1Da erging das Wort des HERRN an Jehu, den Sohn Hananis, gegen Baesa also:
2»Weil ich dich aus dem Staub erhoben und dich zum Fürsten über mein Volk Israel gemacht habe, du aber auf dem Wege Jerobeams gewandelt bist und mein Volk Israel zur Sünde verführt hast, so daß sie mich durch ihre Sünden zum Zorn reizen,
3so will ich nun Baesa und sein Haus wegfegen und will es mit deinem Hause machen wie mit dem Hause Jerobeams, des Sohnes Nebats.
4Wer von den Angehörigen Baesas in der Stadt stirbt, den sollen die Hunde fressen, und wer von ihnen auf dem freien Felde stirbt, den sollen die Vögel des Himmels fressen!« –
5Die übrige Geschichte Baesas aber und was er unternommen hat sowie seine tapferen Taten, das findet sich bekanntlich aufgezeichnet im Buch der Denkwürdigkeiten der Könige von Israel. –
6Als Baesa sich dann zu seinen Vätern gelegt und man ihn in Thirza begraben hatte, folgte ihm sein Sohn Ela in der Regierung nach.
7Übrigens war das Wort des HERRN gegen Baesa und dessen Haus durch den Mund des Propheten Jehu, des Sohnes Hananis, sowohl wegen alles des Bösen ergangen, durch das er sich gegen den HERRN versündigt hatte, um ihn durch sein ganzes Tun zum Zorn zu reizen, so daß er es dem Hause Jerobeams gleichtat, als auch deshalb, weil er dieses ausgerottet hatte.
8Im sechsundzwanzigsten Jahre der Regierung Asas, des Königs von Juda, wurde Ela, der Sohn Baesas, König über Israel und regierte in Thirza zwei Jahre.
9Gegen ihn verschwor sich sein Diener Simri, einer seiner Obersten, der über die Hälfte der Kriegswagen gesetzt war. Als sich Ela nun einst in Thirza bei einem Gelage im Hause Arzas, seines Haushofmeisters in Thirza, berauscht hatte,
10drang Simri dort ein und erschlug ihn im siebenundzwanzigsten Jahre der Regierung Asas, des Königs von Juda, und wurde König an seiner Statt.
11Als er nun König geworden war, ermordete er, sobald er auf seinem Throne saß, alle zum Hause Baesas Gehörigen; er ließ keinen von ihnen übrig, der männlichen Geschlechts war, weder seine Blutsverwandten noch seine Freunde.
12So rottete Simri das ganze Haus Baesas aus, gemäß der Drohung, die der HERR durch den Mund des Propheten Jehu gegen Baesa ausgesprochen hatte,
13wegen all der Sünden, die Baesa und sein Sohn Ela begangen und zu denen sie Israel verführt hatten, um den HERRN, den Gott Israels, durch ihren Götzendienst zum Zorn zu reizen.
14Die übrige Geschichte Elas aber und alles, was er unternommen hat, findet sich bekanntlich aufgezeichnet im Buch der Denkwürdigkeiten der Könige von Israel.
15Im siebenundzwanzigsten Jahre der Regierung Asas, des Königs von Juda, wurde Simri König für sieben Tage in Thirza, während das Heer die Philisterstadt Gibbethon belagerte.
16Als nun das Heer im Lager die Kunde erhielt, Simri habe eine Verschwörung angestiftet und den König schon ermordet, da erhob das ganze israelitische Heer noch an demselben Tage Omri, den obersten Befehlshaber des israelitischen Heeres, im Lager zum König über Israel.
17Darauf zog Omri mit allen Israeliten von Gibbethon ab und belagerte Thirza.
18Als nun Simri sah, daß die Stadt erobert war, begab er sich in die Burg des königlichen Palastes, steckte den königlichen Palast über sich in Brand und fand so den Tod
19um seiner Sünden willen, die er begangen hatte, indem er tat, was dem HERRN mißfiel, indem er auf dem Wege Jerobeams wandelte und in dessen Sünde, durch die er sich verschuldet hatte, indem er Israel zur Sünde verleitete.
