Elia fuggendo nel deserto per paura di Jezabele, svegliato dal sonno mangia del pane mandatogli da Dio, e beve dell'acqua, e cosi giunge al monte di Dio Horeb, e ivi nella spelonca, dolendosi di esser rimasto solo profeta del Signore, sente dirsi, che sette mila ne eran restati: egli è mandato a ungere Hazael re di Sirio, e Jehu re d'Israele, Ed Eliseo profeta.
