1Damals ließ Salomo die Ältesten der Israeliten und (zwar besonders) alle Häupter der Stämme und die Obersten der israelitischen Geschlechter bei sich in Jerusalem zusammenkommen, um die Bundeslade des HERRN aus der Davidstadt, das ist Zion, hinaufzubringen.
2So versammelten sich denn alle israelitischen Männer beim König Salomo am Fest im Monat Ethanim, das ist der siebte Monat.
3Als nun alle Ältesten der Israeliten sich eingefunden hatten, hoben die Priester die Lade des HERRN auf
4und trugen sie hinauf, ebenso das Offenbarungszelt und alle heiligen Geräte, die sich im Zelt befanden: die Priester und Leviten trugen sie hinauf.
5Der König Salomo aber und die ganze Volksgemeinde Israel, die sich um ihn versammelt hatte, opferten vor der Lade so viele Stück Kleinvieh und Rinder, daß ihre Menge geradezu unzählbar war.
6Alsdann brachten die Priester die Lade mit dem Bundesgesetz des HERRN an die für sie bestimmte Stätte, nämlich in den Hinterraum des Tempels, in das Allerheiligste, unter die Flügel der Cherube;
7die Cherube hielten nämlich ihre Flügel ausgebreitet über die Stätte, wo die Lade stand, so daß die Cherube eine Decke oben über der Lade und deren Tragstangen bildeten.
8Die Tragstangen aber waren so lang, daß die Spitzen der Stangen im Heiligtum an der Vorderseite des Allerheiligsten eben noch sichtbar waren; weiter außen aber waren sie nicht zu sehen; und sie sind dort geblieben bis auf den heutigen Tag.
9In der Lade befand sich nichts als nur die beiden steinernen Tafeln, die Mose am Horeb hineingelegt hatte, die Tafeln des Bundes, den der HERR mit den Israeliten nach ihrem Auszug aus Ägypten geschlossen hatte.
10Als aber die Priester aus dem Heiligtum hinausgetreten waren, da erfüllte die Wolke den Tempel des HERRN,
11so daß die Priester wegen der Wolke nicht hintreten konnten, um ihren Dienst zu verrichten; denn die Herrlichkeit des HERRN erfüllte den Tempel des HERRN.
12Damals sprach Salomo: »Der HERR hat gesagt, er wolle im Dunkeln wohnen.
13So habe ich dir nun ein Haus zur Wohnung gebaut, eine Stätte zum Wohnsitz für dich auf ewige Zeiten.«
14Hierauf wandte der König sich um und segnete die ganze Volksgemeinde Israel, wobei die ganze Gemeinde Israel dastand.
15Dann sagte er: »Gepriesen sei der HERR, der Gott Israels, der die Verheißung, die er meinem Vater David mündlich gegeben, nun tatsächlich erfüllt hat, da er sagte:
16›Seit der Zeit, wo ich mein Volk Israel aus Ägypten hinausgeführt, habe ich aus allen Stämmen Israels nie eine Stadt dazu erwählt, daß mir daselbst ein Haus gebaut würde, an dem mein Name haften sollte; David aber habe ich dazu ersehen, Herrscher über mein Volk Israel zu sein.‹
17Nun hatte zwar mein Vater David den Wunsch, dem Namen des HERRN, des Gottes Israels, ein Haus zu bauen;
18aber der HERR ließ meinem Vater David verkünden: ›Daß du den Wunsch gehegt hast, meinem Namen ein Haus zu bauen, an diesem Vorhaben hast du wohl getan;
19jedoch nicht du sollst das Haus mir bauen, sondern dein leiblicher Sohn, der dir geboren werden wird, der soll meinem Namen das Haus bauen.‹
20Nun hat der HERR diese Verheißung, die er gegeben hat, in Erfüllung gehen lassen; denn ich bin an die Stelle meines Vaters David getreten und habe den Thron Israels bestiegen, wie der HERR es verheißen hatte, und habe dem Namen des HERRN, des Gottes Israels, den Tempel erbaut,
21und ich habe darin eine Stätte geschaffen für die Lade, in der die Urkunde des Bundes liegt, den der HERR mit unsern Vätern geschlossen hat, als er sie aus dem Lande Ägypten hinausführte.«
22Nunmehr trat Salomo angesichts der ganzen Gemeinde Israel vor den Altar des HERRN, breitete seine Hände gen Himmel aus
23und betete: »HERR, du Gott Israels! Kein Gott weder im Himmel droben noch auf der Erde unten ist dir gleich, der du den Bund und die Gnade deinen Knechten bewahrst, die mit ihrem ganzen Herzen vor dir wandeln.
24Du hast deinem Knechte David, meinem Vater, das Versprechen gehalten, was du ihm gegeben hattest; ja, was du mündlich zugesagt hattest, das hast du tatsächlich erfüllt, wie es heute sichtbar zutage liegt.
