1Und es geschah nach diesen Dingen, daß Naboth, der Jisreelite, in Jisreel einen Weinberg hatte neben dem Palaste Achabs, des Königs von Samarien.
2Und Achab redete zu Naboth und sprach: Gib mir deinen Weinberg, daß er mir zum Kohlgarten sei; denn er ist nahe neben meinem Haus, und ich will dir einen besseren Weinberg dafür geben; so es gut in deinen Augen ist, will ich dir den Kaufpreis in Silber geben.
3Aber Naboth sprach zu Achab: Das sei ferne von mir, bei Jehovah, daß ich dir gebe das Erbe meiner Väter.
4Und Achab kam nach seinem Haus miß-mutig und verdrossen über das Wort, das Naboth, der Jisreelite, zu ihm geredet und gesagt hatte: Ich will dir nicht das Erbe meiner Väter geben. Und er legte sich auf sein Bett und wandte sein Angesicht herum und aß kein Brot.
5Und Isebel, sein Weib, kam zu ihm hinein und redete zu ihm: Warum ist dein Geist mißmutig, und warum ißt du kein Brot?
6Und er redete zu ihr: Ich habe zu Naboth, dem Jisreeliter, geredet und zu ihm gesagt: Gib mir deinen Weinberg für Silber, oder, wenn du Lust hast, will ich dir einen Weinberg dafür geben; er aber sprach: Ich will dir meinen Weinberg nicht geben.
7Und Isebel, sein Weib, sprach zu ihm: Du mußt nun nach deinem Königtum über Israel tun! Stehe auf, iß Brot und laß dein Herz gut sein, ich werde dir den Weinberg Naboths, des Jisreeliters, geben!
8Und sie schrieb Briefe im Namen Achabs, und versiegelte sie mit seinem Siegel, und sandte die Briefe an die Ältesten und die Vornehmen in seiner Stadt, die bei Naboth wohnten.
9Und sie schrieb in den Briefen und sagte: Rufet ein Fasten aus, und setzet Naboth obenan unter dem Volke.
10Und setzet zwei Männer, Söhne Belials, ihm gegenüber, und sie sollen gegen ihn zeugen und sprechen: Du hast Gott und den König gesegnet. Und bringet ihn hinaus und steinigt ihn, daß er sterbe.
11Und die Männer seiner Stadt, die Ältesten und die Vornehmen, die in seiner Stadt wohnten, taten, wie Isebel an sie gesandt hatte, wie in den Briefen, die sie ihnen sandte, geschrieben war.
12Sie riefen ein Fasten aus, und setzten Naboth obenan in dem Volke.
13Und es kamen die zwei Männer, die zwei Söhne Belials, und saßen ihm gegenüber, und die Männer Belials zeugten wider Naboth vor dem Volke und sprachen: Naboth hat Gott und den König gesegnet. Und sie brachten ihn aus der Stadt hinaus und steinigten ihn mit Steinen, daß er starb.
14Und sie sandten zu Isebel und ließen sagen: Naboth ist gesteinigt und tot.
15Und als Isebel hörte, daß Naboth gesteinigt und tot war, sprach Isebel zu Achab: Stehe auf und nimm Besitz von dem Weinberg Naboths, des Jisreeliters, der sich geweigert hatte, dir ihn um Silber zu geben; denn Naboth lebt nicht mehr, denn er ist tot.
16Und es geschah, da Achab hörte, daß Naboth tot war, machte Achab sich auf, in Naboths des Jisreeliters, Weinberg hinabzugehen, ihn in Besitz zu nehmen.
17Aber das Wort Jehovahs geschah an Elijahu, den Thischbiter, und sprach:
18Mache dich auf, gehe hinab, Achab, dem König Israels, welcher ist zu Samaria, entgegen. Siehe, er ist in dem Weinberg Naboths, wohin er hinabgegangen, ihn in Besitz zu nehmen.
19Und rede zu ihm und sprich: So spricht Jehovah: Hast du gemordet und auch in Besitz genommen? Und rede zu ihm und sprich: So spricht Jehovah: An dem Orte, wo die Hunde Naboths Blut geleckt, sollen die Hunde dein Blut lecken, auch deines!
20Und Achab sprach zu Elijahu: Hast du mich gefunden, mein Feind? Er aber sprach: Ich habe dich gefunden; weil du dich verkauft hast, zu tun, was böse ist in den Augen Jehovahs.
21Siehe, Ich bringe Böses über dich, und fege aus hinter dir her, und rotte aus dem Achab, was an die Wand pißt, den Zurückgehaltenen und den Verlassenen in Israel.
