1Und Salomoh war Herrscher über all die Königreiche vom Flusse zum Land der Philister und bis an die Grenze Ägyptens. Sie brachten Geschenke herbei und dienten Salomoh alle Tage seines Lebens.
2Und das Brot Salomohs für einen Tag war dreißig Kor Semmelmehl und sechzig Kor Mehl.
3Zehn gemästete Rinder und zwanzig Rinder der Weide und hundert vom Kleinvieh, ohne die Hirsche und Rehe und Damhirsche und fettgemachtes Geflügel.
4Denn er beherrschte das ganze Gebiet des Flusses von Thiphsach und bis Gaza, über alle Könige diesseits des Flusses, und hatte Frieden von allen seinen Knechten ringsumher.
5Und Judah und Israel wohnten in Sicherheit, jeder Mann unter seinem Weinstock und unter seinem Feigenbaum, von Dan und bis Beer-Scheba alle Tage Salomohs.
6Und Salomoh hatte vierzigtausend Stände für Pferde für seine Streitwagen und zwölftausend Reiter.
7Und diese Beamten versorgten den König Salomoh und alle, die zum Tische des Königs Salomoh nahten, jeder Mann in seinem Monat, und ließen es an nichts fehlen.
8Und die Gerste und das Stroh für die Pferde und die Renner brachten sie an den Ort, wo sie waren, jeder Mann nach seiner Anweisung.
9Und Gott gab dem Salomoh Weisheit und sehr viel Einsicht und ein weites Herz wie der Sand am Ufer des Meeres.
10Und der Weisheit Salomohs war mehr als der Weisheit aller Söhne des Ostens und als aller Weisheit Ägyptens.
11Und er war weiser als alle Menschen, als Ethan, der Esrachite, und als Heman und Chalkol und Darda, die Söhne Machols, und sein Name war unter allen Völkerschaften ringsumher.
12Und er redete dreitausend Sprüche und seine Lieder waren tausendfünf.
13Und er redete über die Bäume, von der Zeder auf dem Libanon und bis zum Ysop, der aus der Wand herauskommt, und er redete vom Vieh und vom Gevögel und vom Kriechtier und von den Fischen.
14Und sie kamen von allen Völkern, zu hören die Weisheit Salomohs, von allen Königen der Erde, die von seiner Weisheit gehört.
15Und Chiram, der König von Zor, sandte seine Knechte an Salomoh, da er hörte, daß sie ihn an seines Vaters Stelle zum König gesalbt, weil Chiram alle seine Tage den David liebte.
16Und Salomoh sandte zu Chiram und ließ ihm sagen:
17Du weißt, daß David, mein Vater, nicht vermochte, dem Namen Jehovahs, seines Gottes, ein Haus zu bauen vor dem Streite, mit dem sie ihn umgaben, bis Jehovah sie unter die Sohlen seiner Füße gab.
18Nun aber hat mir Jehovah, mein Gott, von denen ringsumher Ruhe geschafft: Kein Widersacher und kein böser Anstoß ist da. Und siehe, ich spreche davon, dem Namen Jehovahs, meines Gottes, ein Haus zu bauen, wie Jehovah zu David, meinem Vater, geredet hat und gesagt: Dein Sohn, den Ich an deiner Stelle auf deinen Thron geben werde, der wird Meinem Namen das Haus bauen. Und nun gebiete du, daß sie mir Zedern vom Libanon umhauen, und meine Knechte sollen mit deinen Knechten sein, und ich werde dir den Lohn für deine Knechte geben nach allem, das du sagen wirst; denn du weißt, daß unter uns kein Mann weiß Holz umzuhauen wie die Sidonier. Und es geschah, da Chiram die Worte Salomohs hörte, ward er sehr fröhlich und sprach: Gesegnet sei Jehovah an diesem Tage, Der dem David einen weisen Sohn gegeben über dies viele Volk. Und Chiram sandte an Salomoh und ließ sagen: Ich habe gehört, um was du zu mir gesandt hast, und ich werde alles tun wie du Lust hast, mit Zederbäumen und Tannenbäumen. Meine Knechte sollen sie vom Libanon an das Meer herabbringen, und ich will sie in Flöße legen auf dem Meer bis zu dem Orte, über den du an mich senden wirst, und sie da auseinandernehmen, daß du sie tragen kannst; und du sollst tun, wie ich Lust habe, meinem Hause Brot zu geben. Und Chiram gab dem Salomoh Zedernbäume und Tannenbäume, wie er Lust hatte. Salomoh aber gab dem Chiram zwanzigtausend Kor Weizen zur Speise für sein Haus, und zwanzig Kor gestoßenes Öl. So gab Salomoh dem Chiram Jahr für Jahr. Und Jehovah gab Salomoh Weisheit, wie Er zu ihm geredet hatte, und es war Friede zwischen Chiram und Salomoh, und die zwei schlossen einen Bund. Und König Salomoh ließ eine Fron hinaufziehen aus ganz Israel, und die Fron war dreißigtausend Mann. Und er sandte sie zum Libanon, zehntausend des Monats, die da abwechselten, einen Monat waren sie auf dem Libanon, zwei Monate in ihrem Hause. Und Adoniram war über die Frone. Und Salomoh hatte siebzigtausend, die Bürden trugen, und achtzigtausend Hauer auf dem Gebirge. Ohne die Obersten der Beamten Salomohs, die über das Werk waren, dreitausenddreihundert, die das Volk beherrschten, wel- ches das Werk tat. Und der König gebot, daß sie große Steine, kostbare Steine ausbrächen, um das Haus zu gründen mit gehauenen Steinen. Und die Bauleute Salomohs und die Bauleute Chirams und die Gibbiter behauten sie und bereiteten das Holz und die Steine, zu bauen das Haus.

