1NACH diesen Ereignissen begab sich folgendes: Naboth von Jesreel hatte einen Weinberg in Jesreel neben dem Palaste Ahabs, des Königs von Samaria.
2Und Ahab redete mit Naboth und sprach: Gib mir deinen Weinberg, ich will mir einen Gemüsegarten daraus machen, weil er so nah bei meinem Palaste liegt. Ich gebe dir einen bessern Weinberg dafür, oder wenn es dir gefällt, will ich dir den Kaufpreis in Geld bezahlen.
3Naboth aber sprach zu Ahab: Davor bewahre mich der Herr, dass ich dir das Erbe meiner Väter geben sollte!
4Da ging Ahab heim, missmutig und voll Zorn über die Antwort, die Naboth von Jesreel ihm gegeben hatte, als er sprach: "Ich gebe dir das Erbe meiner Väter nicht." Und er legte sich auf sein Bette, wandte sein Angesicht gegen die Wand und ass nichts.
5Da kam sein Weib Isebel zu ihm herein und fragte ihn: Warum bist du denn so missmutig und issest nichts?
6Er antwortete ihr: Ich habe mit Naboth von Jesreel geredet und zu ihm gesagt: "Gib mir deinen Weinberg um bares Geld, oder wenn es dir lieber ist, will ich dir einen andern dafür geben." Er aber sagte: "Ich gebe dir meinen Weinberg nicht."
7Da sprach sein Weib Isebel zu ihm: Führst eigentlich du noch das Regiment in Israel? Steh auf und iss und sei guten Mutes! Ich verschaffe dir den Weinberg Naboths von Jesreel.
8Und sie schrieb Briefe im Namen Ahabs, versiegelte sie mit seinem Siegel und sandte sie an die Ältesten und an die Vornehmen, die mit Naboth zusammen in der Stadt wohnten.
9In den Briefen schrieb sie: Ruft ein Fasten aus und lasst Naboth unter den Leuten obenan sitzen!
10Und setzt zwei nichtswürdige Menschen ihm gegenüber; die sollen wider ihn zeugen und sagen: "Du hast Gott und dem König geflucht." Dann führt ihn hinaus und steinigt ihn zu Tode. (a) 4Mo 35:30; 5Mo 19:15
11Und die Ältesten und die Vornehmen, seine Mitbürger, die in seiner Stadt wohnten, taten, wie ihnen Isebel entboten hatte, wie in den Briefen geschrieben war, die sie ihnen gesandt:
12sie riefen ein Fasten aus und liessen Naboth unter den Leuten obenan sitzen.
13Da kamen die zwei nichtswürdigen Menschen, setzten sich ihm gegenüber und legten vor den Leuten wider Naboth Zeugnis ab, indem sie sprachen: Naboth hat Gott und dem König geflucht. Da führten sie ihn vor die Stadt hinaus und steinigten ihn zu Tode. (a) 3Mo 24:14
14Dann sandten sie an Isebel und liessen ihr sagen: Naboth ist gesteinigt worden und ist tot.
15Als Isebel hörte, dass Naboth zu Tode gesteinigt worden sei, sprach sie zu Ahab: Steh auf und nimm den Weinberg, den Naboth von Jesreel dir um Geld nicht geben wollte, in Besitz. Naboth lebt nicht mehr; er ist tot.
16Als Ahab hörte, dass Naboth tot sei, stand er auf, um nach dem Weinberg Naboths von Jesreel hinabzugehen und ihn in Besitz zu nehmen.
17An Elia von Thisbe aber erging das Wort des Herrn:
18Mache dich auf, geh hinab und tritt vor Ahab, den König von Israel, der in Samaria wohnt - er ist eben in den Weinberg Naboths hinabgegangen, ihn in Besitz zu nehmen -,
19und sage zu ihm: So spricht der Herr: Hast du nach deiner Mordtat auch schon das Erbe angetreten? Und dann sage zu ihm: So spricht der Herr: An der Stätte, wo die Hunde das Blut Naboths geleckt haben, sollen die Hunde auch dein Blut lecken!
20Ahab sprach zu Elia: Hast du mich gefunden, mein Feind? Er antwortete: Ja, ich habe dich gefunden, weil du dich dazu hergegeben hast, zu tun, was dem Herrn missfällt.