22Und Ich mache dein Haus wie das Haus Jerobeams, Nebats Sohn, und wie das Haus von Baescha, dem Sohne Achijahs, der Reizung wegen, mit der du Mich gereizt und daß du Israel sündigen machtest.
23Und auch über Isebel hat Jehovah geredet und gesprochen: Die Hunde sollen Isebel an der Vormauer Jisreels fressen.
24Wer dem Achab in der Stadt stirbt, den sollen die Hunde fressen, und wer ihm auf dem Felde stirbt, den soll das Gevögel der Himmel fressen.
25Denn es war niemand wie Achab, der sich verkauft hatte, zu tun, was böse ist in den Augen Jehovahs, wozu ihn Isebel, sein Weib, antrieb.
26Und er handelte sehr greulich, indem er den Götzen nachging, nach allem, was die Amoriter taten, die Jehovah vor den Söhnen Israels ausgetrieben hatte.
27Und es geschah, als Achab diese Worte hörte, da zerriß er seine Kleider und legte den Sack auf sein Fleisch und fastete; und er legte sich nieder im Sacke und schlich zaghaft einher.
28Und es geschah das Wort Jehovahs an Elijahu, den Thischbiter, und sprach:
29Hast du gesehen, wie sich Achab vor Meinem Angesicht niedergebeugt hat? Darum, daß er sich niederbeugte vor Meinem Angesichte, werde Ich das Böse nicht bringen in seinen Tagen. In seines Sohnes Tagen werde Ich das Böse über sein Haus bringen.

1PASADOS estos negocios, aconteció que Naboth de Jezreel tenía en Jezreel una viña junto al palacio de Achâb rey de Samaria.
2Y Achâb habló á Naboth, diciendo: Dame tu viña para un huerto de legumbres, porque está cercana, junto á mi casa, y yo te daré por ella otra viña mejor que esta; ó si mejor te pareciere, te pagaré su valor en dinero.
3Y Naboth respondió á Achâb: Guárdeme Jehová de que yo te dé á ti la heredad de mis padres.
4Y vínose Achâb á su casa triste y enojado, por la palabra que Naboth de Jezreel le había respondido, diciendo: No te daré la heredad de mis padres. Y acostóse en su cama, y volvió su rostro, y no comió pan.
5Y vino á él su mujer Jezabel, y díjole: ¿Por qué está tan triste tu espíritu, y no comes pan?
6Y él respondió: Porque hablé con Naboth de Jezreel, y díjele que me diera su viña por dinero, ó que, si más quería, le daría otra viña por ella; y él respondió: Yo no te daré mi viña.
7Y su mujer Jezabel le dijo: ¿Eres tú ahora rey sobre Israel? Levántate, y come pan, y alégrate: yo te daré la viña de Naboth de Jezreel.
8Entonces ella escribió cartas en nombre de Achâb, y sellólas con su anillo y enviólas á los ancianos y á los principales que moraban en su ciudad con Naboth.
9Y las cartas que escribió decían así: Proclamad ayuno, y poned á Naboth á la cabecera del pueblo;
10Y poned dos hombres perversos delante de él, que atestigüen contra él, y digan: Tú has blasfemado á Dios y al rey. Y entonces sacadlo, y apedreadlo, y muera.
11Y los de su ciudad, los ancianos y los principales que moraban en su ciudad, lo hicieron como Jezabel les mandó, conforme á lo escrito en las cartas que ella les había enviado.
12Y promulgaron ayuno, y asentaron á Naboth á la cabecera del pueblo.
13Vinieron entonces dos hombres perversos, y sentáronse delante de él: y aquellos hombres de Belial atestiguaron contra Naboth delante del pueblo, diciendo: Naboth ha blasfemado á Dios y al rey. Y sacáronlo fuera de la ciudad, y apedreáronlo con piedras, y murió.
14Después enviaron á decir á Jezabel: Naboth ha sido apedreado y muerto.
15Y como Jezabel oyó que Naboth había sido apedreado y muerto, dijo á Achâb: Levántate y posee la viña de Naboth de Jezreel, que no te la quiso dar por dinero; porque Naboth no vive, sino que es muerto.
16Y oyendo Achâb que Naboth era muerto, levantóse para descender á la viña de Naboth de Jezreel, para tomar posesión de ella.
17Entonces fué palabra de Jehová á Elías Thisbita, diciendo:
18Levántate, desciende á encontrarte con Achâb rey de Israel, que está en Samaria: he aquí él está en la viña de Naboth, á la cual ha descendido para tomar posesión de ella.
