2Esta es la lista de los miembros del gobierno del rey Salomón: Azarías, hijo del sacerdote Sadoc; Elijoref y Ahías, hijos de Sisá, secretarios; Josafat hijo de Ajilud, cronista y encargado de los archivos; Benaías hijo de Joyadá, jefe del ejército; Sadoc y Abiatar, sacerdotes; Azarías hijo de Natán, a cargo de los gobernadores; Zabud hijo de Natán era sacerdote y consejero personal del rey; Ajisar, mayordomo del palacio; Adonirán hijo de Abdá, superintendente de obras públicas.

7Además, hubo doce funcionarios en la corte de Salomón, uno por cada tribu, que tenían la responsabilidad de abastecer de provisiones la casa del rey. Cada uno de ellos se ocupaba de las provisiones de uno de los meses del año.
8Los nombres de estos doce oficiales eran: Ben Jur, que tenía a su cargo la región montañosa de Efraín; Ben Decar, cuya zona era Macaz, Salbín, Bet Semes, y Elón Bet Janán; Ben Jésed, cuya zona era Arubot, incluyendo Soco y toda la tierra de Héfer; Ben Abinadab (que se casó con la hija de Salomón, la princesa Tafat), cuya área eran los territorios de Dor; Baná hijo de Ajilud, cuya área estaba compuesta por Tanac y Meguido, toda Betseán, que está cerca de Saretán, más abajo de Jezrel, y todo el territorio desde Betseán hasta Abel Mejolá, y hasta más allá de Jocmeán; Ben Guéber, cuya zona era Ramot de Galaad, incluyendo los pueblos de Yaír hijo de Manasés, en Galaad; y en la región de Argob, en Basán, incluyendo sesenta ciudades amuralladas, con puertas de bronce; Ajinadab hijo de Idó, cuyo territorio era Majanayin; Ajimaz (que se casó con Basemat, otra de las hijas de Salomón) tenía a su cargo el área de Neftalí; Baná hijo de Husay, cuyas zonas eran Aser y Alot; Josafat hijo de Parúaj, que tenía a su cargo Isacar; Simí hijo de Elá, cuya área era Benjamín; Guéber hijo de Uri, cuya área era Galaad, incluyendo los territorios de Sijón, rey de los amorreos, y de Og, rey de Basán. 20En ese tiempo, los pueblos de Israel y Judá eran tan numerosos, como la arena del mar, que no se puede contar. Además, tenían comida y bebidas en abundancia, y todos vivían muy felices.
21El rey Salomón gobernó toda la región que se extiende desde el río Éufrates hasta la tierra de los filisteos, y hasta las fronteras con Egipto. Los pueblos de esas tierras pagaban sus tributos a Salomón y continuaron sirviéndole a través de toda su vida.
22Las provisiones diarias para el palacio eran seis mil seiscientos kilos de harina fina, trece mil doscientos kilos de harina integral,
23diez bueyes gordos, veinte bueyes de pasto, cien ovejas, sin contar los ciervos, gacelas, corzos y aves gordas que de vez en cuando se consumían.
24Sus dominios se extendieron sobre todos los reinos que están al occidente del río Éufrates, desde Tifsa hasta Gaza. Y hubo paz en toda la tierra.
25Durante la vida de Salomón, todo Israel vivió en paz y seguridad; cada familia tenía su casa y su huerto.
26Salomón tenía cuarenta mil caballos para sus carros y empleaba doce mil jinetes.
27Cada mes los funcionarios proporcionaban los alimentos para Salomón y para su corte;
28también traían cebada y paja para los caballos que el rey tenía en los establos.
29Dios le dio a Salomón sabiduría, entendimiento y una mente llena de muchísimos conocimientos, tantos como la arena del mar.
30En efecto, su sabiduría superó la de cualquier sabio del oriente, incluyendo a los de Egipto.
31Era más sabio que Etán el ezraíta, y que Hemán, Calcol y Dardá, los hijos de Majol; y fue conocido en todas las naciones de alrededor.
32Escribió tres mil proverbios y mil cinco canciones.
33Fue un gran naturalista que estudió los animales, las aves, los reptiles, los peces y los árboles, desde los grandes cedros del Líbano hasta el minúsculo hisopo que crece en las grietas de las paredes.
34De todos los pueblos llegaba gente a escuchar la sabiduría de Salomón. Y los reyes que tenían noticias de su sabiduría enviaban mensajeros para solicitar su consejo.

2Y estos fueron los príncipes que tuvo: Azarías hijo de Sadoc, sacerdote;
3Elioreph y Ahía, hijos de Sisa, escribas; Josaphat hijo de Ahilud, canciller;
4Benaía hijo de Joiada era sobre el ejército; y Sadoc y Abiathar eran los sacerdotes;

12Baana hijo de Ahilud, en Taanach y Megiddo, y en toda Beth-san, que es cerca de Zaretán, por bajo de Jezreel, desde Beth-san hasta Abel-mehola, y hasta la otra parte de Jocmeam;

