El rey de Israel le respondio: "Sea como tú dices, mi amo, mi rey. Yo soy tuyo con todo lo que tengo."

And the king of Israel answered and said, My lord, O king, according to thy saying, I am thine, and all that I have.

Los mensajeros vinieron otra vez y le dijeron: "Ben Adad dice ésto: ' Te envié un palabra diciendo que debes entregarme tu plata, oro, esposas e hijos.

And the messengers came again, and said, Thus speaketh Ben-hadad, saying, Although I have sent unto thee, saying, Thou shalt deliver me thy silver, and thy gold, and thy wives, and thy children;

Entonces, el rey de Israel llamó a los ancianos de la tierra y dijo: "Por favor, tomen nota y vean como éste hombre busca problemas. Él me ha enviado una palabra, para tomar a mis esposas, hijos, plata y oro, y yo no me he negado."

Then the king of Israel called all the elders of the land, and said, Mark, I pray you, and see how this man seeketh mischief: for he sent unto me for my wives, and for my children, and for my silver, and for my gold; and I denied him not.

Wherefore he said unto the messengers of Ben-hadad, Tell my lord the king, All that thou didst send for to thy servant at the first I will do: but this thing I may not do. And the messengers departed, and brought him word again.
Therefore he said to the messengers of Ben Hadad, “Tell my lord the king, ‘All that you sent for to your servant at the first I will do, but this thing I cannot do.’” The messengers departed and brought him back the message.

And Ben-hadad sent unto him, and said, The gods do so unto me, and more also, if the dust of Samaria shall suffice for handfuls for all the people that follow me.

El rey de Israel respondió y dijo: "Dile a Ben Adad, 'Nadie que se esté poniéndo la armadura, debe declararse vencedor como el que se la está quitando.'"

And the king of Israel answered and said, Tell him, Let not him that girdeth on his harness boast himself as he that putteth it off.

Ben Adad escuchó éste mensaje mientras bebía con sus reyes menores en sus tiendas. Ben Adad ordenó a éstos hombres: "Fórmense y prepárense para la batalla"' Así que, ellos se prepararon en posición de batalla, para atacar la ciudad.

And it came to pass, when Ben-hadad heard this message, as he was drinking, he and the kings in the pavilions, that he said unto his servants, Set yourselves in array. And they set themselves in array against the city.

And, behold, there came a prophet unto Ahab king of Israel, saying, Thus saith the LORD, Hast thou seen all this great multitude? behold, I will deliver it into thine hand this day; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD.
Behold, a prophet came near to Ahab king of Israel, and said, “The LORD says, ‘Have you seen all this great multitude? Behold, I will deliver it into your hand today. Then you will know that I am the LORD.’”
Acab respondió: "¿Por medio de quién?" El SEÑOR respondió y dijo: "Por los oficiales jóvenes, que sirven a los gobernantes de los municipios" Luego Acab dijo: "¿Quién comenzará la batalla?" El SEÑOR respondió: "Tú."

And they slew every one his man: and the Syrians fled; and Israel pursued them: and Ben-hadad the king of Syria escaped on an horse with the horsemen.

And the prophet came to the king of Israel, and said unto him, Go, strengthen thyself, and mark, and see what thou doest: for at the return of the year the king of Syria will come up against thee.
The prophet came near to the king of Israel and said to him, “Go, strengthen yourself, and plan what you must do, for at the return of the year, the king of Syria will come up against you.”
Los siervos del rey de Aram le dijeron a él: "Su dios es el dios de las montañas. Es por ésto que eran más fuertes que nosotros. Pero ahora déjanos pelear en contra de ellos en lo plano, y seguramente seremos más fuerte que ellos."

And the servants of the king of Syria said unto him, Their gods are gods of the hills; therefore they were stronger than we; but let us fight against them in the plain, and surely we shall be stronger than they.

Y haz ésto: remueve a los reyes; toma a todo el mundo fuera de su comando y pon capitanes del ejército en su lugar.

Llegándose entonces el varón de Dios al rey de Israel, hablóle diciendo: Así dijo Jehová: Por cuanto los Siros han dicho, Jehová es Dios de los montes, no Dios de los valles, yo entregaré toda esta grande multitud en tu mano, para que conozcáis que yo soy Jehová.
And there came a man of God, and spake unto the king of Israel, and said, Thus saith the LORD, Because the Syrians have said, The LORD is God of the hills, but he is not God of the valleys, therefore will I deliver all this great multitude into thine hand, and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

And his servants said unto him, Behold now, we have heard that the kings of the house of Israel are merciful kings: let us, I pray thee, put sackcloth on our loins, and ropes upon our heads, and go out to the king of Israel: peradventure he will save thy life.
His servants said to him, “See now, we have heard that the kings of the house of Israel are merciful kings. Please let us put sackcloth on our bodies and ropes on our heads, and go out to the king of Israel. Maybe he will save your life.”

So they girded sackcloth on their loins, and put ropes on their heads, and came to the king of Israel, and said, Thy servant Ben-hadad saith, I pray thee, let me live. And he said, Is he yet alive? he is my brother.
So they put sackcloth on their bodies and ropes on their heads, and came to the king of Israel, and said, “Your servant Ben Hadad says, ‘Please let me live.’” He said, “Is he still alive? He is my brother.”

