34Zu derselben Zeit baute Hiel von Bethel Jericho wieder auf. Es kostete ihn seinen erstgeborenen Sohn Abiram, als er ihren Grund legte, und seinen jüngsten Sohn Segub, als er ihre Tore setzte, nach dem Worte des HERRN, welches er durch Josua, den Sohn Nuns, geredet hatte.

34In his days did Hiel the Beth-elite build Jericho: he laid the foundation thereof in Abiram his firstborn, and set up the gates thereof in his youngest son Segub, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by Joshua the son of Nun.
