1UND Salomo war Herrscher über alle Königreiche vom (Euphrat-)Strome an bis zum Lande der Philister und bis an die Grenze Ägyptens; die brachten Abgaben und waren Salomo untertan sein Leben lang. (a) 1Mo 15:18
2Salomo aber bedurfte zum Unterhalt täglich dreissig Kor Semmelmehl und sechzig Kor gewöhnliches Mehl,
3zehn gemästete Rinder, zwanzig Weiderinder und hundert Schafe, ausserdem Hirsche, Gazellen, Damhirsche und gemästetes Geflügel.
4Denn er herrschte über das ganze Land jenseits des (Euphrat-)Stromes von Thiphsah bis nach Gaza, über alle Könige jenseits des Stromes, und er hatte Frieden auf allen Seiten ringsum, (1) d.h. hier "westlich", weil von Assyrien oder Babylon aus betrachtet.
5sodass Juda und Israel sicher wohnten, ein jeder unter seinem Weinstock und unter seinem Feigenbaum, von Dan bis Beerseba, solange Salomo lebte. (a) Ri 20:1; Mi 4:4
6Und Salomo hatte viertausend Gespann Rosse für seine Wagen und zwölftausend Reitpferde. (a) 2Ch 9:25
7Und jene Statthalter versorgten den König Salomo und alle, die zum Tische des Königs Salomo Zutritt hatten, ein jeder während seines Monats; sie liessen es an nichts fehlen.
8Auch die Gerste und das Stroh für die Rosse und Wagenpferde brachten sie an den Ort, wohin es gehörte, ein jeder, wie es ihm zukam.
9UND Gott gab Salomo Weisheit und hohe Einsicht und einen Verstand so weitreichend wie der Sand am Gestade des Meeres.
10Und die Weisheit Salomos war grösser als die Weisheit aller Söhne des Morgenlandes und als alle Weisheit Ägyptens.
11Er war weiser als alle Menschen, weiser als Ethan, der Esrahite, und Heman, Chalchol und Darda, die Söhne Mahols, und er war berühmt bei allen Völkern ringsumher. (a) 1Ch 2:6
12Und er dichtete dreitausend Sprüche, und seiner Lieder waren 1 005.
13Er redete von den Bäumen, von der Zeder auf dem Libanon bis zum Ysop, der aus der Mauer wächst. Auch redete er von den grossen Tieren, von den Vögeln, vom Gewürm und von den Fischen.
14Und aus allen Völkern kamen Leute, die Weisheit Salomos zu hören, und von allen Königen auf Erden, die von seiner Weisheit gehört hatten, empfing er Geschenke.
15UND Hiram, der König von Tyrus, sandte seine Diener zu Salomo; denn er hatte gehört, dass man ihn an seines Vaters Statt zum Könige gesalbt hatte. Hiram war nämlich zeitlebens mit David befreundet gewesen. (a) 2Sa 5:11
16Und Salomo sandte zu Hiram und liess ihm sagen: (a) 2Ch 2:3
17Du weisst selbst, dass mein Vater David dem Namen des Herrn, seines Gottes, kein Haus bauen konnte wegen der Kriege, mit denen seine Feinde ihn rings bedrängten, bis sie der Herr ihm unter die Fußsohlen legte. (a) 1Ch 28:3
18Nun aber hat mir der Herr, mein Gott, auf allen Seiten Ruhe gegeben; kein Widersacher ist mehr da, kein Missgeschick. So gedenke ich denn nun dem Namen des Herrn, meines Gottes, ein Haus zu bauen, wie der Herr meinem Vater David verheissen hat: "Dein Sohn, den ich an deiner Statt auf deinen Thron setzen werde, der soll meinem Namen das Haus bauen." (a) 2Sa 7:13; 1Ch 22:10 So gebiete nun, dass man mir Zedern fälle auf dem Libanon; meine Knechte sollen deinen Knechten helfen, und den Lohn für deine Knechte will ich dir bezahlen, ganz wie du es verlangst. Du weisst ja, dass niemand unter uns ist, der Holz zu fällen versteht wie die Sidonier. Als nun Hiram die Botschaft Salomos hörte, war er hocherfreut und sprach: Gepriesen sei heute der Herr, der dem David einen weisen Sohn gegeben hat über dieses grosse Volk! Dann sandte Hiram zu Salomo und liess ihm sagen: Ich habe gehört, was du mir entboten hast; ich will all dein Begehren nach Zedern- und Zypressenstämmen erfüllen. Meine Knechte sollen sie vom Libanon ins Meer hinabschaffen; darnach will ich sie auf dem Meere flössen lassen bis an den Ort, den du mir bestimmen wirst. Dort will ich sie wieder auseinandernehmen, und du lässest sie dann holen. Du aber sollst auch mein Begehren erfüllen und meinem Hofe Speise