Ma Elia Thesbite abitante di Galaad, disse ad Achab: Viva il Signore Dio d'Israele, di cui io son servo: non verrà né rugiada, né pioggia in questi anni, se non quand'io lo dirò.

ENTONCES Elías Thisbita, que era de los moradores de Galaad, dijo á Achâb: Vive Jehová Dios de Israel, delante del cual estoy, que no habrá lluvia ni rocío en estos años, sino por mi palabra.

And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the LORD God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.

Elijah the Tishbite, who was one of the settlers of Gilead, said to Ahab, “As the LORD, the God of Israel, lives, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.”

E il Signore parlò a lui, e gli disse:

Y fué á él palabra de Jehová, diciendo:

And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying,

Then the LORD’s word came to him, saying,

Partiti di qua, e va verso oriente, e nasconditi presso al torrente Carith, che è dirimpetto al Giordano.

Apártate de aquí, y vuélvete al oriente, y escóndete en el arroyo de Cherith, que está delante del Jordán;

Get thee hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.

“Go away from here, turn eastward, and hide yourself by the brook Cherith, that is before the Jordan.

E ivi berai al torrente, e io ho comandato ai corvi, che ti dian da mangiare.

Y beberás del arroyo; y yo he mandado á los cuervos que te den allí de comer.

And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there.

You shall drink from the brook. I have commanded the ravens to feed you there.”

Egli adunque partì, ed esegui l'ordine del Signore, e andò a posarsi presso al torrente Carith, che è dirimpetto al Giordano.

Y él fué, é hizo conforme á la palabra de Jehová; pues se fué y asentó junto al arroyo de Cherith, que está antes del Jordán.

So he went and did according unto the word of the LORD: for he went and dwelt by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.

So he went and did according to the LORD’s word, for he went and lived by the brook Cherith that is before the Jordan.

E i corvi gli portavan del pane, e delle carni la mattina, e parimente del pane, e delle carni la sera, e beveva al torrente.

Y los cuervos le traían pan y carne por la mañana, y pan y carne á la tarde; y bebía del arroyo.

And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening; and he drank of the brook.

The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning, and bread and meat in the evening; and he drank from the brook.

Ma di lì a qualche tempo il torrente rimase asciutto, perchè non veniva pioggia sopra la terra,

Pasados algunos días, secóse el arroyo; porque no había llovido sobre la tierra.

And it came to pass after a while, that the brook dried up, because there had been no rain in the land.

Il Signore pertanto parlò a lui, e disse

Y fué á él palabra de Jehová, diciendo:

And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying,

The LORD’s word came to him, saying,

Parti, e va a Sarephta de' Sidonj, e ivi fa tua dimora; perocché ivi ho ordinato a una donna vedova, che ti dia da mangiare.

Levántate, vete á Sarepta de Sidón, y allí morarás: he aquí yo he mandado allí á una mujer viuda que te sustente.

Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee.

“Arise, go to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and stay there. Behold, I have commanded a widow there to sustain you.”

Si partì egli, e andò a Sarephta. E nell'arrivar ch'ei faceva alla porta della città, si vide dinanzi una donna vedova, che raccoglieva delle legna, e chiamolla, e le disse: Dammi un po' d'acqua in un vaso, affinchè io beva.

Entonces él se levantó, y se fué á Sarepta. Y como llegó á la puerta de la ciudad, he aquí una mujer viuda que estaba allí cogiendo serojas; y él la llamó, y díjole: Ruégote que me traigas una poca de agua en un vaso, para que beba.

So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, the widow woman was there gathering of sticks: and he called to her, and said, Fetch me, I pray thee, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink.

So he arose and went to Zarephath; and when he came to the gate of the city, behold, a widow was there gathering sticks. He called to her and said, “Please get me a little water in a jar, that I may drink.”

E mentre ella andava per portar gliene, le gridò dietro, e disse: Portami di grazia anche un tocco di pane colla tua mano.

