1Also war Salomo ein Herr über alle Konigreiche, von dem Wasseran in der Philister Lande bis an die Grenze Agyptens, die ihm Geschenke zubrachten und dieneten ihm sein Leben lang.
2Und Salomo muftte taglich zur Speisung haben dreiftig Kor Semmelmehl und sechzig Kor ander Mehl,
3zehn gemastete Rinder und zwanzig Weiderinder und hundert Schafe, ausgenommen Hirsche und Rehe und Gemsen und gemastet Vieh.
4Denn er herrschete im ganzen Lande diesseit des Wassers, von Tiphsah bis gen Gasa, uber alle Konige diesseit des Wassers, und hatte Frieden von alien seinen Untertanen umher,
5daß Juda und Israel sicherwohneten, ein jeglicher unter seinem Weinstock und unter seinem Feigenbaum, von Dan bis gen Berseba, solange Salomo lebte.
6Und Salomo hatte vierzigtausend Wagenpferde und zwolftausend Reisige.
7Und die Amtleute versorgten den Konig Salomo und alles, was zum Tisch des Konigs gehorte, ein jeglicher in seinem Monden, und lieften nichts fehlen.
8Auch Gerste und Stroh fur die Rosse und Laufer brachten sie an den Ort, da er war, ein jeglicher nach seinem Befehl.
9Und Gott gab Salomo sehr grolie Weisheit und Verstand und getrost Herz wie Sand, der am Ufer des Meeres liegt,
10daß die Weisheit Salomos grafter war denn aller Kinder gegen Morgen und aller Agypter Weisheit.
11Und war weiser denn alle Menschen, auch weiser denn die Dichter, Ethan, der Esrahiter, Heman, Chalkol und Darda; und war berfihmt unter alien Heiden umher.
12Und erredete dreitausend Spruche, und seiner Lieder waren tausend und fünf.
13Und erredete von Baumen, von der Zeder an zu Libanon bis an den Ysop, der aus der Wand wachst. Auch redete er von Vieh, von Vogeln, von Gewürm, von Fischen.
14Und es kamen aus alien Volkern, zu horen die Weisheit Salomos, von alien Konigen auf Erden, die von seiner Weisheit gehoret hatten.
15Und Hiram, der Konig zu Tyrus, sandte seine Knechte zu Salomo; denn er hatte gehoret, daß sie ihn zum Konige gesalbet hatten an seines Vaters Statt. Denn Hiram liebte David sein Leben lang.
16Und Salomo sandte zu Hiram und lieft ihm sagen:
17Du weiftt, daß mein Vater David nicht konnte bauen ein Haus dem Namen des HERRN, seines Gottes, urn des Kriegs willen, der urn ihn her war, bis sie der HERR unter seine Fuftsohlen gab.
18Nun aber hat mirder HERR, mein Gott, Ruhe gegeben umher, daß kein Widersacher noch boses Hindernis mehr ist.
19Siehe, so habe ich gedacht, ein Haus zu bauen dem Namen des HERRN, meines Gottes, wie der HERR geredet hat zu meinem Vater David und gesagt: Dein Sohn, den ich an deine Statt setzen werde auf deinen Stuhl, der soil meinem Namen ein Haus bauen.
20So befiehl nun, daß man mir Zedern aus Libanon haue, und daß deine Knechte mit meinen Knechten seien. Und den Lohn deiner Knechte will ich dirgeben, alles, wie du sagest. Denn du weiftt, daß bei uns niemand ist, der Holz zu hauen wisse wie die Zidonier.
21Da Hiram aber horete die Worte Salomos, freuete er sich hoch und sprach: Gelobet sei der HERR heute, der David einen weisen Sohn gegeben hat uber dies grofte Volk!
22Und Hiram sandte zu Salomo und lieft ihm sagen: Ich habe gehoret, was du zu mir gesandt hast. Ich will tun nach all deinem Begehr mit Zedern und Tannenholz.
23Meine Knechte sollen sie von Libanon hinabbringen ans Meer; und will sie in Floften legen lassen auf dem Meer bis an den Ort, den du mir wirst ansagen lassen; und will sie daselbst abbinden, und du sollst es holen lassen. Aber du sollst auch mein Begehr tun und Speise geben meinem Gesinde.
24Also gab Hiram Salomo Zedern und Tannenholz nach all seinem Begehr.
