Por lo tanto pongan a un lado toda maldad, engaño, hipocresía, y calumnia.
DEJANDO pues toda malicia, y todo engaño, y fingimientos, y envidias, y todas las detracciones,
Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,
Putting away therefore all wickedness, all deceit, hypocrisies, envies, and all evil speaking,
Sean como niños recién nacidos, deseando la leche pura espiritual, de modo que ustedes puedan crecer en salvación,
Desead, como niños recién nacidos, la leche espiritual, sin engaño, para que por ella crezcáis en salud:
As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
as newborn babies, long for the pure spiritual milk, that with it you may grow,
si es que has probado que el Señor es bueno.
Si empero habéis gustado que el Señor es benigno;
If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.
if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious.
Vengan a Él quienes sean piedras vivientes que hayan sido rechazadas por la gente, pero quienes fueron escogidos por Dios y son valiosos para él.
Al cual allegándoos, piedra viva, reprobada cierto de los hombres, empero elegida de Dios, preciosa,
To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious,
Come to him, a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God, precious.
Ustedes también son piedras vivientes que están siendo construídas para ser casa espiritual, de modo que sea un santo sacerdocio para ofrecer sacrificios espirituales aceptables a Dios por Cristo Jesús.
Vosotros también, como piedras vivas, sed edificados una casa espiritual, y un sacerdocio santo, para ofrecer sacrificios espirituales, agradables á Dios por Jesucristo.
Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
You also as living stones are built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
Dice la Escritura," MIRAD, YO PONGO EN SIÓN UNA PIEDRA ANGULAR, PRINCIPAL Y ESCOGIDA Y PRECIOSA. QUIEN CREA EN ÉL NO SERÁ AVERGONZADA."
Por lo cual también contiene la Escritura: He aquí, pongo en Sión la principal piedra del ángulo, escogida, preciosa; y el que creyere en ella, no será confundido.
Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.
Because it is contained in Scripture, “Behold, I lay in Zion a chief cornerstone, chosen and precious. He who believes in him will not be disappointed.”
Entonces el honor es para ustedes que creen. Pero, "LA PIEDRA QUE FUE RECHAZADA POR LOS CONSTRUCTORES, ÉSTA SE HA CONVERTIDO EN LA CABEZA DE LA ESQUINA",
Ella es pues honor á vosotros que creéis: mas para los desobedientes, la piedra que los edificadores reprobaron, ésta fué hecha la cabeza del ángulo;
Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,
For you who believe therefore is the honor, but for those who are disobedient, “The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone,”
y "UNA PIEDRA DE TROPIEZO Y ROCA DE TROPIEZO." Ellos tropiezan, desobedeciendo la palabra, por la cual ellos también fueron señalados.
Y Piedra de tropiezo, y roca de escándalo á aquellos que tropiezan en la palabra, siendo desobedientes; para lo cual fueron también ordenados.
And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.

Pero ustedes son una raza escogida, un real sacerdocio, una nación santa, una gente de posesión de Dios, por lo que ustedes anunciarán las acciones maravillosas de aquel que los llamo de la obscuridad a la luz maravillosa.
Mas vosotros sois linaje escogido, real sacerdocio, gente santa, pueblo adquirido, para que anunciéis las virtudes de aquel que os ha llamado de las tinieblas á su luz admirable:
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, that you may proclaim the excellence of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
Ustedes una vez no eran gente, pero ahora ustedes son la gente de Dios. Ustedes no recibieron misericordia, pero ahora ustedes han recibido misericordia.
Vosotros, que en el tiempo pasado no erais pueblo, mas ahora sois pueblo de Dios; que en el tiempo pasado no habíais alcanzado misericordia, mas ahora habéis alcanzado misericordia.
Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
In the past, you were not a people, but now are God’s people, who had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
Amados, Yo les llamo como extranjeros y vagabundos para que se abstengan de deseos pecaminosos, por cuanto guerrean contra su alma.
Amados, yo os ruego como á extranjeros y peregrinos, os abstengáis de los deseos carnales que batallan contra el alma,
Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
Beloved, I beg you as foreigners and pilgrims to abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul,
Ustedes deben tener buen comportamiento entre los Gentiles, para que, si hablan de ustedes como habiendo hecho cosas malas, ellos puedan observar y alabar a Dios en el día de su venida.