21Siehe, ich will Unglück über dich bringen und dich wegfegen und will ausrotten von Ahabs Geschlecht alles, was männlich ist, Unmündige wie Mündige in Israel; (a) 1Kön 14:10; 2Kön 9:8
22ich will's mit deinem Hause machen wie mit dem Haus Jerobeams, des Sohnes Nebats, und wie mit dem Haus Baesas, des Sohnes Ahias, darum dass du (mich) zum Zorn gereizt und Israel zur Sünde verführt hast. (a) 1Kön 15:29; 16:11
23Auch über Isebel redete der Herr und sprach: Die Hunde sollen Isebel fressen auf dem Felde von Jesreel.
24Wer von Ahab in der Stadt stirbt, den sollen die Hunde fressen, und wer auf dem Felde stirbt, den sollen die Vögel des Himmels fressen.
25Gar niemand hat so wie Ahab sich dazu hergegeben, zu tun, was dem Herrn missfällt, da sein Weib Isebel ihn verleitete. (a) 1Kön 16:33
26Er handelte ganz abscheulich, indem er den Götzen nachlief, gerade wie die Amoriter getan, die der Herr vor Israel vertrieben hat. (a) 3Mo 18:24; Am 2:9
27Als Ahab jene Worte hörte, zerriss er seine Kleider, legte ein Trauergewand um den blossen Leib und fastete; auch schlief er im Trauergewand und ging gedrückt einher.
28Da erging an Elia von Thisbe das Wort des Herrn:
29Hast du gesehen, wie sich Ahab vor mir gedemütigt hat? Weil er sich nun vor mir gedemütigt, will ich das Unglück nicht schon zu seinen Lebzeiten herbeiführen; erst in den Tagen seines Sohnes will ich das Unglück über sein Haus bringen. (a) 2Kön 9:25

1PASADOS estos negocios, aconteció que Naboth de Jezreel tenía en Jezreel una viña junto al palacio de Achâb rey de Samaria.
2Y Achâb habló á Naboth, diciendo: Dame tu viña para un huerto de legumbres, porque está cercana, junto á mi casa, y yo te daré por ella otra viña mejor que esta; ó si mejor te pareciere, te pagaré su valor en dinero.
3Y Naboth respondió á Achâb: Guárdeme Jehová de que yo te dé á ti la heredad de mis padres.
4Y vínose Achâb á su casa triste y enojado, por la palabra que Naboth de Jezreel le había respondido, diciendo: No te daré la heredad de mis padres. Y acostóse en su cama, y volvió su rostro, y no comió pan.
5Y vino á él su mujer Jezabel, y díjole: ¿Por qué está tan triste tu espíritu, y no comes pan?
6Y él respondió: Porque hablé con Naboth de Jezreel, y díjele que me diera su viña por dinero, ó que, si más quería, le daría otra viña por ella; y él respondió: Yo no te daré mi viña.
7Y su mujer Jezabel le dijo: ¿Eres tú ahora rey sobre Israel? Levántate, y come pan, y alégrate: yo te daré la viña de Naboth de Jezreel.
8Entonces ella escribió cartas en nombre de Achâb, y sellólas con su anillo y enviólas á los ancianos y á los principales que moraban en su ciudad con Naboth.
9Y las cartas que escribió decían así: Proclamad ayuno, y poned á Naboth á la cabecera del pueblo;
10Y poned dos hombres perversos delante de él, que atestigüen contra él, y digan: Tú has blasfemado á Dios y al rey. Y entonces sacadlo, y apedreadlo, y muera.
11Y los de su ciudad, los ancianos y los principales que moraban en su ciudad, lo hicieron como Jezabel les mandó, conforme á lo escrito en las cartas que ella les había enviado.
12Y promulgaron ayuno, y asentaron á Naboth á la cabecera del pueblo.
13Vinieron entonces dos hombres perversos, y sentáronse delante de él: y aquellos hombres de Belial atestiguaron contra Naboth delante del pueblo, diciendo: Naboth ha blasfemado á Dios y al rey. Y sacáronlo fuera de la ciudad, y apedreáronlo con piedras, y murió.
14Después enviaron á decir á Jezabel: Naboth ha sido apedreado y muerto.
15Y como Jezabel oyó que Naboth había sido apedreado y muerto, dijo á Achâb: Levántate y posee la viña de Naboth de Jezreel, que no te la quiso dar por dinero; porque Naboth no vive, sino que es muerto.
16Y oyendo Achâb que Naboth era muerto, levantóse para descender á la viña de Naboth de Jezreel, para tomar posesión de ella.
