Portanto, deixando toda maldade, todo engano, hipocrisias, invejas e toda maledicência,
DEJANDO pues toda malicia, y todo engaño, y fingimientos, y envidias, y todas las detracciones,
Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,
Putting away therefore all wickedness, all deceit, hypocrisies, envies, and all evil speaking,
como bebês recém-nascidos, desejem o puro leite espiritual, para que por ele vocês cresçam,
Desead, como niños recién nacidos, la leche espiritual, sin engaño, para que por ella crezcáis en salud:
As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
as newborn babies, long for the pure spiritual milk, that with it you may grow,
se é que já provaram que o Senhor é bondoso.
Si empero habéis gustado que el Señor es benigno;
If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.
if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious.
Cheguem-se a ele, uma pedra viva, rejeitada, de fato, pelos homens, mas escolhida por Deus e preciosa.
Al cual allegándoos, piedra viva, reprobada cierto de los hombres, empero elegida de Dios, preciosa,
To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious,
Come to him, a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God, precious.
Vocês também, como pedras vivas, estão sendo edificados como casa espiritual, para serem sacerdócio santo, a fim de oferecerem sacrifícios espirituais, aceitáveis a Deus por meio de Jesus Cristo.

Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

Pois isso está contido na Escritura: “Eis que, ponho em Sião uma pedra angular, escolhida e preciosa. Aquele que nele crê não será decepcionado.”
Por lo cual también contiene la Escritura: He aquí, pongo en Sión la principal piedra del ángulo, escogida, preciosa; y el que creyere en ella, no será confundido.
Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.
Because it is contained in Scripture, “Behold, I lay in Zion a chief cornerstone, chosen and precious. He who believes in him will not be disappointed.”
Portanto, para vocês, os que creem, esta é a honra, mas para os desobedientes, “A pedra que os construtores rejeitaram tornou-se a pedra angular,”

Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,
For you who believe therefore is the honor, but for those who are disobedient, “The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone,”
e, “uma pedra de tropeço e uma rocha de ofensa.” Pois eles tropeçam na palavra, sendo desobedientes, para o que também foram destinados.
Y Piedra de tropiezo, y roca de escándalo á aquellos que tropiezan en la palabra, siendo desobedientes; para lo cual fueron también ordenados.
And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

No passado, vocês não eram povo, mas agora são povo de Deus; não tinham alcançado misericórdia, mas agora alcançaram misericórdia.
Vosotros, que en el tiempo pasado no erais pueblo, mas ahora sois pueblo de Dios; que en el tiempo pasado no habíais alcanzado misericordia, mas ahora habéis alcanzado misericordia.

Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;

mantendo um bom comportamento entre as nações, para que, naquilo em que falam contra vocês como malfeitores, eles possam ver as suas boas obras e glorificar a Deus no dia da visitação.
Teniendo vuestra conversación honesta entre los Gentiles; para que, en lo que ellos murmuran de vosotros como de malhechores, glorifiquen á Dios en el día de la visitación, estimándoos por las buenas obras.
Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.

Portanto, sujeitem-se a toda instituição humana por causa do Senhor: seja ao rei, como autoridade suprema,
Sed pues sujetos á toda ordenación humana por respeto á Dios: ya sea al rey, como á superior;
Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme;

ou aos governadores, como enviados por ele para punição dos malfeitores e para o louvor dos que fazem o bem.
Ya á los gobernadores, como de él enviados para venganza de los malhechores, y para loor de los que hacen bien.
Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well.

Pois esta é a vontade de Deus: que, fazendo o bem, vocês silenciem a ignorância dos homens insensatos.

Vivam como pessoas livres, mas não usando a sua liberdade como disfarce para a maldade, e sim como servos de Deus.
Como libres, y no como teniendo la libertad por cobertura de malicia, sino como siervos de Dios.
As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God.

Servos, sujeitem-se aos seus senhores com todo o respeito, não apenas aos bons e gentis, mas também aos perversos.
Siervos, sed sujetos con todo temor á vuestros amos; no solamente á los buenos y humanos, sino también á los rigurosos.
Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward.

Pois é louvável se alguém suporta a dor, sofrendo injustamente, por causa da consciência para com Deus.
Porque esto es agradable, si alguno á causa de la conciencia delante de Dios, sufre molestias padeciendo injustamente.
For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully.
For it is commendable if someone endures pain, suffering unjustly, because of conscience toward God.
Pois que glória há se, quando vocês pecam, suportam pacientemente serem espancados? Mas se, quando fazem o bem, suportam pacientemente o sofrimento, isso é louvável diante de Deus.
Porque ¿qué gloria es, si pecando vosotros sois abofeteados, y lo sufrís? mas si haciendo bien sois afligidos, y lo sufrís, esto ciertamente es agradable delante de Dios.
For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.
For what glory is it if, when you sin, you patiently endure beating? But if when you do well, you patiently endure suffering, this is commendable with God.
Pois para isso vocês foram chamados, porque Cristo também sofreu por nós, deixando a vocês um exemplo, para que sigam os seus passos,
Porque para esto sois llamados; pues que también Cristo padeció por nosotros, dejándonos ejemplo, para que vosotros sigáis sus pisadas:
For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:

ele que não cometeu pecado, “nem engano algum foi achado em sua boca.”
El cual no hizo pecado; ni fué hallado engaño en su boca:
Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:
who didn’t sin, “neither was deceit found in his mouth.”
Quando foi amaldiçoado, não amaldiçoou de volta. Quando sofreu, não fez ameaças, mas entregou-se àquele que julga com justiça.
Quien cuando le maldecían, no retornaba maldición; cuando padecía, no amenazaba, sino remitía la causa al que juzga justamente:
Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:
When he was cursed, he didn’t curse back. When he suffered, he didn’t threaten, but committed himself to him who judges righteously.
Ele mesmo levou os nossos pecados em seu corpo no madeiro, para que nós, tendo morrido para os pecados, vivamos para a justiça. Pelas suas feridas vocês foram curados.
El cual mismo llevó nuestros pecados en su cuerpo sobre el madero, para que nosotros siendo muertos á los pecados, vivamos á la justicia: por la herida del cual habéis sido sanados.
Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live to righteousness. You were healed by his wounds.
Pois vocês andavam desgarrados como ovelhas; mas agora retornaram ao Pastor e Supervisor das suas almas.
Porque vosotros erais como ovejas descarriadas; mas ahora habéis vuelto al Pastor y Obispo de vuestras almas.
For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.
For you were going astray like sheep; but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.