Now the men did diligently observe whether any thing would come from him, and did hastily catch it: and they said, Thy brother Ben-hadad. Then he said, Go ye, bring him. Then Ben-hadad came forth to him; and he caused him to come up into the chariot.
Now the men observed diligently and hurried to take this phrase; and they said, “Your brother Ben Hadad.” Then he said, “Go, bring him.” Then Ben Hadad came out to him; and he caused him to come up into the chariot.
Ben Adad le dijo a Acab: "Voy a restituirte, las ciudades que mi padre le quitó a tu padre, y tú haz mercados para tí en Damasco, como mi padre hizo en Samaria." Acab respondió: "Te dejaré ir con éste pacto." Así que Acab hizo un pacto con él y luego lo dejó ir.
Y díjole Ben-adad: Las ciudades que mi padre tomó al tuyo, yo las restituiré; y haz plazas en Damasco para ti, como mi padre las hizo en Samaria. Y yo, dijo Achâb, te dejaré partir con esta alianza. Hizo pues con él alianza, y dejóle ir.
And Ben-hadad said unto him, The cities, which my father took from thy father, I will restore; and thou shalt make streets for thee in Damascus, as my father made in Samaria. Then said Ahab, I will send thee away with this covenant. So he made a covenant with him, and sent him away.
Ben Hadad said to him, “The cities which my father took from your father I will restore. You shall make streets for yourself in Damascus, as my father made in Samaria.” “I”, said Ahab, “will let you go with this covenant.” So he made a covenant with him and let him go.
Cierto hombre, uno de los hijos de lo profetas, le dijo a uno de sus compañeros profetas por la palabra del SEÑOR: "Por favor, golpéame." Pero el hombre se rehusó a golpearlo.
Entonces un varón de los hijos de los profetas dijo á su compañero por palabra de Dios: Hiéreme ahora. Mas el otro varón no quiso herirle.
And a certain man of the sons of the prophets said unto his neighbour in the word of the LORD, Smite me, I pray thee. And the man refused to smite him.
A certain man of the sons of the prophets said to his fellow by the LORD’s word, “Please strike me!” The man refused to strike him.
Luego el profeta le dijo a su compañero profeta: "Porque tú no haz obedecido la palabra del SEÑOR, tan pronto me dejes, un león te matará." Y tan pronto ese hombre lo dejó, un león vino sobre él y lo mató.

Then said he unto him, Because thou hast not obeyed the voice of the LORD, behold, as soon as thou art departed from me, a lion shall slay thee. And as soon as he was departed from him, a lion found him, and slew him.
Then he said to him, “Because you have not obeyed the LORD’s voice, behold, as soon as you have departed from me, a lion will kill you.” As soon as he had departed from him, a lion found him and killed him.
Entonces el profeta encontró a otro hombre y dijo: "Por favor, golpéame." Así que el hombre lo golpeó y lo hirió.
Encontróse luego con otro hombre, y díjole: Hiéreme ahora. Y el hombre le dió un golpe, é hízole una herida.
Then he found another man, and said, Smite me, I pray thee. And the man smote him, so that in smiting he wounded him.
Then he found another man, and said, “Please strike me.” The man struck him and wounded him.
Entonces el profeta se fue y esperó al rey en la calle; él se había disfrazado con un vendaje sobre sus ojos.
Y el profeta se fué, y púsose delante del rey en el camino, y disfrazóse con un velo sobre los ojos.
So the prophet departed, and waited for the king by the way, and disguised himself with ashes upon his face.
So the prophet departed and waited for the king by the way, and disguised himself with his headband over his eyes.
Mientras el rey pasaba, el profeta clamó al rey y dijo: "Tu siervo salió al calor de la batalla, y un soldado se detuvo y me trajo a un enemigo y dijo: 'Vigila a éste hombre. Si por cualquier motivo, él se perdiera, entonces tu vida será dada por su vida, o de otra manera pagarás 3000 monedas de plata.'
Y como el rey pasaba, él dió voces al rey, y dijo: Tu siervo salió entre la tropa: y he aquí apartándose uno, trájome un hombre, diciendo: Guarda á este hombre, y si llegare á faltar, tu vida será por la suya, ó pagarás un talento de plata.
And as the king passed by, he cried unto the king: and he said, Thy servant went out into the midst of the battle; and, behold, a man turned aside, and brought a man unto me, and said, Keep this man: if by any means he be missing, then shall thy life be for his life, or else thou shalt pay a talent of silver.
As the king passed by, he cried to the king, and he said, “Your servant went out into the middle of the battle; and behold, a man came over and brought a man to me, and said, ‘Guard this man! If by any means he is missing, then your life shall be for his life, or else you shall pay a talent of silver.’
Pero porque tu siervo estaba ocupado yendo aquí y allá, el soldado enemigo escapó." Luego, el rey de Israel le dijo a él: "Ésto es lo que tu castigo será- tú mismo lo haz decidido."
Y como tu siervo estaba ocupado á una parte y á otra, él desapareció. Entonces el rey de Israel le dijo: Esa será tu sentencia: tú la has pronunciado.
And as thy servant was busy here and there, he was gone. And the king of Israel said unto him, So shall thy judgment be; thyself hast decided it.

Entonces, el profeta rápidamente se removió el vendaje de sus ojos, y el rey de Israel reconoció que él era uno de los profetas.

And he hasted, and took the ashes away from his face; and the king of Israel discerned him that he was of the prophets.
He hurried, and took the headband away from his eyes; and the king of Israel recognized that he was one of the prophets.
El profeta le dijo al rey: "El SEÑOR dice: 'Porque has soltado de tu mano al hombre que yo tenía sentenciado a muerte, tu vida tomará el lugar de su vida, y tu pueblo por su pueblo.'"
Y él le dijo: Así ha dicho Jehová: Por cuanto soltaste de la mano el hombre de mi anatema, tu vida será por la suya, y tu pueblo por el suyo.
And he said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Because thou hast let go out of thy hand a man whom I appointed to utter destruction, therefore thy life shall go for his life, and thy people for his people.
He said to him, “The LORD says, ‘Because you have let go out of your hand the man whom I had devoted to destruction, therefore your life will take the place of his life, and your people take the place of his people.’”
