“Vos sabéis que mi padre David no pudo edificar casa al nombre de Yahvé su Dios por las guerras que le rodearon, hasta que Yahvé puso a sus enemigos bajo las plantas de sus pies.
Tú sabes como mi padre David no pudo edificar casa al nombre de Jehová su Dios, por las guerras que le cercaron, hasta que Jehová puso sus enemigos bajo las plantas de sus pies.
Thou knowest how that David my father could not build an house unto the name of the LORD his God for the wars which were about him on every side, until the LORD put them under the soles of his feet.
“You know that David my father could not build a house for the name of the LORD his God because of the wars which were around him on every side, until the LORD put his enemies under the soles of his feet.
Pero ahora Yahvé mi Dios me ha dado reposo por todas partes; pues no hay adversario ni mal que temer.

Yo, por tanto, he determinado edificar casa al nombre de Yahvé mi Dios, conforme a lo que Yahvé habló a mi padre David, diciendo: «Tu hijo, a quien yo pondré en tu trono en tu lugar, él edificará casa a mi nombre».

Mandad, pues, ahora que me corten cedros del Líbano; y mis siervos estarán con los vuestros, y yo os daré por vuestros siervos el salario que vos dijereis; porque sabéis bien que no hay entre nosotros quien sepa labrar madera como los sidonios”.

Now therefore command thou that they hew me cedar trees out of Lebanon; and my servants shall be with thy servants: and unto thee will I give hire for thy servants according to all that thou shalt appoint: for thou knowest that there is not among us any that can skill to hew timber like unto the Sidonians.
Now therefore command that cedar trees be cut for me out of Lebanon. My servants will be with your servants; and I will give you wages for your servants according to all that you say. For you know that there is nobody among us who knows how to cut timber like the Sidonians.”
Cuando Hiram oyó las palabras de Salomón, se alegró en gran manera y dijo: «Bendito sea hoy Yahvé, que dio a David hijo sabio sobre este pueblo tan grande».
Y como Hiram oyó las palabras de Salomón, holgóse en gran manera, y dijo: Bendito sea hoy Jehová, que dió hijo sabio á David sobre este pueblo tan grande.
And it came to pass, when Hiram heard the words of Solomon, that he rejoiced greatly, and said, Blessed be the LORD this day, which hath given unto David a wise son over this great people.

E envió Hiram a decir a Salomón: «He oído lo que me mandasteis a decir; yo haré todo lo que os plazca acerca de la madera de cedro y la madera de ciprés.
Y envió Hiram á decir á Salomón: He oído lo que me mandaste á decir: yo haré todo lo que te pluguiere acerca de la madera de cedro, y la madera de haya.
And Hiram sent to Solomon, saying, I have considered the things which thou sentest to me for: and I will do all thy desire concerning timber of cedar, and concerning timber of fir.

Mis siervos las llevarán desde el Líbano al mar, y yo las pondré en almadías para llevarlas por mar hasta el lugar que vos me señaléis, y allí las haré desatar y vos las recibiréis; y vos cumpliréis mi deseo dando de comer a mi familia».