25Und nun, HERR, du Gott Israels, halte deinem Knechte David, meinem Vater, auch die Verheißung, die du ihm gegeben hast mit den Worten: ›Es soll dir nie an einem (Nachkommen) fehlen, der vor meinem Angesicht auf dem Throne Israels sitze, wofern nur deine Söhne auf ihren Weg achthaben, daß sie vor meinen Augen wandeln, wie du vor mir gewandelt bist.‹
26Nun also, Gott Israels, laß deine Verheißung, die du deinem Knecht David, meinem Vater, gegeben hast, in Erfüllung gehen!
27Wie aber? Sollte Gott wirklich auf der Erde Wohnung nehmen? Siehe, der Himmel und aller Himmel Himmel können dich nicht fassen: wieviel weniger dieses Haus, das ich gebaut habe!
28Und doch wende dich dem Gebet deines Knechtes und seinem Flehen zu, HERR, mein Gott, und höre auf das laute Rufen und das Gebet, das dein Knecht heute an dich richtet!
29Laß deine Augen bei Tag und bei Nacht offenstehen über diesem Hause, über der Stätte, von der du verheißen hast: ›Mein Name soll daselbst wohnen!‹, daß du auf das Gebet hörest, das dein Knecht an dieser Stätte verrichten wird.
30So höre denn auf das Flehen deines Knechtes und deines Volkes Israel, sooft sie an dieser Stätte beten werden! Ja, erhöre du es an der Stätte, wo du thronst, im Himmel, und wenn du es hörst, so vergib!
31Wenn sich jemand gegen seinen Nächsten vergeht und man ihm einen Eid auferlegt, den er schwören soll, und er kommt und schwört vor deinem Altar in diesem Hause:
32so wollest du es im Himmel hören und eingreifen und deinen Knechten Recht schaffen, indem du den Schuldigen dadurch für schuldig erklärst, daß du sein Tun auf sein Haupt zurückfallen läßt, dem Unschuldigen aber dadurch zu seinem Recht verhilfst, daß du ihm zuteil werden läßt nach seiner Gerechtigkeit!
33Wenn dein Volk Israel von einem Feinde geschlagen wird, weil es sich gegen dich versündigt hat, sich dann aber wieder zu dir bekehrt und deinen Namen bekennt und in diesem Hause zu dir betet und fleht:
34so wollest du es im Himmel hören und deinem Volk Israel die Sünde vergeben und sie in dem Lande wohnen lassen, das du ihren Vätern gegeben hast!
35Wenn der Himmel verschlossen bleibt und kein Regen fällt, weil sie gegen dich gesündigt haben, und sie dann an dieser Stätte beten und deinen Namen bekennen und sich von ihrer Sünde bekehren, weil du sie gedemütigt hast:
36so wollest du es im Himmel hören und deinen Knechten, deinem Volk Israel, die Sünde vergeben, indem du sie auf den rechten Weg weisest, auf dem sie wandeln sollen, und wollest Regen fallen lassen auf dein Land, das du deinem Volk zum Erbbesitz gegeben hast!
37Wenn eine Hungersnot im Lande herrscht, wenn die Pest ausbricht, wenn Getreidebrand oder Vergilben des Getreides, Heuschrecken oder Ungeziefer über das Land kommen, wenn seine Feinde es in einer seiner Ortschaften bedrängen oder sonst irgendeine Plage, irgendeine Krankheit sie heimsucht:
38was man alsdann bittet und fleht, es geschehe von einem einzelnen Menschen oder von deinem ganzen Volk Israel, wenn ein jeder sich in seinem Gewissen getroffen fühlt und er seine Hände nach diesem Hause hin ausstreckt:
39so wollest du es im Himmel hören an der Stätte, wo du thronst, und wollest Verzeihung gewähren und einem jeden ganz nach Verdienst vergelten, wie du sein Herz kennst – denn du allein kennst das Herz aller Menschenkinder –,
40damit sie dich allezeit fürchten, solange sie auf dem Boden des Landes leben, das du unsern Vätern gegeben hast!
41Aber auch den Fremdling, der nicht zu deinem Volk Israel gehört, sondern aus fernem Lande um deines Namens willen hergekommen ist –
42denn sie werden von deinem großen Namen, von deiner starken Hand und deinem hocherhobenen Arm hören –, wenn er also kommt und vor diesem Tempel betet:
43so wollest du ihn im Himmel hören an der Stätte, wo du thronst, und alles das tun, um was der Fremdling dich anruft, auf daß alle Völker der Erde deinen Namen kennenlernen, damit sie dich ebenso fürchten wie dein Volk Israel und damit sie innewerden, daß dieses Haus, das ich erbaut habe, deinem Namen als Besitz zugesprochen ist.