25Salomo aber gab Hiram zwanzigtausend Kor Weizen zu essen fur sein Gesinde und zwanzig Kor gestoften Ol. Solches gab Salomo jahrlich dem Hiram.
26Und der HERR gab Salomo Weisheit, wie er ihm geredet hatte. Und war Friede zwischen Hiram und Salomo; und sie machten beide einen Bund miteinander.
27Und Salomo legte einen Anzahl auf das ganze Israel, und der Anzahl war dreiftigtausend Mann.
28Und sandte sie auf den Libanon, je einen Monden zehntausend, daß sie einen Monden auf dem Libanon waren und zween Monden daheim. Und Adoniram war uber solchen Anzahl.
29Und Salomo hatte siebenzigtausend, die Last trugen, und achtzigtausend, die da zimmerten auf dem Berge,
30ohne die obersten Amtleute Salomos, die fiber das Werk gesetzt waren, namlich dreitausend und dreihundert, welche fiber das Volk herrscheten, das da am Werk arbeitete.
31Und der Konig gebot, dafi sie grofie und kostliche Steine ausbrachen, namlich gehauene Steine zum Grund des Hauses.
32Und die Bauleute Salomos und die Bauleute Hirams und die Giblim hieben aus, und bereiteten zu Holz und Steine, zu bauen das Haus.

1HIRAM rey de Tiro envió también sus siervos á Salomón, luego que oyó que lo habían ungido por rey en lugar de su padre: porque Hiram había siempre amado á David.
2Entonces Salomón envió á decir á Hiram:
3Tú sabes como mi padre David no pudo edificar casa al nombre de Jehová su Dios, por las guerras que le cercaron, hasta que Jehová puso sus enemigos bajo las plantas de sus pies.
4Ahora Jehová mi Dios me ha dado reposo por todas partes; que ni hay adversarios, ni mal encuentro.
5Yo por tanto he determinado ahora edificar casa al nombre de Jehová mi Dios, como Jehová lo habló á David mi padre, diciendo: Tu hijo, que yo pondré en lugar tuyo en tu trono, él edificará casa á mi nombre.
6Manda pues ahora que me corten cedros del Líbano; y mis siervos estarán con los tuyos, y yo te daré por tus siervos el salario que tú dijeres: porque tú sabes bien que ninguno hay entre nosotros que sepa labrar la madera como los Sidonios.
7Y como Hiram oyó las palabras de Salomón, holgóse en gran manera, y dijo: Bendito sea hoy Jehová, que dió hijo sabio á David sobre este pueblo tan grande.
8Y envió Hiram á decir á Salomón: He oído lo que me mandaste á decir: yo haré todo lo que te pluguiere acerca de la madera de cedro, y la madera de haya.
9Mis siervos la llevarán desde el Líbano á la mar; y yo la pondré en balsas por la mar hasta el lugar que tú me señalares, y allí se desatará, y tú la tomarás: y tú harás mi voluntad en dar de comer á mi familia.
10Dió pues Hiram á Salomón madera de cedro y madera de haya todo lo que quiso.
11Y Salomón daba á Hiram veinte mil coros de trigo para el sustento de su familia, y veinte coros de aceite limpio: esto daba Salomón á Hiram cada un año.
12Dió pues Jehová á Salomón sabiduría como le había dicho: y hubo paz entre Hiram y Salomón, é hicieron alianza entre ambos.
13Y el rey Salomón impuso tributo á todo Israel, y el tributo fué de treinta mil hombres:
14Los cuales enviaba al Líbano de diez mil en diez mil, cada mes por su turno, viniendo así á estar un mes en el Líbano, y dos meses en sus casas: y Adoniram estaba sobre aquel tributo.
15Tenía también Salomón setenta mil que llevaban las cargas, y ochenta mil cortadores en el monte;
16Sin los principales oficiales de Salomón que estaban sobre la obra, tres mil y trescientos, los cuales tenían cargo del pueblo que hacía la obra.
17Y mandó el rey que trajesen grandes piedras, piedras de precio, para los cimientos de la casa, y piedras labradas.
18Y los albañiles de Salomón y los de Hiram, y los aparejadores, cortaron y aparejaron la madera y la cantería para labrar la casa.

1And Hiram king of Tyre sent his servants unto Solomon; for he had heard that they had anointed him king in the room of his father: for Hiram was ever a lover of David.
2And Solomon sent to Hiram, saying,
3Thou knowest how that David my father could not build an house unto the name of the LORD his God for the wars which were about him on every side, until the LORD put them under the soles of his feet.