liefern. Also lieferte Hiram dem Salomo Zedern- und Zypressenholz, soviel er haben wollte. Salomo aber lieferte dem Hiram 20 000 Kor Weizen zum Unterhalt für seinen Hof und 20 000 Bath vom feinsten Öl. So viel lieferte Salomo dem Hiram Jahr für Jahr. Und der Herr gab Salomo Weisheit, wie er ihm verheissen hatte; und es war Friede zwischen Hiram und Salomo, und sie schlossen einen Vertrag miteinander. Der König Salomo aber hob aus ganz Israel Fronarbeiter aus; es waren ihrer 30 000. Und er sandte sie abwechselnd auf den Libanon, jeden Monat zehntausend Mann: einen Monat waren sie auf dem Libanon und zwei Monate daheim. Und Adoniram war über die Fronarbeiter gesetzt. (a) 1Kön 4:6 Auch hatte Salomo 70 000 Lastträger und 80 000 Steinmetzen im Gebirge (Juda), ohne die Aufseher Salomos, die über die Arbeit gesetzt waren, nämlich 3 300, die den Arbeitern zu gebieten hatten. Und sie brachen auf Geheiss des Königs grosse, kostbare Steine, um den Grund des Tempels mit Quadern zu legen. Die Bauleute Salomos und die Bauleute Hirams und die Leute von Gebal behieben sie dann und richteten Holz und Steine zum Bau des Tempels her.

1HIRAM rey de Tiro envió también sus siervos á Salomón, luego que oyó que lo habían ungido por rey en lugar de su padre: porque Hiram había siempre amado á David.
2Entonces Salomón envió á decir á Hiram:
3Tú sabes como mi padre David no pudo edificar casa al nombre de Jehová su Dios, por las guerras que le cercaron, hasta que Jehová puso sus enemigos bajo las plantas de sus pies.
4Ahora Jehová mi Dios me ha dado reposo por todas partes; que ni hay adversarios, ni mal encuentro.
5Yo por tanto he determinado ahora edificar casa al nombre de Jehová mi Dios, como Jehová lo habló á David mi padre, diciendo: Tu hijo, que yo pondré en lugar tuyo en tu trono, él edificará casa á mi nombre.
6Manda pues ahora que me corten cedros del Líbano; y mis siervos estarán con los tuyos, y yo te daré por tus siervos el salario que tú dijeres: porque tú sabes bien que ninguno hay entre nosotros que sepa labrar la madera como los Sidonios.
7Y como Hiram oyó las palabras de Salomón, holgóse en gran manera, y dijo: Bendito sea hoy Jehová, que dió hijo sabio á David sobre este pueblo tan grande.
8Y envió Hiram á decir á Salomón: He oído lo que me mandaste á decir: yo haré todo lo que te pluguiere acerca de la madera de cedro, y la madera de haya.
9Mis siervos la llevarán desde el Líbano á la mar; y yo la pondré en balsas por la mar hasta el lugar que tú me señalares, y allí se desatará, y tú la tomarás: y tú harás mi voluntad en dar de comer á mi familia.
10Dió pues Hiram á Salomón madera de cedro y madera de haya todo lo que quiso.
11Y Salomón daba á Hiram veinte mil coros de trigo para el sustento de su familia, y veinte coros de aceite limpio: esto daba Salomón á Hiram cada un año.
12Dió pues Jehová á Salomón sabiduría como le había dicho: y hubo paz entre Hiram y Salomón, é hicieron alianza entre ambos.
13Y el rey Salomón impuso tributo á todo Israel, y el tributo fué de treinta mil hombres:
14Los cuales enviaba al Líbano de diez mil en diez mil, cada mes por su turno, viniendo así á estar un mes en el Líbano, y dos meses en sus casas: y Adoniram estaba sobre aquel tributo.
15Tenía también Salomón setenta mil que llevaban las cargas, y ochenta mil cortadores en el monte;
16Sin los principales oficiales de Salomón que estaban sobre la obra, tres mil y trescientos, los cuales tenían cargo del pueblo que hacía la obra.
17Y mandó el rey que trajesen grandes piedras, piedras de precio, para los cimientos de la casa, y piedras labradas.
18Y los albañiles de Salomón y los de Hiram, y los aparejadores, cortaron y aparejaron la madera y la cantería para labrar la casa.

1And Hiram king of Tyre sent his servants unto Solomon; for he had heard that they had anointed him king in the room of his father: for Hiram was ever a lover of David.