44Wenn dein Volk gegen seine Feinde zum Kampf auszieht auf dem Wege, auf den du sie senden wirst, und sie sich im Gebet zu dem HERRN nach der Stadt hin wenden, die du erwählt hast, und nach dem Tempel hin, den ich zu Ehren deines Namens erbaut habe:
45so wollest du ihr Gebet und Flehen im Himmel hören und ihnen zu ihrem Recht verhelfen!
46Wenn sie sich an dir versündigt haben – es gibt ja keinen Menschen, der nicht sündigt – und du ihnen zürnst und sie dem Feinde preisgibst, so daß ihre Besieger sie gefangen wegführen in Feindesland, es liege fern oder nahe,
47und sie dann in dem Lande, wohin sie in die Gefangenschaft geführt worden sind, in sich gehen und sich bekehren und dich im Lande ihrer Zwingherren mit dem Bekenntnis anrufen: ›Wir haben gesündigt und uns vergangen, wir haben gottlos gehandelt!‹,
48wenn sie sich also im Lande ihrer Feinde, die sie in Gefangenschaft halten, mit ganzem Herzen und mit ganzer Seele dir wieder zuwenden und zu dir beten in der Richtung nach ihrem Lande hin, das du ihren Vätern gegeben hast, und nach der Stadt hin, die du dir erwählt hast, und nach dem Tempel hin, den ich zu Ehren deines Namens erbaut habe:
49so wollest du ihr Gebet und Flehen im Himmel an der Stätte, wo du thronst, hören und ihnen zu ihrem Recht verhelfen
50und wollest deinem Volke vergeben, was sie gegen dich gesündigt haben, und alle ihre Übertretungen, mit denen sie sich gegen dich vergangen haben, und wollest sie Barmherzigkeit finden lassen bei ihren Zwingherren, so daß diese Erbarmen mit ihnen haben!
51Denn sie sind dein Volk und dein Eigentum, das du aus Ägypten, mitten aus dem Eisen-Schmelzofen, weggeführt hast.
52So laß denn deine Augen offenstehen für das Flehen deines Knechtes und für das Flehen deines Volkes Israel, daß du sie erhörest, sooft sie dich anrufen!
53Denn du selbst hast sie dir zum Eigentum ausgesondert aus allen Völkern der Erde, wie du es durch den Mund deines Knechtes Mose ausgesprochen hast, als du unsere Väter aus Ägypten wegführtest, HERR, unser Gott!«
54Als nun Salomo mit diesem ganzen Gebet und Flehen, das er an den HERRN gerichtet hatte, zu Ende war, erhob er sich von dem Platze vor dem Altar des HERRN, wo er mit zum Himmel ausgebreiteten Händen auf den Knien gelegen hatte;
55er trat dann hin und segnete die ganze Volksgemeinde Israel, indem er mit lauter Stimme ausrief:
56»Gepriesen sei der HERR, der seinem Volk Israel Ruhe verschafft hat, ganz wie er es verheißen hat! Von all seinen herrlichen Verheißungen, die er durch den Mund seines Knechtes Mose gegeben hat, ist keine einzige unerfüllt geblieben.
57Der HERR, unser Gott, sei mit uns, wie er mit unsern Vätern gewesen ist! Er verlasse uns nicht und verwerfe uns nicht,
58sondern lasse unsere Herzen auf ihn gerichtet sein, damit wir allezeit auf seinen Wegen wandeln und seine Gebote, Satzungen und Rechte beobachten, zu denen er unsere Väter verpflichtet hat!
59Und diese meine Worte, mit denen ich den HERRN angefleht habe, mögen dem HERRN, unserm Gott, bei Tag und bei Nacht gegenwärtig sein, auf daß er seinem Knecht und seinem Volk Israel so, wie jeder Tag es erfordert, Recht schaffe,
60damit alle Völker der Erde erkennen, daß der HERR Gott ist und sonst keiner.
61Euer Herz aber möge dem HERRN, unserm Gott, ungeteilt ergeben sein, daß ihr nach seinen Satzungen wandelt und seine Gebote so haltet, wie es heute der Fall ist!«
62Hierauf brachten der König und ganz Israel mit ihm Schlachtopfer vor dem HERRN dar,
63und zwar ließ Salomo als Heilsopfer, das er dem HERRN darbrachte, 22000 Rinder und 120000 Stück Kleinvieh schlachten: so weihten der König und alle Israeliten den Tempel des HERRN ein.
64An jenem Tage weihte der König den mittleren Teil des Vorhofes, der vor dem Tempel des HERRN liegt, zur Opferstätte; denn er brachte dort die Brandopfer, die Speisopfer und die Fettstücke der Heilsopfer dar, weil der eherne Altar, der vor dem Tempel des HERRN steht, zu klein war, um die Brand- und Speisopfer und die Fettstücke der Heilsopfer zu fassen.