19Y hablarle has, diciendo: Así ha dicho Jehová: ¿No mataste y también has poseído? Y tornarás á hablarle, diciendo: Así ha dicho Jehová: En el mismo lugar donde lamieron los perros la sangre de Naboth, los perros lamerán también tu sangre, la tuya misma.
20Y Achâb dijo á Elías: ¿Me has hallado, enemigo mío? Y él respondió: Hete encontrado, porque te has vendido á mal hacer delante de Jehová.
21He aquí yo traigo mal sobre ti, y barreré tu posteridad, y talaré de Achâb todo meante á la pared, al guardado y al desamparado en Israel:
22Y yo pondré tu casa como la casa de Jeroboam hijo de Nabat, y como la casa de Baasa hijo de Ahía; por la provocación con que me provocaste á ira, y con que has hecho pecar á Israel.
23De Jezabel también ha hablado Jehová, diciendo: Los perros comerán á Jezabel en la barbacana de Jezreel.
24El que de Achâb fuere muerto en la ciudad, perros le comerán: y el que fuere muerto en el campo, comerlo han las aves del cielo.
25(A la verdad ninguno fué como Achâb, que se vendiese á hacer lo malo á los ojos de Jehová; porque Jezabel su mujer lo incitaba.
26El fué en grande manera abominable, caminando en pos de los ídolos, conforme á todo lo que hicieron los Amorrheos, á los cuales lanzó Jehová delante de los hijos de Israel.)
27Y acaeció cuando Achâb oyó estas palabras, que rasgó sus vestidos, y puso saco sobre su carne, y ayunó, y durmió en saco, y anduvo humillado.
28Entonces fué palabra de Jehová á Elías Thisbita, diciendo:
29¿No has visto como Achâb se ha humillado delante de mí? Pues por cuanto se ha humillado delante de mí, no traeré el mal en sus días: en los días de su hijo traeré el mal sobre su casa.

1And it came to pass after these things, that Naboth the Jezreelite had a vineyard, which was in Jezreel, hard by the palace of Ahab king of Samaria.
2And Ahab spake unto Naboth, saying, Give me thy vineyard, that I may have it for a garden of herbs, because it is near unto my house: and I will give thee for it a better vineyard than it; or, if it seem good to thee, I will give thee the worth of it in money.
3And Naboth said to Ahab, The LORD forbid it me, that I should give the inheritance of my fathers unto thee.
4And Ahab came into his house heavy and displeased because of the word which Naboth the Jezreelite had spoken to him: for he had said, I will not give thee the inheritance of my fathers. And he laid him down upon his bed, and turned away his face, and would eat no bread.
5But Jezebel his wife came to him, and said unto him, Why is thy spirit so sad, that thou eatest no bread?
6And he said unto her, Because I spake unto Naboth the Jezreelite, and said unto him, Give me thy vineyard for money; or else, if it please thee, I will give thee another vineyard for it: and he answered, I will not give thee my vineyard.
7And Jezebel his wife said unto him, Dost thou now govern the kingdom of Israel? arise, and eat bread, and let thine heart be merry: I will give thee the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite.
8So she wrote letters in Ahab’s name, and sealed them with his seal, and sent the letters unto the elders and to the nobles that were in his city, dwelling with Naboth.
9And she wrote in the letters, saying, Proclaim a fast, and set Naboth on high among the people:
10And set two men, sons of Belial, before him, to bear witness against him, saying, Thou didst blaspheme God and the king. And then carry him out, and stone him, that he may die.
11And the men of his city, even the elders and the nobles who were the inhabitants in his city, did as Jezebel had sent unto them, and as it was written in the letters which she had sent unto them.
12They proclaimed a fast, and set Naboth on high among the people.
13And there came in two men, children of Belial, and sat before him: and the men of Belial witnessed against him, even against Naboth, in the presence of the people, saying, Naboth did blaspheme God and the king. Then they carried him forth out of the city, and stoned him with stones, that he died.
14Then they sent to Jezebel, saying, Naboth is stoned, and is dead.
15And it came to pass, when Jezebel heard that Naboth was stoned, and was dead, that Jezebel said to Ahab, Arise, take possession of the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, which he refused to give thee for money: for Naboth is not alive, but dead.
16And it came to pass, when Ahab heard that Naboth was dead, that Ahab rose up to go down to the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, to take possession of it.
17And the word of the LORD came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,
18Arise, go down to meet Ahab king of Israel, which is in Samaria: behold, he is in the vineyard of Naboth, whither he is gone down to possess it.