Teniendo vuestra conversación honesta entre los Gentiles; para que, en lo que ellos murmuran de vosotros como de malhechores, glorifiquen á Dios en el día de la visitación, estimándoos por las buenas obras.
Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.

Obedecer toda autoridad humana por la causa del Señor, ya sea al rey como supremo,
Sed pues sujetos á toda ordenación humana por respeto á Dios: ya sea al rey, como á superior;
Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme;
Therefore subject yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake: whether to the king, as supreme,
ya sea los gobernantes que han sido enviados a castigar a los malechores y alaben aquellos que hacen el bien.
Ya á los gobernadores, como de él enviados para venganza de los malhechores, y para loor de los que hacen bien.
Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well.
or to governors, as sent by him for vengeance on evildoers and for praise to those who do well.
Por tal es la voluntad de Dios, que al hacer el bien tu callas el hablar ignorante de la gente necia.
Porque esta es la voluntad de Dios; que haciendo bien, hagáis callar la ignorancia de los hombres vanos:
For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men:
For this is the will of God, that by well-doing you should put to silence the ignorance of foolish men.
Como gente libre, no usen su libertad como pretexto para cubrir maldad, pero sean como siervos de Dios.
Como libres, y no como teniendo la libertad por cobertura de malicia, sino como siervos de Dios.
As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God.
Live as free people, yet not using your freedom for a cloak of wickedness, but as bondservants of God.
Honren toda la gente. Ama la hermandad. Teme a Dios. Honra al rey.
Honrad á todos. Amad la fraternidad. Temed á Dios. Honrad al rey.
Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.
Honor all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.
Sievos, estén sujetos a sus amos con todo respeto, no sólo a los amos buenos y gentiles, pero también a los maliciosos.
Siervos, sed sujetos con todo temor á vuestros amos; no solamente á los buenos y humanos, sino también á los rigurosos.
Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward.
Servants, be in subjection to your masters with all respect, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the wicked.
Por cuanto es loable si alguien padece dolor mientras sufre injusticia por conciencia ante Dios.
Porque esto es agradable, si alguno á causa de la conciencia delante de Dios, sufre molestias padeciendo injustamente.
For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully.
For it is commendable if someone endures pain, suffering unjustly, because of conscience toward God.
¿Cuánto crédito hay si tu pecas y luego sufres al ser castigado? Pero si tú haz hecho bien y luego sufres siendo castigado, esto es loable ante Dios.
Porque ¿qué gloria es, si pecando vosotros sois abofeteados, y lo sufrís? mas si haciendo bien sois afligidos, y lo sufrís, esto ciertamente es agradable delante de Dios.
For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.
For what glory is it if, when you sin, you patiently endure beating? But if when you do well, you patiently endure suffering, this is commendable with God.
Para esto tu has sido llamado, porque Cristo también sufrió por tí, dejando un ejemplo para que puedas seguir en sus pisadas.
Porque para esto sois llamados; pues que también Cristo padeció por nosotros, dejándonos ejemplo, para que vosotros sigáis sus pisadas:
For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:
For you were called to this, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving you an example, that you should follow his steps,
Él no cometió ningún pecado; tampoco se encontró engaño en su boca.
El cual no hizo pecado; ni fué hallado engaño en su boca:
Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:
who didn’t sin, “neither was deceit found in his mouth.”
Cuando fue maldecido, Él no maldijo para atrás. Cuando Él sufrió, Él no amenazo para atrás, pero Él se dió así mismo a quien juzga justamente.
Quien cuando le maldecían, no retornaba maldición; cuando padecía, no amenazaba, sino remitía la causa al que juzga justamente:
Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:
When he was cursed, he didn’t curse back. When he suffered, he didn’t threaten, but committed himself to him who judges righteously.
El mismo cargó nuestros pecados en su cuerpo al árbol, para que nosotros no tengámos mas parte en pecado, y para que podamos vivir para rectitud. Por sus contusiones ustedes han sido sanado.
El cual mismo llevó nuestros pecados en su cuerpo sobre el madero, para que nosotros siendo muertos á los pecados, vivamos á la justicia: por la herida del cual habéis sido sanados.
Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live to righteousness. You were healed by his wounds.
Todos ustedes han estado vangando como ovejas perdidas, pero ahora han regresado al pastor y guardian de sus almas.
Porque vosotros erais como ovejas descarriadas; mas ahora habéis vuelto al Pastor y Obispo de vuestras almas.
For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.
For you were going astray like sheep; but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.
