1En aquel tiempo, el profeta Jehú hijo de Jananí le entregó al rey Basá este mensaje de condenación enviado por el Señor:
2«Yo te levanté desde el polvo para hacerte rey de mi pueblo Israel, pero tú has andado en los malos caminos de Jeroboán. Has hecho pecar a mi pueblo, y estoy airado.
3Ahora te destruiré a ti junto con tu familia, de la manera que hice con los descendientes de Jeroboán.
4Los de tu familia que mueran en la ciudad serán comidos por los perros, y los que mueran en el campo serán comidos por los buitres». Este mensaje fue enviado a Basá y a su familia debido a que ellos, con sus malas acciones, hicieron que la ira del Señor se encendiera. Basá fue tan malo como Jeroboán, a pesar de que el Señor había destruido a los descendientes de este por sus pecados. El resto de la biografía de Basá, sus hechos y sus conquistas, están escritos en el libro de los reyes de Israel. Cuando Basá murió, lo sepultaron en Tirsá, y su hijo Elá reinó en su lugar.

8Cuando Asá llevaba veintiséis años reinando en Judá, Elá hijo de Basá comenzó a reinar en Israel, pero reinó solamente dos años. La capital de su reino fue Tirsá.
9Luego el general Zimri, que había estado a cargo de los carros reales, se levantó en su contra. Un día el rey Elá estaba bebiendo y se había embriagado en casa de Arsá, administrador de su palacio.
10Zimri simplemente entró y lo mató. Esto ocurrió durante el año veintisiete del reinado del rey Asá, de Judá. Entonces Zimri se proclamó nuevo rey de Israel.
11Inmediatamente Zimri mató a toda la familia real, sin dejar un solo niño varón. Acabó con los parientes lejanos y con sus amigos.
12La destrucción de los descendientes de Basá estaba de acuerdo con lo que el Señor había anunciado por medio del profeta Jehú.
13La tragedia ocurrió debido a los pecados de Basá y de su hijo Elá, quienes condujeron a Israel a la idolatría, lo que provocó la ira del Señor.
14El resto de la historia del reinado de Elá está escrito en el libro de los reyes de Israel.
15Asá llevaba veintisiete años reinando en Judá, cuando Zimri ocupó el trono de Israel. Pero solamente reinó siete días en Tirsá, pues cuando las tropas de Israel, que estaban atacando la ciudad filistea de Guibetón, se enteraron de que Zimri había asesinado al rey, nombraron a Omrí, jefe del ejército, como el nuevo rey.

17Entonces Omrí y todo Israel se retiraron de Guibetón y regresaron a sitiar Tirsá, capital de Israel.
18Cuando Zimri vio que la ciudad había sido tomada, entró al palacio y lo incendió, y murió en medio de las llamas.
19Porque él también había pecado a la manera de Jeroboán; había adorado ídolos y había hecho que el pueblo de Israel pecara juntamente con él.
20El resto de la historia de Zimri y su traición está escrito en el libro de los reyes de Israel.
21El reino de Israel se dividió en dos: la mitad del pueblo siguió a Omrí, y la otra mitad, a Tibni hijo de Guinat.
22Pero Omrí venció, y Tibni fue muerto; entonces Omrí reinó sin oposición.
23El rey Asá de Judá llevaba treinta y un años en el trono, cuando Omrí comenzó a reinar sobre Israel. Su reinado duró doce años, seis de ellos en Tirsá.
24Omrí le compró a un tal Sémer el monte de Samaria por sesenta y siete kilos de plata, y edificó allí una ciudad, a la que llamó Samaria en honor de Sémer.
25Pero Omrí fue peor que todos los reyes que hubo antes de él;
26adoró ídolos a la manera de Jeroboán e hizo que Israel cometiera su mismo pecado. Y esto provocó grandemente la ira del Señor, Dios de Israel.

28Cuando Omrí murió, fue sepultado en Samaria, y reinó en su lugar su hijo Acab.
29El rey Asá llevaba treinta y ocho años de reinado en Judá, cuando Acab comenzó a reinar sobre Israel; y Acab reinó durante veintidós años, en Samaria.
30Pero fue aún más perverso que su padre Omrí, y peor que cualquier otro rey de Israel.
31Y como si esto no fuera suficiente, se casó con Jezabel, la hija del rey Et Baal de los sidonios, y comenzó a adorar a Baal.
32Primero edificó en Samaria un templo y un altar para Baal.
33Luego hizo otros ídolos, como el de la diosa Aserá, y con esto provocó la ira del Señor, Dios de Israel, más que cualquiera de los demás reyes que Israel había tenido antes de él.
34Fue durante su reinado que Jiel, un hombre de Betel reedificó la ciudad de Jericó. Cuando puso los cimientos, murió su hijo mayor Abirán; y cuando la completó y colocó las puertas, murió su hijo menor Segub. Así se cumplió la maldición que el Señor había lanzado sobre Jericó, por medio de Josué hijo de Nun.

