1Nun redete Saul zu seinem Sohne Jonathan und seiner ganzen Umgebung davon, er wolle David umbringen. Sauls Sohn Jonathan aber war david sehr zugethan;
2daher hinterbrachte Jonathan dem David: Mein Vater saul trachtet darnach, dich ums leben zu bringen; nimm dich daher morgen früh in acht, verbirg dich und bleibe versteckt.
3Ich selbst aber will hinausgehen und mich neben meinen vater stellen auf dem felde, wo du dich aufhälst, und will vor meinem vater von dir reden, und wenn ich etwas erfahre, will ich dir Bescheid sagen.
4Da redete Jonathan vor seinem Vater Saul Gutes über David und sprach zu ihm: der König möge sich an seinem Diener david nicht versündigen, denn er hat sich nicht gegen dich vergangen, und sein ganzes verhalten war dir sehr nützlich:
5er hat sein Leben aufs Spiel gesetzt und den Philister erschlagen, und so hat Jahwe ganz Israel einen großen Sieg verschafft. Du hast es mit angesehen und dich gefreut; warum willst du dich also an unschuldigem Blute versündigen, indem du david grundlos tötest?
6Saul schenkte Jonathan Gehör und Saul schwur: So wahr Jahwe lebt, er soll nicht getötet werden!
7Da rief Jonathan dem David und Jonathan hinterbrachte ihm diese ganze Unterredung. Dann führte Jonathan david zu Saul, und er war in seiner Nähe, wie ehedem.
8Als aber der Krieg wieder ausbrach, zog David ins Feld, kämpfte gegen die Philister und richtete eine große Niederlage unter ihnen an, so daß sie vor ihm flohen.
9Über saul aber kam ein böser Geist von Gott, als er einmal zu Hause saß und seinen Speer in der Hand hielt, während davids Hand die Zither spielte:
10da wollte Saul David mit seinem Speer an die Wand spießen. Er wich jedoch vor Saul aus, so daß er den Speer in die Wand stieß. David aber floh und entkam. In derselben Nacht nun
11schickte Saul Boten nach dem Hause Davids, um ihn zu bewachen, damit er ihn am Morgen umbringen könnte. Aber sein Weib Michal berichtete es david und sprach: Wenn du nicht diese nacht dein Leben in Sicherheit bringst, wirst du morgen umgebracht!
12Da ließ Michal david durchs fenster hinab; so floh er davon und entkam.
13Dann nahm Michal den Teraphim, legte ihn ins Bett und legte das Netz von Ziegenhaaren an das Kopfende und deckte ihn mit einem Kleidungsstücke zu.
14Als nun Saul Boten sandte, David zu holen, erklärte sie: Er ist krank.
15Da sandte Saul die Leute zurück, um nach David zu sehen, mit dem Auftrag: Bringt mir ihn samt dem Bette her, daß ich ihn umbringe!
16Als aber die Boten hinkamen, da lag der Teraphim im bett und an seinem Kopfende das Netz von Ziegenhaaren.
17da sprach Saul zu Michal: Warum hast du mich so betrogen, indem du meinen Feind davongehen ließest, daß er entkam? Michal erwiderte Saul: Er bat mich: Laß mich davon, oder ich töte dich!
18Nachdem so david geflohen und entronnen war, kam er zu Samuel nach Rama und teilte ihm mit, was alles Saul ihm angethan hatte; sodann ging er mit Samuel und sie wohnten in Najoth in Rama.
19Als nun Saul hinterbracht wurde: david ist in Najoth in Rama,
20schickte Saul Boten, David zu holen. Als sie aber die Schar der Propheten erblickten, wie sie in Verzückung redeten, und Samuel an ihrer Spitze stehend, da kam der Geist Gottes über die Boten Sauls, so daß auch sie in Prophetischer Begeisterung redeten.
21Als man dies Saul meldete, sandte er andere Boten; aber auch sie redeten in prophetischer Begeisterung. Und als Saul weiterhin zum dritten Male Boten sandte, redeten sie ebenfalls in prophetischer begeisterung.
22da ging er selbst nach Rama. Und als er bis zum Brunnen der Tenne, die auf dem kahlen Hügel liegt, gelangt war, fragte er: Wo sind Samuel und David? Man antwortete ihm: In Najoth in Rama.
23Als er aber von dort nach Najoth in Rama ging, da überkam auch ihn der Geist Gottes, daß er immerfort im Gehen in prophetischer Begeisterung redete, bis er nach Najoth in Rama kam.
24Da zog auch er seine Kleider aus und redete ebenfalls vor Samuel in prophetischer Begeisterung und lag nackt da jenen ganzen Tag und die ganze Nacht. Daher pflegt man zu sagen: Ist Saul auch unter den Propheten?

1Y HABLÓ Saúl á Jonathán su hijo, y á todos sus criados, para que matasen á David; mas Jonathán hijo de Saúl amaba á David en gran manera.