19And thou shalt speak unto him, saying, Thus saith the LORD, Hast thou killed, and also taken possession? And thou shalt speak unto him, saying, Thus saith the LORD, In the place where dogs licked the blood of Naboth shall dogs lick thy blood, even thine.
20And Ahab said to Elijah, Hast thou found me, O mine enemy? And he answered, I have found thee: because thou hast sold thyself to work evil in the sight of the LORD.
21Behold, I will bring evil upon thee, and will take away thy posterity, and will cut off from Ahab him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel,
22And will make thine house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah, for the provocation wherewith thou hast provoked me to anger, and made Israel to sin.
23And of Jezebel also spake the LORD, saying, The dogs shall eat Jezebel by the wall of Jezreel.
24Him that dieth of Ahab in the city the dogs shall eat; and him that dieth in the field shall the fowls of the air eat.
25But there was none like unto Ahab, which did sell himself to work wickedness in the sight of the LORD, whom Jezebel his wife stirred up.
26And he did very abominably in following idols, according to all things as did the Amorites, whom the LORD cast out before the children of Israel.
27And it came to pass, when Ahab heard those words, that he rent his clothes, and put sackcloth upon his flesh, and fasted, and lay in sackcloth, and went softly.
28And the word of the LORD came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,
29Seest thou how Ahab humbleth himself before me? because he humbleth himself before me, I will not bring the evil in his days: but in his son’s days will I bring the evil upon his house.

1After these things, Naboth the Jezreelite had a vineyard which was in Jezreel, next to the palace of Ahab king of Samaria.
2Ahab spoke to Naboth, saying, “Give me your vineyard, that I may have it for a garden of herbs, because it is near my house; and I will give you for it a better vineyard than it. Or, if it seems good to you, I will give you its worth in money.”
3Naboth said to Ahab, “May the LORD forbid me, that I should give the inheritance of my fathers to you!”
4Ahab came into his house sullen and angry because of the word which Naboth the Jezreelite had spoken to him, for he had said, “I will not give you the inheritance of my fathers.” He laid himself down on his bed, and turned away his face, and would eat no bread.
5But Jezebel his wife came to him, and said to him, “Why is your spirit so sad that you eat no bread?”
6He said to her, “Because I spoke to Naboth the Jezreelite, and said to him, ‘Give me your vineyard for money; or else, if it pleases you, I will give you another vineyard for it.’ He answered, ‘I will not give you my vineyard.’”
7Jezebel his wife said to him, “Do you now govern the kingdom of Israel? Arise, and eat bread, and let your heart be merry. I will give you the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite.”

15When Jezebel heard that Naboth had been stoned and was dead, Jezebel said to Ahab, “Arise, take possession of the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, which he refused to give you for money; for Naboth is not alive, but dead.”
16When Ahab heard that Naboth was dead, Ahab rose up to go down to the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, to take possession of it.
17The LORD’s word came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,
18“Arise, go down to meet Ahab king of Israel, who dwells in Samaria. Behold, he is in the vineyard of Naboth, where he has gone down to take possession of it.
19You shall speak to him, saying, ‘The LORD says, “Have you killed and also taken possession?”’ You shall speak to him, saying, ‘The LORD says, “In the place where dogs licked the blood of Naboth, dogs will lick your blood, even yours.”’”
20Ahab said to Elijah, “Have you found me, my enemy?” He answered, “I have found you, because you have sold yourself to do that which is evil in the LORD’s sight.
21Behold, I will bring evil on you, and will utterly sweep you away and will cut off from Ahab everyone who urinates against a wall, and him who is shut up and him who is left at large in Israel.
22I will make your house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah, for the provocation with which you have provoked me to anger, and have made Israel to sin.”
23The LORD also spoke of Jezebel, saying, “The dogs will eat Jezebel by the rampart of Jezreel.
24The dogs will eat whoever dies of Ahab in the city; and the birds of the sky will eat whoever dies in the field.”
25But there was no one like Ahab, who sold himself to do that which was evil in the LORD’s sight, whom Jezebel his wife stirred up.
26He did very abominably in following idols, according to all that the Amorites did, whom the LORD cast out before the children of Israel.
27When Ahab heard those words, he tore his clothes, put sackcloth on his body, fasted, lay in sackcloth, and went about despondently.
28The LORD’s word came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,
29“See how Ahab humbles himself before me? Because he humbles himself before me, I will not bring the evil in his days; but I will bring the evil on his house in his son’s day.”
