17Saúl dijo a David: Ahí está Merab, mi hija mayor. A ella te la daré como esposa, con tal que me seas un guerrero valiente y pelees las batallas de Yavé. Porque Saúl se decía: Que mi mano no se levante contra él, sino que la mano de los filisteos se levante contra él.

17And Saul said to David, Behold my elder daughter Merab, her will I give thee to wife: only be thou valiant for me, and fight the LORD’s battles. For Saul said, Let not mine hand be upon him, but let the hand of the Philistines be upon him.