65Auch beging Salomo damals das (Laubhütten-) Fest und ganz Israel mit ihm – eine gewaltige Festgemeinde, die zusammengekommen war von der Gegend bei Hamath an bis an den Bach Ägyptens – vor dem HERRN, unserm Gott, sieben Tage lang und noch einmal sieben Tage, im ganzen vierzehn Tage lang.
66Am achten Tage aber entließ er das Volk; sie nahmen Abschied vom König und kehrten zu ihren Zelten zurück, fröhlich und wohlgemut wegen all des Guten, mit dem der HERR seinen Knecht David und sein Volk Israel gesegnet hatte.

1ENTONCES juntó Salomón los ancianos de Israel, y á todas las cabezas de las tribus, y á los príncipes de las familias de los hijos de Israel, al rey Salomón en Jerusalem para traer el arca del pacto de Jehová de la ciudad de David, que es Sión.
2Y se juntaron al rey Salomón todos los varones de Israel en el mes de Ethanim, que es el mes séptimo, en el día solemne.
3Y vinieron todos los ancianos de Israel, y los sacerdotes tomaron el arca.
4Y llevaron el arca de Jehová, y el tabernáculo del testimonio, y todos los vasos sagrados que estaban en el tabernáculo; los cuales llevaban los sacerdotes y Levitas.
5Y el rey Salomón, y toda la congregación de Israel que á él se había juntado, estaban con él delante del arca, sacrificando ovejas y bueyes, que por la multitud no se podían contar ni numerar.
6Y los sacerdotes metieron el arca del pacto de Jehová en su lugar, en el oráculo de la casa, en el lugar santísimo, debajo de las alas de los querubines.
7Porque los querubines tenían extendidas las alas sobre el lugar del arca, y así cubrían los querubines el arca y sus varas por encima.
8E hicieron salir las varas; que las cabezas de las varas se dejaban ver desde el santuario delante del oráculo, mas no se veían desde afuera: y así se quedaron hasta hoy.
9En el arca ninguna cosa había más de las dos tablas de piedra que había allí puesto Moisés en Horeb, donde Jehová hizo la alianza con los hijos de Israel, cuando salieron de la tierra de Egipto.
10Y como los sacerdotes salieron del santuario, la nube hinchió la casa de Jehová.
11Y los sacerdotes no pudieron estar para ministrar por causa de la nube; porque la gloria de Jehová había henchido la casa de Jehová.
12Entonces dijo Salomón: Jehová ha dicho que él habitaría en la oscuridad.
13Yo he edificado casa por morada para ti, asiento en que tú habites para siempre.
14Y volviendo el rey su rostro, bendijo á toda la congregación de Israel; y toda la congregación de Israel estaba en pie.
15Y dijo: Bendito sea Jehová Dios de Israel, que habló de su boca á David mi padre, y con su mano lo ha cumplido, diciendo:
16Desde el día que saqué mi pueblo Israel de Egipto, no he escogido ciudad de todas las tribus de Israel para edificar casa en la cual estuviese mi nombre, aunque escogí á David para que presidiese en mi pueblo Israel.
17Y David mi padre tuvo en el corazón edificar casa al nombre de Jehová Dios de Israel.
18Mas Jehová dijo á David mi padre: Cuanto á haber tú tenido en el corazón edificar casa á mi nombre, bien has hecho en tener tal voluntad;
19Empero tú no edificarás la casa, sino tu hijo que saldrá de tus lomos, él edificará casa á mi nombre.
20Y Jehová ha verificado su palabra que había dicho; que me he levantado yo en lugar de David mi padre, y heme sentado en el trono de Israel, como Jehová había dicho, y he edificado la casa al nombre de Jehová Dios de Israel.
21Y he puesto en ella lugar para el arca, en la cual está el pacto de Jehová, que él hizo con nuestros padres cuando los sacó de la tierra de Egipto.
22Púsose luego Salomón delante del altar de Jehová, en presencia de toda la congregación de Israel, y extendiendo sus manos al cielo,
23Dijo: Jehová Dios de Israel, no hay Dios como tú, ni arriba en los cielos ni abajo en la tierra, que guardas el pacto y la misericordia á tus siervos, los que andan delante de ti de todo su corazón;
24Que has guardado á tu siervo David mi padre lo que le dijiste: dijístelo con tu boca, y con tu mano lo has cumplido, como aparece este día.
25Ahora pues, Jehová Dios de Israel, cumple á tu siervo David mi padre lo que le prometiste, diciendo: No faltará varón de ti delante de mí, que se siente en el trono de Israel, con tal que tus hijos guarden su camino, que anden delante de mí como tú has delante de mí andado.
26Ahora pues, oh Dios de Israel, verifíquese tu palabra que dijiste á tu siervo David mi padre.