Y yendo ella para traérsela, él la volvió á llamar, y díjole: Ruégote que me traigas también un bocado de pan en tu mano.

And as she was going to fetch it, he called to her, and said, Bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thine hand.

As she was going to get it, he called to her and said, “Please bring me a morsel of bread in your hand.”

Rispose ella: Viva il Signore Dio tuo: del pane io non ne ho, ma solo un po' di farina in una pentola, quanto può capirne in una pugnata e un pocolino d'olio in un vaso: or io raccoglieva due legna, per andare a cuocerla per me, e pel mio figliuolo, affin di mangiarla, e poi morire.

Y ella respondió: Vive Jehová Dios tuyo, que no tengo pan cocido; que solamente un puñado de harina tengo en la tinaja, y un poco de aceite en una botija: y ahora cogía dos serojas, para entrarme y aderezarlo para mí y para mi hijo, y que lo comamos, y nos muramos.

And she said, As the LORD thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.

She said, “As the LORD your God lives, I don’t have anything baked, but only a handful of meal in a jar and a little oil in a jar. Behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and bake it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.”

Dissele Elia: Non temere, ma va, e fa quello, che hai detto: ma fa prima per me con quel po' di farina una stiacciata cotta sotto la cenere, e portamela, e poi ne farai per te, e pel tuo figliuolo.

Y Elías le dijo: No hayas temor; ve, haz como has dicho: empero hazme á mí primero de ello una pequeña torta cocida debajo de la ceniza, y tráemela; y después harás para ti y para tu hijo.

And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son.

Elijah said to her, “Don’t be afraid. Go and do as you have said; but make me a little cake from it first, and bring it out to me, and afterward make some for you and for your son.

Or il Signore Dio d'Israele dice così: La farina della pentola non verrà meno, e il vaso dell'olio non calerà sino a quel giorno, in cui il Signore manderà pioggia sopra la terra.

Porque Jehová Dios de Israel ha dicho así: La tinaja de la harina no escaseará, ni se disminuirá la botija del aceite, hasta aquel día que Jehová dará lluvia sobre la haz de la tierra.

For thus saith the LORD God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the LORD sendeth rain upon the earth.

For the LORD, the God of Israel, says, ‘The jar of meal will not run out, and the jar of oil will not fail, until the day that the LORD sends rain on the earth.’”

E quella andò, e fece come le avea detto Elia, e mangiò egli, ed essa, e la sua gente. E da quel giorno in poi

Entonces ella fué, é hizo como le dijo Elías; y comió él, y ella y su casa, muchos días.

And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat many days.

She went and did according to the saying of Elijah; and she, he, and her household ate many days.

La farina della pentola non venne meno, e il vaso dell'olio non calò, secondo la parola detta dal Signore per bocca di Elia.

Y la tinaja de la harina no escaseó, ni menguó la botija del aceite, conforme á la palabra de Jehová que había dicho por Elías.

And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by Elijah.

The jar of meal didn’t run out and the jar of oil didn’t fail, according to the LORD’s word, which he spoke by Elijah.

Or di poi egli avvenne, che si ammalò il figliuolo di questa madre di famiglia, e la malattia era gravissima, talmente che rimase senza respiro.

Después de estas cosas aconteció que cayó enfermo el hijo del ama de la casa, y la enfermedad fué tan grave, que no quedó en él resuello.

And it came to pass after these things, that the son of the woman, the mistress of the house, fell sick; and his sickness was so sore, that there was no breath left in him.

After these things, the son of the woman, the mistress of the house, became sick; and his sickness was so severe that there was no breath left in him.

Ella pertanto disse ad Elia: Che ho io fatto a te, o uomo di Dio? Se' tu venuto da me, per rinnovar la memoria delle mie iniquità, e per far morire il mio figliuolo?

Y ella dijo á Elías: ¿Qué tengo yo contigo, varón de Dios? ¿has venido á mí para traer en memoria mis iniquidades, y para hacerme morir mi hijo?