1HIRAM rey de Tiro envió también sus siervos á Salomón, luego que oyó que lo habían ungido por rey en lugar de su padre: porque Hiram había siempre amado á David.
2Entonces Salomón envió á decir á Hiram:
3Tú sabes como mi padre David no pudo edificar casa al nombre de Jehová su Dios, por las guerras que le cercaron, hasta que Jehová puso sus enemigos bajo las plantas de sus pies.
4Ahora Jehová mi Dios me ha dado reposo por todas partes; que ni hay adversarios, ni mal encuentro.
5Yo por tanto he determinado ahora edificar casa al nombre de Jehová mi Dios, como Jehová lo habló á David mi padre, diciendo: Tu hijo, que yo pondré en lugar tuyo en tu trono, él edificará casa á mi nombre.
6Manda pues ahora que me corten cedros del Líbano; y mis siervos estarán con los tuyos, y yo te daré por tus siervos el salario que tú dijeres: porque tú sabes bien que ninguno hay entre nosotros que sepa labrar la madera como los Sidonios.
7Y como Hiram oyó las palabras de Salomón, holgóse en gran manera, y dijo: Bendito sea hoy Jehová, que dió hijo sabio á David sobre este pueblo tan grande.
8Y envió Hiram á decir á Salomón: He oído lo que me mandaste á decir: yo haré todo lo que te pluguiere acerca de la madera de cedro, y la madera de haya.
9Mis siervos la llevarán desde el Líbano á la mar; y yo la pondré en balsas por la mar hasta el lugar que tú me señalares, y allí se desatará, y tú la tomarás: y tú harás mi voluntad en dar de comer á mi familia.
10Dió pues Hiram á Salomón madera de cedro y madera de haya todo lo que quiso.
11Y Salomón daba á Hiram veinte mil coros de trigo para el sustento de su familia, y veinte coros de aceite limpio: esto daba Salomón á Hiram cada un año.
12Dió pues Jehová á Salomón sabiduría como le había dicho: y hubo paz entre Hiram y Salomón, é hicieron alianza entre ambos.
13Y el rey Salomón impuso tributo á todo Israel, y el tributo fué de treinta mil hombres:
14Los cuales enviaba al Líbano de diez mil en diez mil, cada mes por su turno, viniendo así á estar un mes en el Líbano, y dos meses en sus casas: y Adoniram estaba sobre aquel tributo.
15Tenía también Salomón setenta mil que llevaban las cargas, y ochenta mil cortadores en el monte;
16Sin los principales oficiales de Salomón que estaban sobre la obra, tres mil y trescientos, los cuales tenían cargo del pueblo que hacía la obra.
17Y mandó el rey que trajesen grandes piedras, piedras de precio, para los cimientos de la casa, y piedras labradas.
18Y los albañiles de Salomón y los de Hiram, y los aparejadores, cortaron y aparejaron la madera y la cantería para labrar la casa.
King James Version
1And Hiram king of Tyre sent his servants unto Solomon; for he had heard that they had anointed him king in the room of his father: for Hiram was ever a lover of David.
2And Solomon sent to Hiram, saying,
3Thou knowest how that David my father could not build an house unto the name of the LORD his God for the wars which were about him on every side, until the LORD put them under the soles of his feet.