17Entonces fué palabra de Jehová á Elías Thisbita, diciendo:
18Levántate, desciende á encontrarte con Achâb rey de Israel, que está en Samaria: he aquí él está en la viña de Naboth, á la cual ha descendido para tomar posesión de ella.
19Y hablarle has, diciendo: Así ha dicho Jehová: ¿No mataste y también has poseído? Y tornarás á hablarle, diciendo: Así ha dicho Jehová: En el mismo lugar donde lamieron los perros la sangre de Naboth, los perros lamerán también tu sangre, la tuya misma.
20Y Achâb dijo á Elías: ¿Me has hallado, enemigo mío? Y él respondió: Hete encontrado, porque te has vendido á mal hacer delante de Jehová.
21He aquí yo traigo mal sobre ti, y barreré tu posteridad, y talaré de Achâb todo meante á la pared, al guardado y al desamparado en Israel:
22Y yo pondré tu casa como la casa de Jeroboam hijo de Nabat, y como la casa de Baasa hijo de Ahía; por la provocación con que me provocaste á ira, y con que has hecho pecar á Israel.
23De Jezabel también ha hablado Jehová, diciendo: Los perros comerán á Jezabel en la barbacana de Jezreel.
24El que de Achâb fuere muerto en la ciudad, perros le comerán: y el que fuere muerto en el campo, comerlo han las aves del cielo.
25(A la verdad ninguno fué como Achâb, que se vendiese á hacer lo malo á los ojos de Jehová; porque Jezabel su mujer lo incitaba.
26El fué en grande manera abominable, caminando en pos de los ídolos, conforme á todo lo que hicieron los Amorrheos, á los cuales lanzó Jehová delante de los hijos de Israel.)
27Y acaeció cuando Achâb oyó estas palabras, que rasgó sus vestidos, y puso saco sobre su carne, y ayunó, y durmió en saco, y anduvo humillado.
28Entonces fué palabra de Jehová á Elías Thisbita, diciendo:
29¿No has visto como Achâb se ha humillado delante de mí? Pues por cuanto se ha humillado delante de mí, no traeré el mal en sus días: en los días de su hijo traeré el mal sobre su casa.

1And it came to pass after these things, that Naboth the Jezreelite had a vineyard, which was in Jezreel, hard by the palace of Ahab king of Samaria.
2And Ahab spake unto Naboth, saying, Give me thy vineyard, that I may have it for a garden of herbs, because it is near unto my house: and I will give thee for it a better vineyard than it; or, if it seem good to thee, I will give thee the worth of it in money.
3And Naboth said to Ahab, The LORD forbid it me, that I should give the inheritance of my fathers unto thee.
4And Ahab came into his house heavy and displeased because of the word which Naboth the Jezreelite had spoken to him: for he had said, I will not give thee the inheritance of my fathers. And he laid him down upon his bed, and turned away his face, and would eat no bread.
5But Jezebel his wife came to him, and said unto him, Why is thy spirit so sad, that thou eatest no bread?
6And he said unto her, Because I spake unto Naboth the Jezreelite, and said unto him, Give me thy vineyard for money; or else, if it please thee, I will give thee another vineyard for it: and he answered, I will not give thee my vineyard.
7And Jezebel his wife said unto him, Dost thou now govern the kingdom of Israel? arise, and eat bread, and let thine heart be merry: I will give thee the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite.
8So she wrote letters in Ahab’s name, and sealed them with his seal, and sent the letters unto the elders and to the nobles that were in his city, dwelling with Naboth.
9And she wrote in the letters, saying, Proclaim a fast, and set Naboth on high among the people:
10And set two men, sons of Belial, before him, to bear witness against him, saying, Thou didst blaspheme God and the king. And then carry him out, and stone him, that he may die.
11And the men of his city, even the elders and the nobles who were the inhabitants in his city, did as Jezebel had sent unto them, and as it was written in the letters which she had sent unto them.
12They proclaimed a fast, and set Naboth on high among the people.
13And there came in two men, children of Belial, and sat before him: and the men of Belial witnessed against him, even against Naboth, in the presence of the people, saying, Naboth did blaspheme God and the king. Then they carried him forth out of the city, and stoned him with stones, that he died.
14Then they sent to Jezebel, saying, Naboth is stoned, and is dead.