2Y dió aviso á David, diciendo: Saúl mi padre procura matarte; por tanto mira ahora por ti hasta la mañana, y estáte en paraje oculto, y escóndete:
3Y yo saldré y estaré junto á mi padre en el campo donde estuvieres: y hablaré de ti á mi padre, y te haré saber lo que notare.
4Y Jonathán habló bien de David á Saúl su padre, y díjole: No peque el rey contra su siervo David, pues que ninguna cosa ha cometido contra ti: antes sus obras te han sido muy buenas;
5Porque él puso su alma en su palma, é hirió al Filisteo, y Jehová hizo una gran salud á todo Israel. Tú lo viste, y te holgaste: ¿por qué pues pecarás contra la sangre inocente, matando á David sin causa?
6Y oyendo Saúl la voz de Jonathán, juró: Vive Jehová, que no morirá.
7Llamando entonces Jonathán á David, declaróle todas estas palabras; y él mismo presentó á David á Saúl, y estuvo delante de él como antes.
8Y tornó á hacerse guerra: y salió David y peleó contra los Filisteos, é hiriólos con grande estrago, y huyeron delante de él.
9Y el espíritu malo de parte de Jehová fué sobre Saúl: y estando sentado en su casa tenía una lanza á mano, mientras David estaba tañendo con su mano.
10Y Saúl procuró enclavar á David con la lanza en la pared; mas él se apartó de delante de Saúl, el cual hirió con la lanza en la pared; y David huyó, y escapóse aquella noche.
11Saúl envió luego mensajeros á casa de David para que lo guardasen, y lo matasen á la mañana. Mas Michâl su mujer lo descubrió á David, diciendo: Si no salvares tu vida esta noche, mañana serás muerto.
12Y descolgó Michâl á David por una ventana; y él se fué, y huyó, y escapóse.
13Tomó luego Michâl una estatua, y púsola sobre la cama, y acomodóle por cabecera una almohada de pelos de cabra, y cubrióla con una ropa.
14Y cuando Saúl envió mensajeros que tomasen á David, ella respondió: Está enfermo.
15Y tornó Saúl á enviar mensajeros para que viesen á David, diciendo: Traédmelo en la cama para que lo mate.
16Y como los mensajeros entraron, he aquí la estatua estaba en la cama, y una almohada de pelos de cabra por cabecera.
17Entonces Saúl dijo á Michâl: ¿Por qué me has así engañado, y has dejado escapar á mi enemigo? Y Michâl respondió á Saúl: Porque él me dijo: Déjame ir; si no, yo te mataré.
18Huyó pues David, y escapóse, y vino á Samuel en Rama, y díjole todo lo que Saúl había hecho con él. Y fuéronse él y Samuel, y moraron en Najoth.
19Y fué dado aviso á Saúl, diciendo: He aquí que David está en Najoth en Rama.
20Y envió Saúl mensajeros que trajesen á David, los cuales vieron una compañía de profetas que profetizaban, y á Samuel que estaba allí, y los presidía. Y fué el espíritu de Dios sobre los mensajeros de Saúl, y ellos también profetizaron.
21Y hecho que fué saber á Saúl, él envió otros mensajeros, los cuales también profetizaron. Y Saúl volvió á enviar por tercera vez mensajeros, y ellos también profetizaron.
22Entonces él mismo vino á Rama; y llegando al pozo grande que está en Sochô, preguntó diciendo: ¿Dónde están Samuel y David? Y fuéle respondido: He aquí están en Najoth en Rama.
23Y fué allá á Najoth en Rama; y también vino sobre él el espíritu de Dios, é iba profetizando, hasta que llegó á Najoth en Rama.
24Y él también se desnudó sus vestidos, y profetizó igualmente delante de Samuel, y cayó desnudo todo aquel día y toda aquella noche. De aquí se dijo: ¿También Saúl entre los profetas?

1And Saul spake to Jonathan his son, and to all his servants, that they should kill David.
2But Jonathan Saul’s son delighted much in David: and Jonathan told David, saying, Saul my father seeketh to kill thee: now therefore, I pray thee, take heed to thyself until the morning, and abide in a secret place, and hide thyself:
3And I will go out and stand beside my father in the field where thou art, and I will commune with my father of thee; and what I see, that I will tell thee.
4And Jonathan spake good of David unto Saul his father, and said unto him, Let not the king sin against his servant, against David; because he hath not sinned against thee, and because his works have been to thee-ward very good:
5For he did put his life in his hand, and slew the Philistine, and the LORD wrought a great salvation for all Israel: thou sawest it, and didst rejoice: wherefore then wilt thou sin against innocent blood, to slay David without a cause?
6And Saul hearkened unto the voice of Jonathan: and Saul sware, As the LORD liveth, he shall not be slain.
7And Jonathan called David, and Jonathan shewed him all those things. And Jonathan brought David to Saul, and he was in his presence, as in times past.