20Die übrige Geschichte Simris aber und seine Verschwörung, die er angestiftet hatte, das findet sich bekanntlich aufgezeichnet im Buche der Denkwürdigkeiten der Könige von Israel.
21Damals spaltete sich das Volk Israel in zwei Parteien: die eine Hälfte des Volkes hielt es mit Thibni, dem Sohne Ginaths, um ihn zum König zu machen, die andere Hälfte dagegen war für Omri.
22Aber die Partei Omris gewann die Oberhand über die Anhänger Thibnis, des Sohnes Ginaths; und als Thibni starb, wurde Omri König.
23Im einunddreißigsten Jahre der Regierung Asas, des Königs von Juda, wurde Omri König über Israel und regierte zwölf Jahre. Als er in Thirza sechs Jahre regiert hatte,
24kaufte er den Berg Samaria von Semer für zwei Talente Silber, befestigte dann den Berg und nannte die Stadt, die er dort gründete, Samaria nach dem Namen Semers, des früheren Besitzers des Berges.
25Omri tat aber, was dem HERRN mißfiel, ja, er trieb es noch ärger als alle seine Vorgänger;
26er wandelte ganz auf dem Wege Jerobeams, des Sohnes Nebats, und in den Sünden, zu denen jener die Israeliten verführt hatte, so daß sie den HERRN, den Gott Israels, durch ihren Götzendienst erzürnten.
27Die übrige Geschichte Omris aber, seine Unternehmungen und die tapferen Taten, die er vollführt hat, das alles findet sich bekanntlich aufgezeichnet im Buch der Denkwürdigkeiten der Könige von Israel.
28Als Omri sich dann zu seinen Vätern gelegt und man ihn in Samaria begraben hatte, folgte ihm sein Sohn Ahab in der Regierung nach.
29Ahab, der Sohn Omris, wurde König über Israel im achtunddreißigsten Jahre der Regierung Asas, des Königs von Juda; und Ahab, der Sohn Omris, regierte über Israel zweiundzwanzig Jahre in Samaria.
30Er tat aber, was dem HERRN mißfiel, und trieb es noch ärger als alle seine Vorgänger.
31Und nicht genug, daß er in den Sünden Jerobeams, des Sohnes Nebats, wandelte, heiratete er auch noch Isebel, die Tochter des Sidonierkönigs Ethbaal, und wandte sich dann dem Dienste Baals zu und betete ihn an.
32Er errichtete dem Baal auch einen Altar in dem Baaltempel, den er in Samaria erbaut hatte,
33und ließ das Ascherabild anfertigen und verübte noch andere Greuel, um den HERRN, den Gott Israels, noch heftiger zu erzürnen als alle israelitischen Könige, die vor ihm geherrscht hatten.
34Während seiner Regierung baute Hiel von Bethel die Stadt Jericho wieder auf. Die Grundlegung kostete seinem ältesten Sohne Abiram das Leben, und die Einsetzung der Tore brachte seinem jüngsten Sohne Segub den Tod, wie der HERR es durch den Mund Josuas, des Sohnes Nuns, vorausgesagt hatte.

1Y FUÉ palabra de Jehová á Jehú hijo de Hanani contra Baasa, diciendo:
2Pues que yo te levanté del polvo, y te puse por príncipe sobre mi pueblo Israel, y tú has andado en el camino de Jeroboam, y has hecho pecar á mi pueblo Israel, provocándome á ira con sus pecados;
3He aquí yo barreré la posteridad de Baasa, y la posteridad de su casa: y pondré tu casa como la casa de Jeroboam hijo de Nabat.
4El que de Baasa fuere muerto en la ciudad, le comerán los perros; y el que de él fuere muerto en el campo, comerlo han las aves del cielo.
5Lo demás de los hechos de Baasa, y las cosas que hizo, y su fortaleza, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel?