27Empero ¿es verdad que Dios haya de morar sobre la tierra? He aquí que los cielos, los cielos de los cielos, no te pueden contener: ¿cuánto menos esta casa que yo he edificado?
28Con todo, tú atenderás á la oración de tu siervo, y á su plegaria, oh Jehová Dios mío, oyendo propicio el clamor y oración que tu siervo hace hoy delante de ti:
29Que estén tus ojos abiertos de noche y de día sobre esta casa, sobre este lugar del cual has dicho: Mi nombre estará allí; y que oigas la oración que tu siervo hará en este lugar.
30Oye pues la oración de tu siervo, y de tu pueblo Israel; cuando oraren en este lugar, también tú lo oirás en el lugar de tu habitación, desde los cielos: que oigas y perdones.
31Cuando alguno hubiere pecado contra su prójimo, y le tomaren juramento haciéndole jurar, y viniere el juramento delante de tu altar en esta casa;
32Tú oirás desde el cielo, y obrarás, y juzgarás á tus siervos, condenando al impío, tornando su proceder sobre su cabeza, y justificando al justo para darle conforme á su justicia.
33Cuando tu pueblo Israel hubiere caído delante de sus enemigos, por haber pecado contra ti, y á ti se volvieren, y confesaren tu nombre, y oraren, y te rogaren y suplicaren en esta casa;
34Oyelos tú en los cielos, y perdona el pecado de tu pueblo Israel, y vuélvelos á la tierra que diste á sus padres.
35Cuando el cielo se cerrare, y no lloviere, por haber ellos pecado contra ti, y te rogaren en este lugar, y confesaren tu nombre, y se volvieren del pecado, cuando los hubieres afligido;
36Tú oirás en los cielos, y perdonarás el pecado de tus siervos y de tu pueblo Israel, enseñándoles el buen camino en que anden; y darás lluvias sobre tu tierra, la cual diste á tu pueblo por heredad.
37Cuando en la tierra hubiere hambre, ó pestilencia, ó tizoncillo, ó niebla, ó langosta, ó pulgón: si sus enemigos los tuvieren cercados en la tierra de su domicilio; cualquiera plaga ó enfermedad que sea;
38Toda oración y toda súplica que hiciere cualquier hombre, ó todo tu pueblo Israel, cuando cualquiera sintiere la plaga de su corazón, y extendiere sus manos á esta casa;
39Tú oirás en los cielos, en la habitación de tu morada, y perdonarás, y obrarás, y darás á cada uno conforme á sus caminos, cuyo corazón tú conoces; (porque sólo tú conoces el corazón de todos los hijos de los hombres;)
40Para que te teman todos los días que vivieren sobre la haz de la tierra que tú diste á nuestros padres.
41Asimismo el extranjero, que no es de tu pueblo Israel, que hubiere venido de lejanas tierras á causa de tu nombre,
42(Porque oirán de tu grande nombre, y de tu mano fuerte, y de tu brazo extendido;) y viniere á orar á esta casa;
43Tú oirás en los cielos, en la habitación de tu morada, y harás conforme á todo aquello por lo cual el extranjero hubiere á ti clamado: para que todos los pueblos de la tierra conozcan tu nombre, y te teman, como tu pueblo Israel, y entiendan que tu nombre es invocado sobre esta casa que yo edifiqué.
44Si tu pueblo saliere en batalla contra sus enemigos por el camino que tú los enviares, y oraren á Jehová hacia la ciudad que tú elegiste, y hacia la casa que yo edifiqué á tu nombre,
45Tú oirás en los cielos su oración y su súplica, y les harás derecho.
46Si hubieren pecado contra ti, (porque no hay hombre que no peque) y tú estuvieres airado contra ellos, y los entregares delante del enemigo, para que los cautiven y lleven á tierra enemiga, sea lejos ó cerca,
47Y ellos volvieren en sí en la tierra donde fueren cautivos; si se convirtieren, y oraren á ti en la tierra de los que los cautivaron, y dijeren: Pecamos, hemos hecho lo malo, hemos cometido impiedad;
48Y si se convirtieren á ti de todo su corazón y de toda su alma, en la tierra de sus enemigos que los hubieren llevado cautivos, y oraren á ti hacia su tierra, que tú diste á sus padres, hacia la ciudad que tú elegiste y la casa que yo he edificado á tu nombre;
49Tú oirás en los cielos, en la habitación de tu morada, su oración y su súplica, y les harás derecho;
50Y perdonarás á tu pueblo que había pecado contra ti, y todas sus infracciones con que se habrán contra ti rebelado; y harás que hayan de ellos misericordia los que los hubieren llevado cautivos:
51Porque ellos son tu pueblo y tu heredad, que tú sacaste de Egipto, de en medio del horno de hierro.