17Josaphat hijo de Pharua, en Issachâr;
18Semei hijo de Ela, en Benjamín;
19Geber hijo de Uri, en la tierra de Galaad, la tierra de Sehón rey de los Amorrheos, y de Og rey de Basán; éste era el único gobernador en aquella tierra.
20Judá é Israel eran muchos, como la arena que está junto á la mar en multitud, comiendo y bebiendo y alegrándose.
21Y Salomón señoreaba sobre todos los reinos, desde el río de la tierra de los Filisteos hasta el término de Egipto: y traían presentes, y sirvieron á Salomón todos los días que vivió.
22Y la despensa de Salomón era cada día treinta coros de flor de harina, y sesenta coros de harina.
23Diez bueyes engordados, y veinte bueyes de pasto, y cien ovejas; sin los ciervos, cabras, búfalos, y aves engordadas.
24Porque él señoreaba en toda la región que estaba de la otra parte del río, desde Tiphsa hasta Gaza, sobre todos los reyes de la otra parte del río; y tuvo paz por todos lados en derredor suyo.
25Y Judá é Israel vivían seguros, cada uno debajo de su parra y debajo de su higuera, desde Dan hasta Beer-seba, todos los días de Salomón.
26Tenía además de esto Salomón cuarenta mil caballos en sus caballerizas para sus carros, y doce mil jinetes.
27Y estos gobernadores mantenían al rey Salomón, y á todos los que á la mesa del rey Salomón venían, cada uno un mes; y hacían que nada faltase.
28Hacían también traer cebada y paja para los caballos y para las bestias de carga, al lugar donde él estaba, cada uno conforme al cargo que tenía.
29Y dió Dios á Salomón sabiduría, y prudencia muy grande, y anchura de corazón como la arena que está á la orilla del mar.
30Que fué mayor la sabiduría de Salomón que la de todos los orientales, y que toda la sabiduría de los Egipcios.
31Y aun fué más sabio que todos los hombres; más que Ethán Ezrahita, y que Emán y Calchôl y Darda, hijos de Mahol: y fué nombrado entre todas las naciones de alrededor.
32Y propuso tres mil parábolas; y sus versos fueron mil y cinco.
33También disertó de los árboles, desde el cedro del Líbano hasta el hisopo que nace en la pared. Asimismo disertó de los animales, de las aves, de los reptiles, y de los peces.
34Y venían de todos los pueblos á oir la sabiduría de Salomón, y de todos los reyes de la tierra, donde había llegado la fama de su sabiduría.

2And these were the princes which he had; Azariah the son of Zadok the priest,
3Elihoreph and Ahiah, the sons of Shisha, scribes; Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud, the recorder.
4And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the host: and Zadok and Abiathar were the priests:
5And Azariah the son of Nathan was over the officers: and Zabud the son of Nathan was principal officer, and the king’s friend:
6And Ahishar was over the household: and Adoniram the son of Abda was over the tribute.
7And Solomon had twelve officers over all Israel, which provided victuals for the king and his household: each man his month in a year made provision.
8And these are their names: The son of Hur, in mount Ephraim:

15Ahimaaz was in Naphtali; he also took Basmath the daughter of Solomon to wife:

18Shimei the son of Elah, in Benjamin:
19Geber the son of Uri was in the country of Gilead, in the country of Sihon king of the Amorites, and of Og king of Bashan; and he was the only officer which was in the land.
20Judah and Israel were many, as the sand which is by the sea in multitude, eating and drinking, and making merry.
21And Solomon reigned over all kingdoms from the river unto the land of the Philistines, and unto the border of Egypt: they brought presents, and served Solomon all the days of his life.
22And Solomon’s provision for one day was thirty measures of fine flour, and threescore measures of meal,
23Ten fat oxen, and twenty oxen out of the pastures, and an hundred sheep, beside harts, and roebucks, and fallowdeer, and fatted fowl.
24For he had dominion over all the region on this side the river, from Tiphsah even to Azzah, over all the kings on this side the river: and he had peace on all sides round about him.
25And Judah and Israel dwelt safely, every man under his vine and under his fig tree, from Dan even to Beer-sheba, all the days of Solomon.
26And Solomon had forty thousand stalls of horses for his chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen.
27And those officers provided victual for king Solomon, and for all that came unto king Solomon’s table, every man in his month: they lacked nothing.
28Barley also and straw for the horses and dromedaries brought they unto the place where the officers were, every man according to his charge.
29And God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding exceeding much, and largeness of heart, even as the sand that is on the sea shore.
30And Solomon’s wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the children of the east country, and all the wisdom of Egypt.
31For he was wiser than all men; than Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman, and Chalcol, and Darda, the sons of Mahol: and his fame was in all nations round about.
32And he spake three thousand proverbs: and his songs were a thousand and five.
33And he spake of trees, from the cedar tree that is in Lebanon even unto the hyssop that springeth out of the wall: he spake also of beasts, and of fowl, and of creeping things, and of fishes.
34And there came of all people to hear the wisdom of Solomon, from all kings of the earth, which had heard of his wisdom.

6Ahishar was over the household; and Adoniram the son of Abda was over the men subject to forced labor.
7Solomon had twelve officers over all Israel, who provided food for the king and his household. Each man had to make provision for a month in the year.

31For he was wiser than all men—wiser than Ethan the Ezrahite, Heman, Calcol, and Darda, the sons of Mahol; and his fame was in all the nations all around.