1Y FUÉ palabra de Jehová á Jehú hijo de Hanani contra Baasa, diciendo:
2Pues que yo te levanté del polvo, y te puse por príncipe sobre mi pueblo Israel, y tú has andado en el camino de Jeroboam, y has hecho pecar á mi pueblo Israel, provocándome á ira con sus pecados;
3He aquí yo barreré la posteridad de Baasa, y la posteridad de su casa: y pondré tu casa como la casa de Jeroboam hijo de Nabat.
4El que de Baasa fuere muerto en la ciudad, le comerán los perros; y el que de él fuere muerto en el campo, comerlo han las aves del cielo.
5Lo demás de los hechos de Baasa, y las cosas que hizo, y su fortaleza, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel?
6Y durmió Baasa con sus padres, y fué sepultado en Thirsa; y reinó en su lugar Ela su hijo.
7Empero la palabra de Jehová por mano de Jehú profeta, hijo de Hanani, había sido contra Baasa y también contra su casa, con motivo de todo lo malo que hizo á los ojos de Jehová, provocándole á ira con las obras de sus manos, para que fuese hecha como la casa de Jeroboam; y porque lo había herido.
8En el año veintiséis de Asa rey de Judá, comenzó á reinar Ela hijo de Baasa sobre Israel en Thirsa; y reinó dos años.
9E hizo conjuración contra él su siervo Zimri, comandante de la mitad de los carros. Y estando él en Thirsa, bebiendo y embriagado en casa de Arsa su mayordomo en Thirsa,
10Vino Zimri, y lo hirió y mató, en el año veintisiete de Asa rey de Judá; y reinó en lugar suyo.
11Y luego que llegó á reinar y estuvo sentado en su trono, hirió toda la casa de Baasa, sin dejar en ella meante á la pared, ni sus parientes ni amigos.
12Así rayó Zimri toda la casa de Baasa, conforme á la palabra de Jehová, que había proferido contra Baasa por medio del profeta Jehú;
13Por todos los pecados de Baasa, y los pecados de Ela su hijo, con que ellos pecaron é hicieron pecar á Israel, provocando á enojo á Jehová Dios de Israel con sus vanidades.
14Los demás hechos de Ela, y todas las cosas que hizo, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel?
15En el año veintisiete de Asa rey de Judá, comenzó á reinar Zimri, y reinó siete días en Thirsa; y el pueblo había asentado campo sobre Gibbethón, ciudad de los Filisteos.
16Y el pueblo que estaba en el campo oyó decir: Zimri ha hecho conjuración, y ha muerto al rey. Entonces todo Israel levantó el mismo día por rey sobre Israel á Omri, general del ejército, en el campo.
17Y subió Omri de Gibbethón, y con él todo Israel, y cercaron á Thirsa.
18Mas viendo Zimri tomada la ciudad, metióse en el palacio de la casa real, y pegó fuego á la casa consigo: así murió,
19Por sus pecados que él había cometido, haciendo lo malo á los ojos de Jehová, y andando en los caminos de Jeroboam, y en su pecado que cometió, haciendo pecar á Israel.
20Los demás hechos de Zimri, y su conspiración que formó, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel?
21Entonces el pueblo de Israel fué dividido en dos partes: la mitad del pueblo seguía á Thibni hijo de Gineth, para hacerlo rey: y la otra mitad seguía á Omri.
22Mas el pueblo que seguía á Omri, pudo más que el que seguía á Thibni hijo de Gineth; y Thibni murió, y Omri fué rey.
23En el año treinta y uno de Asa rey de Judá, comenzó á reinar Omri sobre Israel, y reinó doce años: en Thirsa reinó seis años.
24Y compró él de Semer el monte de Samaria por dos talentos de plata, y edificó en el monte: y llamó el nombre de la ciudad que edificó, Samaria, del nombre de Semer, señor que fué de aquel monte.
25Y Omri hizo lo malo á los ojos de Jehová, é hizo peor que todos los que habían sido antes de él:
26Pues anduvo en todos los caminos de Jeroboam hijo de Nabat, y en su pecado con que hizo pecar á Israel, provocando á ira á Jehová Dios de Israel con sus ídolos.
27Lo demás de los hechos de Omri, y todas las cosas que hizo, y sus valentías que ejecutó, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel?
28Y Omri durmió con sus padres, y fué sepultado en Samaria; y reinó en lugar suyo Achâb, su hijo.
29Y comenzó á reinar Achâb hijo de Omri sobre Israel el año treinta y ocho de Asa rey de Judá.
30Y reinó Achâb hijo de Omri sobre Israel en Samaria veintidós años. Y Achâb hijo de Omri hizo lo malo á los ojos de Jehová sobre todos los que fueron antes de él;
31Porque le fué ligera cosa andar en los pecados de Jeroboam hijo de Nabat, y tomó por mujer á Jezabel hija de Ethbaal rey de los Sidonios, y fué y sirvió á Baal, y lo adoró.
32E hizo altar á Baal, en el templo de Baal que él edificó en Samaria.
33Hizo también Achâb un bosque; y añadió Achâb haciendo provocar á ira á Jehová Dios de Israel, más que todos los reyes de Israel que antes de él habían sido.
34En su tiempo Hiel de Beth-el reedificó á Jericó. En Abiram su primogénito echó el cimiento, y en Segub su hijo postrero puso sus puertas; conforme á la palabra de Jehová que había hablado por Josué hijo de Nun.