2And Solomon sent to Hiram, saying,
3Thou knowest how that David my father could not build an house unto the name of the LORD his God for the wars which were about him on every side, until the LORD put them under the soles of his feet.
4But now the LORD my God hath given me rest on every side, so that there is neither adversary nor evil occurrent.
5And, behold, I purpose to build an house unto the name of the LORD my God, as the LORD spake unto David my father, saying, Thy son, whom I will set upon thy throne in thy room, he shall build an house unto my name.
6Now therefore command thou that they hew me cedar trees out of Lebanon; and my servants shall be with thy servants: and unto thee will I give hire for thy servants according to all that thou shalt appoint: for thou knowest that there is not among us any that can skill to hew timber like unto the Sidonians.
7And it came to pass, when Hiram heard the words of Solomon, that he rejoiced greatly, and said, Blessed be the LORD this day, which hath given unto David a wise son over this great people.
8And Hiram sent to Solomon, saying, I have considered the things which thou sentest to me for: and I will do all thy desire concerning timber of cedar, and concerning timber of fir.
9My servants shall bring them down from Lebanon unto the sea: and I will convey them by sea in floats unto the place that thou shalt appoint me, and will cause them to be discharged there, and thou shalt receive them: and thou shalt accomplish my desire, in giving food for my household.
10So Hiram gave Solomon cedar trees and fir trees according to all his desire.
11And Solomon gave Hiram twenty thousand measures of wheat for food to his household, and twenty measures of pure oil: thus gave Solomon to Hiram year by year.
12And the LORD gave Solomon wisdom, as he promised him: and there was peace between Hiram and Solomon; and they two made a league together.
13And king Solomon raised a levy out of all Israel; and the levy was thirty thousand men.
14And he sent them to Lebanon, ten thousand a month by courses: a month they were in Lebanon, and two months at home: and Adoniram was over the levy.
15And Solomon had threescore and ten thousand that bare burdens, and fourscore thousand hewers in the mountains;
16Beside the chief of Solomon’s officers which were over the work, three thousand and three hundred, which ruled over the people that wrought in the work.
17And the king commanded, and they brought great stones, costly stones, and hewed stones, to lay the foundation of the house.
18And Solomon’s builders and Hiram’s builders did hew them, and the stonesquarers: so they prepared timber and stones to build the house.

1Hiram king of Tyre sent his servants to Solomon, for he had heard that they had anointed him king in the place of his father, and Hiram had always loved David.
2Solomon sent to Hiram, saying,
3“You know that David my father could not build a house for the name of the LORD his God because of the wars which were around him on every side, until the LORD put his enemies under the soles of his feet.
4But now the LORD my God has given me rest on every side. There is no enemy and no evil occurrence.
5Behold, I intend to build a house for the name of the LORD my God, as the LORD spoke to David my father, saying, ‘Your son, whom I will set on your throne in your place shall build the house for my name.’
6Now therefore command that cedar trees be cut for me out of Lebanon. My servants will be with your servants; and I will give you wages for your servants according to all that you say. For you know that there is nobody among us who knows how to cut timber like the Sidonians.”
7When Hiram heard the words of Solomon, he rejoiced greatly, and said, “Blessed is the LORD today, who has given to David a wise son to rule over this great people.”
8Hiram sent to Solomon, saying, “I have heard the message which you have sent to me. I will do all your desire concerning timber of cedar, and concerning cypress timber.
9My servants will bring them down from Lebanon to the sea. I will make them into rafts to go by sea to the place that you specify to me, and will cause them to be broken up there, and you will receive them. You will accomplish my desire, in giving food for my household.”
10So Hiram gave Solomon cedar timber and cypress timber according to all his desire.
11Solomon gave Hiram twenty thousand cors of wheat for food to his household, and twenty cors of pure oil. Solomon gave this to Hiram year by year.
12The LORD gave Solomon wisdom, as he promised him. There was peace between Hiram and Solomon, and the two of them made a treaty together.
13King Solomon raised a levy out of all Israel; and the levy was thirty thousand men.
14He sent them to Lebanon, ten thousand a month by courses: for a month they were in Lebanon, and two months at home; and Adoniram was over the men subject to forced labor.
15Solomon had seventy thousand who bore burdens, and eighty thousand who were stone cutters in the mountains,
16besides Solomon’s chief officers who were over the work: three thousand three hundred who ruled over the people who labored in the work.
17The king commanded, and they cut out large stones, costly stones, to lay the foundation of the house with worked stone.
18Solomon’s builders and Hiram’s builders and the Gebalites cut them, and prepared the timber and the stones to build the house.