6Y durmió Baasa con sus padres, y fué sepultado en Thirsa; y reinó en su lugar Ela su hijo.
7Empero la palabra de Jehová por mano de Jehú profeta, hijo de Hanani, había sido contra Baasa y también contra su casa, con motivo de todo lo malo que hizo á los ojos de Jehová, provocándole á ira con las obras de sus manos, para que fuese hecha como la casa de Jeroboam; y porque lo había herido.
8En el año veintiséis de Asa rey de Judá, comenzó á reinar Ela hijo de Baasa sobre Israel en Thirsa; y reinó dos años.
9E hizo conjuración contra él su siervo Zimri, comandante de la mitad de los carros. Y estando él en Thirsa, bebiendo y embriagado en casa de Arsa su mayordomo en Thirsa,
10Vino Zimri, y lo hirió y mató, en el año veintisiete de Asa rey de Judá; y reinó en lugar suyo.
11Y luego que llegó á reinar y estuvo sentado en su trono, hirió toda la casa de Baasa, sin dejar en ella meante á la pared, ni sus parientes ni amigos.
12Así rayó Zimri toda la casa de Baasa, conforme á la palabra de Jehová, que había proferido contra Baasa por medio del profeta Jehú;
13Por todos los pecados de Baasa, y los pecados de Ela su hijo, con que ellos pecaron é hicieron pecar á Israel, provocando á enojo á Jehová Dios de Israel con sus vanidades.
14Los demás hechos de Ela, y todas las cosas que hizo, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel?
15En el año veintisiete de Asa rey de Judá, comenzó á reinar Zimri, y reinó siete días en Thirsa; y el pueblo había asentado campo sobre Gibbethón, ciudad de los Filisteos.
16Y el pueblo que estaba en el campo oyó decir: Zimri ha hecho conjuración, y ha muerto al rey. Entonces todo Israel levantó el mismo día por rey sobre Israel á Omri, general del ejército, en el campo.
17Y subió Omri de Gibbethón, y con él todo Israel, y cercaron á Thirsa.
18Mas viendo Zimri tomada la ciudad, metióse en el palacio de la casa real, y pegó fuego á la casa consigo: así murió,
19Por sus pecados que él había cometido, haciendo lo malo á los ojos de Jehová, y andando en los caminos de Jeroboam, y en su pecado que cometió, haciendo pecar á Israel.
20Los demás hechos de Zimri, y su conspiración que formó, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel?
21Entonces el pueblo de Israel fué dividido en dos partes: la mitad del pueblo seguía á Thibni hijo de Gineth, para hacerlo rey: y la otra mitad seguía á Omri.
22Mas el pueblo que seguía á Omri, pudo más que el que seguía á Thibni hijo de Gineth; y Thibni murió, y Omri fué rey.
23En el año treinta y uno de Asa rey de Judá, comenzó á reinar Omri sobre Israel, y reinó doce años: en Thirsa reinó seis años.
24Y compró él de Semer el monte de Samaria por dos talentos de plata, y edificó en el monte: y llamó el nombre de la ciudad que edificó, Samaria, del nombre de Semer, señor que fué de aquel monte.
25Y Omri hizo lo malo á los ojos de Jehová, é hizo peor que todos los que habían sido antes de él:
26Pues anduvo en todos los caminos de Jeroboam hijo de Nabat, y en su pecado con que hizo pecar á Israel, provocando á ira á Jehová Dios de Israel con sus ídolos.
27Lo demás de los hechos de Omri, y todas las cosas que hizo, y sus valentías que ejecutó, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel?
28Y Omri durmió con sus padres, y fué sepultado en Samaria; y reinó en lugar suyo Achâb, su hijo.
29Y comenzó á reinar Achâb hijo de Omri sobre Israel el año treinta y ocho de Asa rey de Judá.