4But now the LORD my God hath given me rest on every side, so that there is neither adversary nor evil occurrent.
5And, behold, I purpose to build an house unto the name of the LORD my God, as the LORD spake unto David my father, saying, Thy son, whom I will set upon thy throne in thy room, he shall build an house unto my name.
6Now therefore command thou that they hew me cedar trees out of Lebanon; and my servants shall be with thy servants: and unto thee will I give hire for thy servants according to all that thou shalt appoint: for thou knowest that there is not among us any that can skill to hew timber like unto the Sidonians.
7And it came to pass, when Hiram heard the words of Solomon, that he rejoiced greatly, and said, Blessed be the LORD this day, which hath given unto David a wise son over this great people.
8And Hiram sent to Solomon, saying, I have considered the things which thou sentest to me for: and I will do all thy desire concerning timber of cedar, and concerning timber of fir.
9My servants shall bring them down from Lebanon unto the sea: and I will convey them by sea in floats unto the place that thou shalt appoint me, and will cause them to be discharged there, and thou shalt receive them: and thou shalt accomplish my desire, in giving food for my household.
10So Hiram gave Solomon cedar trees and fir trees according to all his desire.
11And Solomon gave Hiram twenty thousand measures of wheat for food to his household, and twenty measures of pure oil: thus gave Solomon to Hiram year by year.
12And the LORD gave Solomon wisdom, as he promised him: and there was peace between Hiram and Solomon; and they two made a league together.
13And king Solomon raised a levy out of all Israel; and the levy was thirty thousand men.
14And he sent them to Lebanon, ten thousand a month by courses: a month they were in Lebanon, and two months at home: and Adoniram was over the levy.
15And Solomon had threescore and ten thousand that bare burdens, and fourscore thousand hewers in the mountains;
16Beside the chief of Solomon’s officers which were over the work, three thousand and three hundred, which ruled over the people that wrought in the work.
17And the king commanded, and they brought great stones, costly stones, and hewed stones, to lay the foundation of the house.
18And Solomon’s builders and Hiram’s builders did hew them, and the stonesquarers: so they prepared timber and stones to build the house.

1Hiram king of Tyre sent his servants to Solomon, for he had heard that they had anointed him king in the place of his father, and Hiram had always loved David.
2Solomon sent to Hiram, saying,
3“You know that David my father could not build a house for the name of the LORD his God because of the wars which were around him on every side, until the LORD put his enemies under the soles of his feet.
4But now the LORD my God has given me rest on every side. There is no enemy and no evil occurrence.
5Behold, I intend to build a house for the name of the LORD my God, as the LORD spoke to David my father, saying, ‘Your son, whom I will set on your throne in your place shall build the house for my name.’
6Now therefore command that cedar trees be cut for me out of Lebanon. My servants will be with your servants; and I will give you wages for your servants according to all that you say. For you know that there is nobody among us who knows how to cut timber like the Sidonians.”
7When Hiram heard the words of Solomon, he rejoiced greatly, and said, “Blessed is the LORD today, who has given to David a wise son to rule over this great people.”
8Hiram sent to Solomon, saying, “I have heard the message which you have sent to me. I will do all your desire concerning timber of cedar, and concerning cypress timber.
9My servants will bring them down from Lebanon to the sea. I will make them into rafts to go by sea to the place that you specify to me, and will cause them to be broken up there, and you will receive them. You will accomplish my desire, in giving food for my household.”
10So Hiram gave Solomon cedar timber and cypress timber according to all his desire.
11Solomon gave Hiram twenty thousand cors of wheat for food to his household, and twenty cors of pure oil. Solomon gave this to Hiram year by year.
12The LORD gave Solomon wisdom, as he promised him. There was peace between Hiram and Solomon, and the two of them made a treaty together.
13King Solomon raised a levy out of all Israel; and the levy was thirty thousand men.
14He sent them to Lebanon, ten thousand a month by courses: for a month they were in Lebanon, and two months at home; and Adoniram was over the men subject to forced labor.
15Solomon had seventy thousand who bore burdens, and eighty thousand who were stone cutters in the mountains,
16besides Solomon’s chief officers who were over the work: three thousand three hundred who ruled over the people who labored in the work.
17The king commanded, and they cut out large stones, costly stones, to lay the foundation of the house with worked stone.
18Solomon’s builders and Hiram’s builders and the Gebalites cut them, and prepared the timber and the stones to build the house.
