Y David consultó á Jehová, diciendo: ¿Iré á herir á estos Filisteos? Y Jehová respondió á David: Ve, hiere á los Filisteos, y libra á Keila.
Therefore David enquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go and smite these Philistines? And the LORD said unto David, Go, and smite the Philistines, and save Keilah.

Entonces David volvió á consultar á Jehová. Y Jehová le respondió, y dijo: Levántate, desciende á Keila, que yo entregaré en tus manos á los Filisteos.

Wird Saul herabkommen, wie dein Knecht gehört hat? Herr, Gott Israels, tue das doch deinem Knechte kund! Da sprach der Herr: Er wird herabkommen.
¿Me entregarán los vecinos de Keila en sus manos? ¿descenderá Saúl, como tu siervo tiene oído? Jehová Dios de Israel, ruégote que lo declares á tu siervo. Y Jehová dijo: Sí, descenderá.

Dann fragte David: Werden die Bürger von Kegila mich und meine Leute Saul ausliefern? Der Herr antwortete: Sie werden dich ausliefern.

Then said David, Will the men of Keilah deliver me and my men into the hand of Saul? And the LORD said, They will deliver thee up.

Da machte sich David auf mit seinen Leuten, etwa sechshundert Mann, und sie zogen von Kegila fort und streiften hierhin und dorthin. Als Saul gemeldet wurde, dass David aus Kegila entronnen sei, stand er von seinem Zuge ab.

Nun denn, ganz wie es dir beliebt, o König, komme herab; an uns wird es dann sein, ihn dem König auszuliefern.

Da sprach Saul: Seid gesegnet von dem Herrn, dass ihr euch meiner erbarmt habt!

Go, I pray you, prepare yet, and know and see his place where his haunt is, and who hath seen him there: for it is told me that he dealeth very subtilly.

Da machten sie sich auf und gingen Saul voraus nach Siph. David aber und seine Leute waren in der Wüste Maon, in der Steppe südlich von der Einöde.

kam auf einmal ein Bote zu Saul und sprach: Komm eilends; denn die Philister sind ins Land eingefallen.

Da stand Saul von der Verfolgung Davids ab und zog den Philistern entgegen. Daher heisst man jenen Ort "Fels des Entschlüpfens".
Volvióse por tanto Saúl de perseguir á David, y partió contra los Filisteos. Por esta causa pusieron á aquel lugar por nombre Sela-hammah-lecoth.
Wherefore Saul returned from pursuing after David, and went against the Philistines: therefore they called that place Sela-hammahlekoth.