52Que tus ojos estén abiertos á la oración de tu siervo, y á la plegaria de tu pueblo Israel, para oirlos en todo aquello por lo que te invocaren:
53Pues que tú los apartaste para ti por tu heredad de todos los pueblos de la tierra, como lo dijiste por mano de Moisés tu siervo, cuando sacaste á nuestros padres de Egipto, oh Señor Jehová.
54Y fué, que como acabó Salomón de hacer á Jehová toda esta oración y súplica, levantóse de estar de rodillas delante del altar de Jehová con sus manos extendidas al cielo;
55Y puesto en pie, bendijo á toda la congregación de Israel, diciendo en voz alta:
56Bendito sea Jehová, que ha dado reposo á su pueblo Israel, conforme á todo lo que él había dicho; ninguna palabra de todas sus promesas que expresó por Moisés su siervo, ha faltado.
57Sea con nosotros Jehová nuestro Dios, como fué con nuestros padres; y no nos desampare, ni nos deje;
58Incline nuestro corazón hacia sí, para que andemos en todos sus caminos, y guardemos sus mandamientos y sus estatutos y sus derechos, los cuales mandó á nuestros padres.
59Y que estas mis palabras con que he orado delante de Jehová, estén cerca de Jehová nuestro Dios de día y de noche, para que él proteja la causa de su siervo, y de su pueblo Israel, cada cosa en su tiempo;
60A fin de que todos los pueblos de la tierra sepan que Jehová es Dios, y que no hay otro.
61Sea pues perfecto vuestro corazón para con Jehová nuestro Dios, andando en sus estatutos, y guardando sus mandamientos, como el día de hoy.
62Entonces el rey, y todo Israel con él, sacrificaron víctimas delante de Jehová.
63Y sacrificó Salomón por sacrificios pacíficos, los cuales ofreció á Jehová, veinte y dos mil bueyes, y ciento veinte mil ovejas. Así dedicaron el rey y todos los hijos de Israel la casa de Jehová.

65En aquel tiempo Salomón hizo fiesta, y con él todo Israel, una grande congregación, desde como entran en Hamath hasta el río de Egipto, delante de Jehová nuestro Dios, por siete días y otros siete días, esto es, por catorce días.
66Y el octavo día despidió al pueblo: y ellos bendiciendo al rey, se fueron á sus estancias alegres y gozosos de corazón por todos los beneficios que Jehová había hecho á David su siervo, y á su pueblo Israel.

1Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, the chief of the fathers of the children of Israel, unto king Solomon in Jerusalem, that they might bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD out of the city of David, which is Zion.
2And all the men of Israel assembled themselves unto king Solomon at the feast in the month Ethanim, which is the seventh month.
3And all the elders of Israel came, and the priests took up the ark.
4And they brought up the ark of the LORD, and the tabernacle of the congregation, and all the holy vessels that were in the tabernacle, even those did the priests and the Levites bring up.
5And king Solomon, and all the congregation of Israel, that were assembled unto him, were with him before the ark, sacrificing sheep and oxen, that could not be told nor numbered for multitude.
6And the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of the LORD unto his place, into the oracle of the house, to the most holy place, even under the wings of the cherubims.
7For the cherubims spread forth their two wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubims covered the ark and the staves thereof above.
8And they drew out the staves, that the ends of the staves were seen out in the holy place before the oracle, and they were not seen without: and there they are unto this day.
9There was nothing in the ark save the two tables of stone, which Moses put there at Horeb, when the LORD made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt.
10And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of the LORD,
11So that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of the LORD.
12Then spake Solomon, The LORD said that he would dwell in the thick darkness.
13I have surely built thee an house to dwell in, a settled place for thee to abide in for ever.
14And the king turned his face about, and blessed all the congregation of Israel: (and all the congregation of Israel stood;)
15And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, which spake with his mouth unto David my father, and hath with his hand fulfilled it, saying,
16Since the day that I brought forth my people Israel out of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel to build an house, that my name might be therein; but I chose David to be over my people Israel.
17And it was in the heart of David my father to build an house for the name of the LORD God of Israel.
18And the LORD said unto David my father, Whereas it was in thine heart to build an house unto my name, thou didst well that it was in thine heart.
19Nevertheless thou shalt not build the house; but thy son that shall come forth out of thy loins, he shall build the house unto my name.
20And the LORD hath performed his word that he spake, and I am risen up in the room of David my father, and sit on the throne of Israel, as the LORD promised, and have built an house for the name of the LORD God of Israel.
21And I have set there a place for the ark, wherein is the covenant of the LORD, which he made with our fathers, when he brought them out of the land of Egypt.