8And there was war again: and David went out, and fought with the Philistines, and slew them with a great slaughter; and they fled from him.
9And the evil spirit from the LORD was upon Saul, as he sat in his house with his javelin in his hand: and David played with his hand.
10And Saul sought to smite David even to the wall with the javelin; but he slipped away out of Saul’s presence, and he smote the javelin into the wall: and David fled, and escaped that night.
11Saul also sent messengers unto David’s house, to watch him, and to slay him in the morning: and Michal David’s wife told him, saying, If thou save not thy life to night, to morrow thou shalt be slain.
12So Michal let David down through a window: and he went, and fled, and escaped.
13And Michal took an image, and laid it in the bed, and put a pillow of goats’ hair for his bolster, and covered it with a cloth.
14And when Saul sent messengers to take David, she said, He is sick.
15And Saul sent the messengers again to see David, saying, Bring him up to me in the bed, that I may slay him.
16And when the messengers were come in, behold, there was an image in the bed, with a pillow of goats’ hair for his bolster.
17And Saul said unto Michal, Why hast thou deceived me so, and sent away mine enemy, that he is escaped? And Michal answered Saul, He said unto me, Let me go; why should I kill thee?
18So David fled, and escaped, and came to Samuel to Ramah, and told him all that Saul had done to him. And he and Samuel went and dwelt in Naioth.
19And it was told Saul, saying, Behold, David is at Naioth in Ramah.
20And Saul sent messengers to take David: and when they saw the company of the prophets prophesying, and Samuel standing as appointed over them, the Spirit of God was upon the messengers of Saul, and they also prophesied.
21And when it was told Saul, he sent other messengers, and they prophesied likewise. And Saul sent messengers again the third time, and they prophesied also.
22Then went he also to Ramah, and came to a great well that is in Sechu: and he asked and said, Where are Samuel and David? And one said, Behold, they be at Naioth in Ramah.
23And he went thither to Naioth in Ramah: and the Spirit of God was upon him also, and he went on, and prophesied, until he came to Naioth in Ramah.
24And he stripped off his clothes also, and prophesied before Samuel in like manner, and lay down naked all that day and all that night. Wherefore they say, Is Saul also among the prophets?
World English Bible
1Saul spoke to Jonathan his son and to all his servants, that they should kill David. But Jonathan, Saul’s son, greatly delighted in David.
2Jonathan told David, saying, “Saul my father seeks to kill you. Now therefore, please take care of yourself in the morning, live in a secret place, and hide yourself.
3I will go out and stand beside my father in the field where you are, and I will talk with my father about you; and if I see anything, I will tell you.”
4Jonathan spoke good of David to Saul his father, and said to him, “Don’t let the king sin against his servant, against David; because he has not sinned against you, and because his works have been very good toward you;
5for he put his life in his hand and struck the Philistine, and the LORD worked a great victory for all Israel. You saw it and rejoiced. Why then will you sin against innocent blood, to kill David without a cause?”
6Saul listened to the voice of Jonathan; and Saul swore, “As the LORD lives, he shall not be put to death.”
7Jonathan called David, and Jonathan showed him all those things. Then Jonathan brought David to Saul, and he was in his presence as before.
8There was war again. David went out and fought with the Philistines, and killed them with a great slaughter; and they fled before him.
9An evil spirit from the LORD was on Saul as he sat in his house with his spear in his hand; and David was playing music with his hand.
10Saul sought to pin David to the wall with the spear, but he slipped away out of Saul’s presence; and he stuck the spear into the wall. David fled and escaped that night.
11Saul sent messengers to David’s house to watch him and to kill him in the morning. Michal, David’s wife, told him, saying, “If you don’t save your life tonight, tomorrow you will be killed.”
12So Michal let David down through the window. He went away, fled, and escaped.
13Michal took the teraphim and laid it in the bed, and put a pillow of goats’ hair at its head and covered it with clothes.
14When Saul sent messengers to take David, she said, “He is sick.”
15Saul sent the messengers to see David, saying, “Bring him up to me in the bed, that I may kill him.”
16When the messengers came in, behold, the teraphim was in the bed, with the pillow of goats’ hair at its head.
17Saul said to Michal, “Why have you deceived me like this and let my enemy go, so that he has escaped?” Michal answered Saul, “He said to me, ‘Let me go! Why should I kill you?’”
18Now David fled and escaped, and came to Samuel at Ramah, and told him all that Saul had done to him. He and Samuel went and lived in Naioth.
19Saul was told, saying, “Behold, David is at Naioth in Ramah.”
20Saul sent messengers to seize David; and when they saw the company of the prophets prophesying, and Samuel standing as head over them, God’s Spirit came on Saul’s messengers, and they also prophesied.
21When Saul was told, he sent other messengers, and they also prophesied. Saul sent messengers again the third time, and they also prophesied.