And she said unto Elijah, What have I to do with thee, O thou man of God? art thou come unto me to call my sin to remembrance, and to slay my son?

She said to Elijah, “What have I to do with you, you man of God? You have come to me to bring my sin to memory, and to kill my son!”

E dissele Elia: Dammi il tuo figlio: e lo prese dal sen di lei, e portollo nella camera, dov' egli albergava, e lo posò sul suo letto.

Y él le dijo: Dame acá tu hijo. Entonces él lo tomó de su regazo, y llevólo á la cámara donde él estaba, y púsole sobre su cama;

And he said unto her, Give me thy son. And he took him out of her bosom, and carried him up into a loft, where he abode, and laid him upon his own bed.

He said to her, “Give me your son.” He took him out of her bosom, and carried him up into the room where he stayed, and laid him on his own bed.

E alzò sue voci al Signore, e disse: Signore Dio mio, hai tu dunque afflitta ancor questa vedova, in casa della quale io vivo alla meglio, facendo morire il suo figliuolo?

Y clamando á Jehová, dijo: Jehová Dios mío, ¿aun á la viuda en cuya casa yo estoy hospedado has afligido, matándole su hijo?

And he cried unto the LORD, and said, O LORD my God, hast thou also brought evil upon the widow with whom I sojourn, by slaying her son?

He cried to the LORD and said, “LORD my God, have you also brought evil on the widow with whom I am staying, by killing her son?”

E si distese, e si rannicchiò sopra il fanciullo per tre volte, e alzò sue voci al Signore, e disse: Signore Dio mio fa, ti prego, che l'anima del fanciullo torni nelle sue viscere.

Y midióse sobre el niño tres veces, y clamó á Jehová, y dijo: Jehová Dios mío, ruégote que vuelva el alma de este niño á sus entrañas.

And he stretched himself upon the child three times, and cried unto the LORD, and said, O LORD my God, I pray thee, let this child’s soul come into him again.

He stretched himself on the child three times, and cried to the LORD and said, “LORD my God, please let this child’s soul come into him again.”

E il Signore esaudì la voce di Elia, e l'anima del fanciullo tornò in lui, ed ei risuscitò.

Y Jehová oyó la voz de Elías, y el alma del niño volvió á sus entrañas, y revivió.

And the LORD heard the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came into him again, and he revived.

The LORD listened to the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came into him again, and he revived.

Ed Elia prese il fanciullo, e dalla sua camera lo trasportò al piano di terra della casa, e lo rimise a sua madre, e dissele: Eccoti vivo il tuo figliuolo.

Tomando luego Elías al niño, trájolo de la cámara á la casa, y diólo á su madre, y díjole Elías: Mira, tu hijo vive.

And Elijah took the child, and brought him down out of the chamber into the house, and delivered him unto his mother: and Elijah said, See, thy son liveth.

Elijah took the child and brought him down out of the room into the house, and delivered him to his mother; and Elijah said, “Behold, your son lives.”

E la donna disse ad Elia: Or da questo conosco, che tu se' uomo di Dio, e che la vera parola di Dio è nella tua bocca. Crescendo la fame, Elia va incontro ad Abia, che cercava erba pe’ bestiami, e difficilmente lo induce a dar nuova ad Achab di sua venuta; questi va a trovare Elia, ed è ripreso da lui. Elia mosso da zelo di Dio comanda, che siano uccisi gli otto cento cinquanta falsi profeti: fa venire fuoco dal cielo a consumare l'olocausto, e impetra da Dio la pioggia.

Entonces la mujer dijo á Elías: Ahora conozco que tú eres varón de Dios, y que la palabra de Jehová es verdad en tu boca.

And the woman said to Elijah, Now by this I know that thou art a man of God, and that the word of the LORD in thy mouth is truth.

The woman said to Elijah, “Now I know that you are a man of God, and that the LORD’s word in your mouth is truth.”