22And Solomon stood before the altar of the LORD in the presence of all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven:
23And he said, LORD God of Israel, there is no God like thee, in heaven above, or on earth beneath, who keepest covenant and mercy with thy servants that walk before thee with all their heart:
24Who hast kept with thy servant David my father that thou promisedst him: thou spakest also with thy mouth, and hast fulfilled it with thine hand, as it is this day.
25Therefore now, LORD God of Israel, keep with thy servant David my father that thou promisedst him, saying, There shall not fail thee a man in my sight to sit on the throne of Israel; so that thy children take heed to their way, that they walk before me as thou hast walked before me.
26And now, O God of Israel, let thy word, I pray thee, be verified, which thou spakest unto thy servant David my father.
27But will God indeed dwell on the earth? behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded?
28Yet have thou respect unto the prayer of thy servant, and to his supplication, O LORD my God, to hearken unto the cry and to the prayer, which thy servant prayeth before thee to day:
29That thine eyes may be open toward this house night and day, even toward the place of which thou hast said, My name shall be there: that thou mayest hearken unto the prayer which thy servant shall make toward this place.
30And hearken thou to the supplication of thy servant, and of thy people Israel, when they shall pray toward this place: and hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place: and when thou hearest, forgive.
31If any man trespass against his neighbour, and an oath be laid upon him to cause him to swear, and the oath come before thine altar in this house:
32Then hear thou in heaven, and do, and judge thy servants, condemning the wicked, to bring his way upon his head; and justifying the righteous, to give him according to his righteousness.
33When thy people Israel be smitten down before the enemy, because they have sinned against thee, and shall turn again to thee, and confess thy name, and pray, and make supplication unto thee in this house:
34Then hear thou in heaven, and forgive the sin of thy people Israel, and bring them again unto the land which thou gavest unto their fathers.
35When heaven is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against thee; if they pray toward this place, and confess thy name, and turn from their sin, when thou afflictest them:
36Then hear thou in heaven, and forgive the sin of thy servants, and of thy people Israel, that thou teach them the good way wherein they should walk, and give rain upon thy land, which thou hast given to thy people for an inheritance.
37If there be in the land famine, if there be pestilence, blasting, mildew, locust, or if there be caterpiller; if their enemy besiege them in the land of their cities; whatsoever plague, whatsoever sickness there be;
38What prayer and supplication soever be made by any man, or by all thy people Israel, which shall know every man the plague of his own heart, and spread forth his hands toward this house:
39Then hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place, and forgive, and do, and give to every man according to his ways, whose heart thou knowest; (for thou, even thou only, knowest the hearts of all the children of men;)
40That they may fear thee all the days that they live in the land which thou gavest unto our fathers.
41Moreover concerning a stranger, that is not of thy people Israel, but cometh out of a far country for thy name’s sake;
42(For they shall hear of thy great name, and of thy strong hand, and of thy stretched out arm;) when he shall come and pray toward this house;
43Hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place, and do according to all that the stranger calleth to thee for: that all people of the earth may know thy name, to fear thee, as do thy people Israel; and that they may know that this house, which I have builded, is called by thy name.
44If thy people go out to battle against their enemy, whithersoever thou shalt send them, and shall pray unto the LORD toward the city which thou hast chosen, and toward the house that I have built for thy name:
45Then hear thou in heaven their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause.
46If they sin against thee, (for there is no man that sinneth not,) and thou be angry with them, and deliver them to the enemy, so that they carry them away captives unto the land of the enemy, far or near;
47Yet if they shall bethink themselves in the land whither they were carried captives, and repent, and make supplication unto thee in the land of them that carried them captives, saying, We have sinned, and have done perversely, we have committed wickedness;
48And so return unto thee with all their heart, and with all their soul, in the land of their enemies, which led them away captive, and pray unto thee toward their land, which thou gavest unto their fathers, the city which thou hast chosen, and the house which I have built for thy name:
49Then hear thou their prayer and their supplication in heaven thy dwelling place, and maintain their cause,
50And forgive thy people that have sinned against thee, and all their transgressions wherein they have transgressed against thee, and give them compassion before them who carried them captive, that they may have compassion on them:
51For they be thy people, and thine inheritance, which thou broughtest forth out of Egypt, from the midst of the furnace of iron:
52That thine eyes may be open unto the supplication of thy servant, and unto the supplication of thy people Israel, to hearken unto them in all that they call for unto thee.
53For thou didst separate them from among all the people of the earth, to be thine inheritance, as thou spakest by the hand of Moses thy servant, when thou broughtest our fathers out of Egypt, O Lord GOD.
54And it was so, that when Solomon had made an end of praying all this prayer and supplication unto the LORD, he arose from before the altar of the LORD, from kneeling on his knees with his hands spread up to heaven.
55And he stood, and blessed all the congregation of Israel with a loud voice, saying,
56Blessed be the LORD, that hath given rest unto his people Israel, according to all that he promised: there hath not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by the hand of Moses his servant.