15And it came to pass, when Jezebel heard that Naboth was stoned, and was dead, that Jezebel said to Ahab, Arise, take possession of the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, which he refused to give thee for money: for Naboth is not alive, but dead.
16And it came to pass, when Ahab heard that Naboth was dead, that Ahab rose up to go down to the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, to take possession of it.
17And the word of the LORD came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,
18Arise, go down to meet Ahab king of Israel, which is in Samaria: behold, he is in the vineyard of Naboth, whither he is gone down to possess it.
19And thou shalt speak unto him, saying, Thus saith the LORD, Hast thou killed, and also taken possession? And thou shalt speak unto him, saying, Thus saith the LORD, In the place where dogs licked the blood of Naboth shall dogs lick thy blood, even thine.
20And Ahab said to Elijah, Hast thou found me, O mine enemy? And he answered, I have found thee: because thou hast sold thyself to work evil in the sight of the LORD.
21Behold, I will bring evil upon thee, and will take away thy posterity, and will cut off from Ahab him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel,
22And will make thine house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah, for the provocation wherewith thou hast provoked me to anger, and made Israel to sin.
23And of Jezebel also spake the LORD, saying, The dogs shall eat Jezebel by the wall of Jezreel.
24Him that dieth of Ahab in the city the dogs shall eat; and him that dieth in the field shall the fowls of the air eat.
25But there was none like unto Ahab, which did sell himself to work wickedness in the sight of the LORD, whom Jezebel his wife stirred up.
26And he did very abominably in following idols, according to all things as did the Amorites, whom the LORD cast out before the children of Israel.
27And it came to pass, when Ahab heard those words, that he rent his clothes, and put sackcloth upon his flesh, and fasted, and lay in sackcloth, and went softly.
28And the word of the LORD came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,
29Seest thou how Ahab humbleth himself before me? because he humbleth himself before me, I will not bring the evil in his days: but in his son’s days will I bring the evil upon his house.

1After these things, Naboth the Jezreelite had a vineyard which was in Jezreel, next to the palace of Ahab king of Samaria.
2Ahab spoke to Naboth, saying, “Give me your vineyard, that I may have it for a garden of herbs, because it is near my house; and I will give you for it a better vineyard than it. Or, if it seems good to you, I will give you its worth in money.”
3Naboth said to Ahab, “May the LORD forbid me, that I should give the inheritance of my fathers to you!”
4Ahab came into his house sullen and angry because of the word which Naboth the Jezreelite had spoken to him, for he had said, “I will not give you the inheritance of my fathers.” He laid himself down on his bed, and turned away his face, and would eat no bread.
5But Jezebel his wife came to him, and said to him, “Why is your spirit so sad that you eat no bread?”
6He said to her, “Because I spoke to Naboth the Jezreelite, and said to him, ‘Give me your vineyard for money; or else, if it pleases you, I will give you another vineyard for it.’ He answered, ‘I will not give you my vineyard.’”
7Jezebel his wife said to him, “Do you now govern the kingdom of Israel? Arise, and eat bread, and let your heart be merry. I will give you the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite.”

16When Ahab heard that Naboth was dead, Ahab rose up to go down to the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, to take possession of it.
17The LORD’s word came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,
18“Arise, go down to meet Ahab king of Israel, who dwells in Samaria. Behold, he is in the vineyard of Naboth, where he has gone down to take possession of it.
19You shall speak to him, saying, ‘The LORD says, “Have you killed and also taken possession?”’ You shall speak to him, saying, ‘The LORD says, “In the place where dogs licked the blood of Naboth, dogs will lick your blood, even yours.”’”
20Ahab said to Elijah, “Have you found me, my enemy?” He answered, “I have found you, because you have sold yourself to do that which is evil in the LORD’s sight.
21Behold, I will bring evil on you, and will utterly sweep you away and will cut off from Ahab everyone who urinates against a wall, and him who is shut up and him who is left at large in Israel.
22I will make your house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah, for the provocation with which you have provoked me to anger, and have made Israel to sin.”
23The LORD also spoke of Jezebel, saying, “The dogs will eat Jezebel by the rampart of Jezreel.
24The dogs will eat whoever dies of Ahab in the city; and the birds of the sky will eat whoever dies in the field.”
25But there was no one like Ahab, who sold himself to do that which was evil in the LORD’s sight, whom Jezebel his wife stirred up.
26He did very abominably in following idols, according to all that the Amorites did, whom the LORD cast out before the children of Israel.