1Then the word of the LORD came to Jehu the son of Hanani against Baasha, saying,
2Forasmuch as I exalted thee out of the dust, and made thee prince over my people Israel; and thou hast walked in the way of Jeroboam, and hast made my people Israel to sin, to provoke me to anger with their sins;
3Behold, I will take away the posterity of Baasha, and the posterity of his house; and will make thy house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat.
4Him that dieth of Baasha in the city shall the dogs eat; and him that dieth of his in the fields shall the fowls of the air eat.
5Now the rest of the acts of Baasha, and what he did, and his might, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
6So Baasha slept with his fathers, and was buried in Tirzah: and Elah his son reigned in his stead.
7And also by the hand of the prophet Jehu the son of Hanani came the word of the LORD against Baasha, and against his house, even for all the evil that he did in the sight of the LORD, in provoking him to anger with the work of his hands, in being like the house of Jeroboam; and because he killed him.
8In the twenty and sixth year of Asa king of Judah began Elah the son of Baasha to reign over Israel in Tirzah, two years.
9And his servant Zimri, captain of half his chariots, conspired against him, as he was in Tirzah, drinking himself drunk in the house of Arza steward of his house in Tirzah.
10And Zimri went in and smote him, and killed him, in the twenty and seventh year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned in his stead.
11And it came to pass, when he began to reign, as soon as he sat on his throne, that he slew all the house of Baasha: he left him not one that pisseth against a wall, neither of his kinsfolks, nor of his friends.
12Thus did Zimri destroy all the house of Baasha, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake against Baasha by Jehu the prophet,
13For all the sins of Baasha, and the sins of Elah his son, by which they sinned, and by which they made Israel to sin, in provoking the LORD God of Israel to anger with their vanities.
14Now the rest of the acts of Elah, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
15In the twenty and seventh year of Asa king of Judah did Zimri reign seven days in Tirzah. And the people were encamped against Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines.
16And the people that were encamped heard say, Zimri hath conspired, and hath also slain the king: wherefore all Israel made Omri, the captain of the host, king over Israel that day in the camp.
17And Omri went up from Gibbethon, and all Israel with him, and they besieged Tirzah.
18And it came to pass, when Zimri saw that the city was taken, that he went into the palace of the king’s house, and burnt the king’s house over him with fire, and died,

21Then were the people of Israel divided into two parts: half of the people followed Tibni the son of Ginath, to make him king; and half followed Omri.
22But the people that followed Omri prevailed against the people that followed Tibni the son of Ginath: so Tibni died, and Omri reigned.
23In the thirty and first year of Asa king of Judah began Omri to reign over Israel, twelve years: six years reigned he in Tirzah.
24And he bought the hill Samaria of Shemer for two talents of silver, and built on the hill, and called the name of the city which he built, after the name of Shemer, owner of the hill, Samaria.
25But Omri wrought evil in the eyes of the LORD, and did worse than all that were before him.
26For he walked in all the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and in his sin wherewith he made Israel to sin, to provoke the LORD God of Israel to anger with their vanities.

1The LORD’s word came to Jehu the son of Hanani against Baasha, saying,
2“Because I exalted you out of the dust and made you prince over my people Israel, and you have walked in the way of Jeroboam and have made my people Israel to sin, to provoke me to anger with their sins,
3behold, I will utterly sweep away Baasha and his house; and I will make your house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat.
4The dogs will eat Baasha’s descendants who die in the city; and he who dies of his in the field, the birds of the sky will eat.”

34In his days Hiel the Bethelite built Jericho. He laid its foundation with the loss of Abiram his firstborn, and set up its gates with the loss of his youngest son Segub, according to the LORD’s word, which he spoke by Joshua the son of Nun.