4But now the LORD my God hath given me rest on every side, so that there is neither adversary nor evil occurrent.
5And, behold, I purpose to build an house unto the name of the LORD my God, as the LORD spake unto David my father, saying, Thy son, whom I will set upon thy throne in thy room, he shall build an house unto my name.
6Now therefore command thou that they hew me cedar trees out of Lebanon; and my servants shall be with thy servants: and unto thee will I give hire for thy servants according to all that thou shalt appoint: for thou knowest that there is not among us any that can skill to hew timber like unto the Sidonians.
7And it came to pass, when Hiram heard the words of Solomon, that he rejoiced greatly, and said, Blessed be the LORD this day, which hath given unto David a wise son over this great people.
8And Hiram sent to Solomon, saying, I have considered the things which thou sentest to me for: and I will do all thy desire concerning timber of cedar, and concerning timber of fir.
9My servants shall bring them down from Lebanon unto the sea: and I will convey them by sea in floats unto the place that thou shalt appoint me, and will cause them to be discharged there, and thou shalt receive them: and thou shalt accomplish my desire, in giving food for my household.
10So Hiram gave Solomon cedar trees and fir trees according to all his desire.
11And Solomon gave Hiram twenty thousand measures of wheat for food to his household, and twenty measures of pure oil: thus gave Solomon to Hiram year by year.
12And the LORD gave Solomon wisdom, as he promised him: and there was peace between Hiram and Solomon; and they two made a league together.
13And king Solomon raised a levy out of all Israel; and the levy was thirty thousand men.
14And he sent them to Lebanon, ten thousand a month by courses: a month they were in Lebanon, and two months at home: and Adoniram was over the levy.
15And Solomon had threescore and ten thousand that bare burdens, and fourscore thousand hewers in the mountains;
16Beside the chief of Solomon’s officers which were over the work, three thousand and three hundred, which ruled over the people that wrought in the work.
17And the king commanded, and they brought great stones, costly stones, and hewed stones, to lay the foundation of the house.
18And Solomon’s builders and Hiram’s builders did hew them, and the stonesquarers: so they prepared timber and stones to build the house.

1Hiram king of Tyre sent his servants to Solomon, for he had heard that they had anointed him king in the place of his father, and Hiram had always loved David.
2Solomon sent to Hiram, saying,
3“You know that David my father could not build a house for the name of the LORD his God because of the wars which were around him on every side, until the LORD put his enemies under the soles of his feet.
4But now the LORD my God has given me rest on every side. There is no enemy and no evil occurrence.
5Behold, I intend to build a house for the name of the LORD my God, as the LORD spoke to David my father, saying, ‘Your son, whom I will set on your throne in your place shall build the house for my name.’
6Now therefore command that cedar trees be cut for me out of Lebanon. My servants will be with your servants; and I will give you wages for your servants according to all that you say. For you know that there is nobody among us who knows how to cut timber like the Sidonians.”
7When Hiram heard the words of Solomon, he rejoiced greatly, and said, “Blessed is the LORD today, who has given to David a wise son to rule over this great people.”
8Hiram sent to Solomon, saying, “I have heard the message which you have sent to me. I will do all your desire concerning timber of cedar, and concerning cypress timber.
9My servants will bring them down from Lebanon to the sea. I will make them into rafts to go by sea to the place that you specify to me, and will cause them to be broken up there, and you will receive them. You will accomplish my desire, in giving food for my household.”
10So Hiram gave Solomon cedar timber and cypress timber according to all his desire.
11Solomon gave Hiram twenty thousand cors of wheat for food to his household, and twenty cors of pure oil. Solomon gave this to Hiram year by year.
12The LORD gave Solomon wisdom, as he promised him. There was peace between Hiram and Solomon, and the two of them made a treaty together.
13King Solomon raised a levy out of all Israel; and the levy was thirty thousand men.
14He sent them to Lebanon, ten thousand a month by courses: for a month they were in Lebanon, and two months at home; and Adoniram was over the men subject to forced labor.
15Solomon had seventy thousand who bore burdens, and eighty thousand who were stone cutters in the mountains,
16besides Solomon’s chief officers who were over the work: three thousand three hundred who ruled over the people who labored in the work.
17The king commanded, and they cut out large stones, costly stones, to lay the foundation of the house with worked stone.
18Solomon’s builders and Hiram’s builders and the Gebalites cut them, and prepared the timber and the stones to build the house.