30Y reinó Achâb hijo de Omri sobre Israel en Samaria veintidós años. Y Achâb hijo de Omri hizo lo malo á los ojos de Jehová sobre todos los que fueron antes de él;
31Porque le fué ligera cosa andar en los pecados de Jeroboam hijo de Nabat, y tomó por mujer á Jezabel hija de Ethbaal rey de los Sidonios, y fué y sirvió á Baal, y lo adoró.
32E hizo altar á Baal, en el templo de Baal que él edificó en Samaria.
33Hizo también Achâb un bosque; y añadió Achâb haciendo provocar á ira á Jehová Dios de Israel, más que todos los reyes de Israel que antes de él habían sido.
34En su tiempo Hiel de Beth-el reedificó á Jericó. En Abiram su primogénito echó el cimiento, y en Segub su hijo postrero puso sus puertas; conforme á la palabra de Jehová que había hablado por Josué hijo de Nun.

1Then the word of the LORD came to Jehu the son of Hanani against Baasha, saying,
2Forasmuch as I exalted thee out of the dust, and made thee prince over my people Israel; and thou hast walked in the way of Jeroboam, and hast made my people Israel to sin, to provoke me to anger with their sins;
3Behold, I will take away the posterity of Baasha, and the posterity of his house; and will make thy house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat.
4Him that dieth of Baasha in the city shall the dogs eat; and him that dieth of his in the fields shall the fowls of the air eat.
5Now the rest of the acts of Baasha, and what he did, and his might, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
6So Baasha slept with his fathers, and was buried in Tirzah: and Elah his son reigned in his stead.
7And also by the hand of the prophet Jehu the son of Hanani came the word of the LORD against Baasha, and against his house, even for all the evil that he did in the sight of the LORD, in provoking him to anger with the work of his hands, in being like the house of Jeroboam; and because he killed him.
8In the twenty and sixth year of Asa king of Judah began Elah the son of Baasha to reign over Israel in Tirzah, two years.
9And his servant Zimri, captain of half his chariots, conspired against him, as he was in Tirzah, drinking himself drunk in the house of Arza steward of his house in Tirzah.
10And Zimri went in and smote him, and killed him, in the twenty and seventh year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned in his stead.
11And it came to pass, when he began to reign, as soon as he sat on his throne, that he slew all the house of Baasha: he left him not one that pisseth against a wall, neither of his kinsfolks, nor of his friends.
12Thus did Zimri destroy all the house of Baasha, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake against Baasha by Jehu the prophet,
13For all the sins of Baasha, and the sins of Elah his son, by which they sinned, and by which they made Israel to sin, in provoking the LORD God of Israel to anger with their vanities.
14Now the rest of the acts of Elah, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
15In the twenty and seventh year of Asa king of Judah did Zimri reign seven days in Tirzah. And the people were encamped against Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines.
16And the people that were encamped heard say, Zimri hath conspired, and hath also slain the king: wherefore all Israel made Omri, the captain of the host, king over Israel that day in the camp.
17And Omri went up from Gibbethon, and all Israel with him, and they besieged Tirzah.

1The LORD’s word came to Jehu the son of Hanani against Baasha, saying,
2“Because I exalted you out of the dust and made you prince over my people Israel, and you have walked in the way of Jeroboam and have made my people Israel to sin, to provoke me to anger with their sins,
3behold, I will utterly sweep away Baasha and his house; and I will make your house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat.
4The dogs will eat Baasha’s descendants who die in the city; and he who dies of his in the field, the birds of the sky will eat.”
5Now the rest of the acts of Baasha, and what he did, and his might, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

10and Zimri went in and struck him and killed him in the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned in his place.
11When he began to reign, as soon as he sat on his throne, he attacked all the house of Baasha. He didn’t leave him a single one who urinates on a wall among his relatives or his friends.
12Thus Zimri destroyed all the house of Baasha, according to the LORD’s word which he spoke against Baasha by Jehu the prophet,
13for all the sins of Baasha, and the sins of Elah his son, which they sinned and with which they made Israel to sin, to provoke the LORD, the God of Israel, to anger with their vanities.