57The LORD our God be with us, as he was with our fathers: let him not leave us, nor forsake us:
58That he may incline our hearts unto him, to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and his statutes, and his judgments, which he commanded our fathers.
59And let these my words, wherewith I have made supplication before the LORD, be nigh unto the LORD our God day and night, that he maintain the cause of his servant, and the cause of his people Israel at all times, as the matter shall require:
60That all the people of the earth may know that the LORD is God, and that there is none else.
61Let your heart therefore be perfect with the LORD our God, to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as at this day.
62And the king, and all Israel with him, offered sacrifice before the LORD.
63And Solomon offered a sacrifice of peace offerings, which he offered unto the LORD, two and twenty thousand oxen, and an hundred and twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the children of Israel dedicated the house of the LORD.
64The same day did the king hallow the middle of the court that was before the house of the LORD: for there he offered burnt offerings, and meat offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings: because the brasen altar that was before the LORD was too little to receive the burnt offerings, and meat offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings.
65And at that time Solomon held a feast, and all Israel with him, a great congregation, from the entering in of Hamath unto the river of Egypt, before the LORD our God, seven days and seven days, even fourteen days.
66On the eighth day he sent the people away: and they blessed the king, and went unto their tents joyful and glad of heart for all the goodness that the LORD had done for David his servant, and for Israel his people.

1Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel with all the heads of the tribes, the princes of the fathers’ households of the children of Israel, to King Solomon in Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the LORD’s covenant out of David’s city, which is Zion.
2All the men of Israel assembled themselves to King Solomon at the feast in the month Ethanim, which is the seventh month.
3All the elders of Israel came, and the priests picked up the ark.
4They brought up the LORD’s ark, the Tent of Meeting, and all the holy vessels that were in the Tent. The priests and the Levites brought these up.
5King Solomon and all the congregation of Israel, who were assembled to him, were with him before the ark, sacrificing sheep and cattle that could not be counted or numbered for multitude.
6The priests brought in the ark of the LORD’s covenant to its place, into the inner sanctuary of the house, to the most holy place, even under the cherubim’s wings.
7For the cherubim spread their wings out over the place of the ark, and the cherubim covered the ark and its poles above.
8The poles were so long that the ends of the poles were seen from the holy place before the inner sanctuary, but they were not seen outside. They are there to this day.
9There was nothing in the ark except the two stone tablets which Moses put there at Horeb, when the LORD made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt.
10It came to pass, when the priests had come out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the LORD’s house,
11so that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud; for the LORD’s glory filled the LORD’s house.
12Then Solomon said, “The LORD has said that he would dwell in the thick darkness.
13I have surely built you a house of habitation, a place for you to dwell in forever.”
14The king turned his face around and blessed all the assembly of Israel; and all the assembly of Israel stood.
15He said, “Blessed is the LORD, the God of Israel, who spoke with his mouth to David your father, and has with his hand fulfilled it, saying,
16‘Since the day that I brought my people Israel out of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel to build a house, that my name might be there; but I chose David to be over my people Israel.’
17“Now it was in the heart of David my father to build a house for the name of the LORD, the God of Israel.
18But the LORD said to David my father, ‘Whereas it was in your heart to build a house for my name, you did well that it was in your heart.
19Nevertheless, you shall not build the house; but your son who shall come out of your body, he shall build the house for my name.’
20The LORD has established his word that he spoke; for I have risen up in the place of David my father, and I sit on the throne of Israel, as the LORD promised, and have built the house for the name of the LORD, the God of Israel.
21There I have set a place for the ark, in which is the LORD’s covenant, which he made with our fathers when he brought them out of the land of Egypt.”
22Solomon stood before the LORD’s altar in the presence of all the assembly of Israel, and spread out his hands toward heaven;
23and he said, “LORD, the God of Israel, there is no God like you, in heaven above, or on earth beneath; who keeps covenant and loving kindness with your servants who walk before you with all their heart;
24who has kept with your servant David my father that which you promised him. Yes, you spoke with your mouth, and have fulfilled it with your hand, as it is today.
25Now therefore, may LORD, the God of Israel, keep with your servant David my father that which you have promised him, saying, ‘There shall not fail from you a man in my sight to sit on the throne of Israel, if only your children take heed to their way, to walk before me as you have walked before me.’
26“Now therefore, God of Israel, please let your word be verified, which you spoke to your servant David my father.
27But will God in very deed dwell on the earth? Behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens can’t contain you; how much less this house that I have built!
28Yet have respect for the prayer of your servant and for his supplication, LORD my God, to listen to the cry and to the prayer which your servant prays before you today;
29that your eyes may be open toward this house night and day, even toward the place of which you have said, ‘My name shall be there;’ to listen to the prayer which your servant prays toward this place.
