1Um selbige Zeit erkrankte Abijah, der Sohn Jerobeams.
2Und Jerobeam sprach zu seinem Weibe: Mache dich doch auf und verstelle dich, daß man nicht weiß, daß du Jerobeams Weib bist, und gehe hin nach Schiloh. Siehe, dort ist Achijah, der Prophet, der zu mir geredet, daß ich König würde über dieses Volk.
3Und nimm zehn Brote in deine Hand und Streuküchlein und einen Krug mit Honig und gehe zu ihm. Der wird dir ansagen, wie es mit dem Jungen sein wird.
4Und das Weib Jerobeams tat also und machte sich auf und ging nach Schiloh und kam in Achijahs Haus. Und Achijahu vermochte nicht zu sehen, denn seine Augen waren starr vom Greisenalter.
5Jehovah aber hatte zu Achijahu gesagt: Siehe, das Weib Jerobeams kommt, um dich ein Wort zu befragen über ihren Sohn, der krank ist. So und so rede mit ihr, und sie wird bei ihrem Kommen sich fremd stellen.
6Und es geschah, daß Achijah den Schall ihrer Füße hörte, wie sie zum Eingang kam; da sprach er: Komm herein, Weib Jerobeams, warum stellst du dich fremd? Ich bin aber gesandt zu dir mit Hartem.
7Gehe hin, sage Jerobeam: So spricht Jehovah, der Gott Israels, weil Ich dich mitten aus dem Volke erhöht und dich zum Führer über Mein Volk Israel gegeben,
8Und das Königtum vom Hause Davids gerissen und es dir gegeben habe, und du nicht gewesen bist wie Mein Knecht David, der Meine Gebote hielt und wandelte Mir nach von ganzem Herzen, daß er nur tat, was recht in Meinen Augen war;
9Und Böseres getan hast als alle, die vor dir waren, und hingingst und dir andere Götter und Gußbilder machtest, um Mich zu reizen, und Mich hinter deinen Rücken warfst;
10Darum, siehe, bringe Ich Böses über das Haus Jerobeams, und rotte aus dem Jerobeam, was an die Wand pisset, die Zurückgehaltenen und die Verlassenen in Israel und fege aus hinter dem Hause Jerobeams her, so wie man den Kot ausfegt, bis es zunichte wird.
11Was dem Jerobeam stirbt in der Stadt, sollen die Hunde fressen; und was auf dem Felde stirbt, das soll das Gevögel der Himmel fressen! Denn Jehovah hat es geredet.
12Du aber mache dich auf, gehe nach deinem Hause; wenn deine Füße in die Stadt eingehen, so ist das Kind tot.
13Und ganz Israel wird um ihn klagen und ihn begraben; aber er allein wird von Jerobeam in ein Grab kommen, darum, daß in ihm noch Gutes gegen Jehovah, den Gott Israels, in Jerobeams Hause gefunden ward.
14Jehovah aber wird Sich einen König über Israel erstehen lassen, der das Haus des Jerobeam ausrotten wird an jenem Tage! Und was auch jetzt?
15Und Jehovah wird Israel schlagen, gleich wie das Rohr im Wasser umhergeweht wird und wird Israel ausreißen von diesem guten Boden, den Er ihren Vätern gegeben hat, und über den Fluß hin zersprengen, weil sie sich Ascheren gemacht, um Jehovah zu reizen.
16Und er wird Israel hingeben wegen der Sünden Jerobeam, die er gesündigt, und die er Israel sündigen machte.
17Und Jerobeams Weib machte sich auf und ging und kam nach Thirzah; sie kam auf die Schwelle des Hauses, und der Junge starb.
18Und ganz Israel begrub ihn und klagte um ihn nach dem Worte Jehovahs, das er durch die Hand Seines Knechtes Achijahu, des Propheten, geredet hatte.
19Und die übrigen Geschichten Jerobeams, wie er stritt und wie er regierte, siehe, sie sind geschrieben in dem Buche der Tagesgeschichte der Könige Israels.
20Und der Tage, die Jerobeam König war, waren zweiundzwanzig Jahre, und er entschlief zu seinen Vätern, und sein Sohn Nadab ward König an seiner Stelle.
21Und Rechabeam, der Sohn Salomohs, war König in Judah. Einundvierzig Jahre alt war Rechabeam, als er König wurde, und regierte siebzehn Jahre in Jerusalem, der Stadt, die Jehovah aus allen Stämmen Israels erwählt hatte, Seinen Namen allda zu setzen; und der Name seiner Mutter war Naamah, die Ammoniterin,
22Und Judah tat, was böse war in den Augen Jehovahs, und sie erregten ihn zum Eifer, mehr denn alles, was ihre Väter getan, mit ihren Sünden, die sie sündigten.
23Und sie bauten sich auch Opferhöhen und Bildsäulen und Ascheren auf jedem hohen Hügel und unter jedem grünen Baum.
24Und Buhlknaben waren auch im Lande, sie taten nach allen Greueln der Völkerschaften, die Jehovah vor den Söhnen Israels ausgetrieben hatte.
25Und es geschah, im fünften Jahre des Königs Rechabeam zog Schischak, König von Ägypten, wider Jerusalem herauf;
26Und er nahm die Schätze des Hauses Jehovahs und die Schätze des Hauses des Königs, und alles nahm er hinweg, und er nahm die goldenen Schilde, die Salomoh hatte machen lassen.
27Und König Rechabeam ließ statt ihrer eherne Schilde machen, und bestellte sie in die Hand der Obersten der Läufer, die den Eingang des Hauses des Königs hüteten.
28Und es geschah, wenn der König in das Haus Jehovahs einging, trugen sie die Läufer und brachten sie in das Zimmer der Läufer zurück.
29Und die übrigen Geschichten Rechabeams und alles, was er getan, sind sie nicht geschrieben in dem Buche der Tagesgeschichten der Könige Judahs?
30Und all die Tage war Streit zwischen Rechabeam und Jerobeam.
31Und Rechabeam entschlief zu seinen Vätern und ward begraben bei seinen Vätern in der Stadt Davids. Und der Name seiner Mutter war Naamah, die Ammoniterin, und König ward an seiner Stelle Abijam, sein Sohn.

1EN aquel tiempo Abías hijo de Jeroboam cayó enfermo.
2Y dijo Jeroboam á su mujer: Levántate ahora, disfrázate, porque no te conozcan que eres la mujer de Jeroboam, y ve á Silo; que allá está Ahías profeta, el que me dijo que yo había de ser rey sobre este pueblo.
3Y toma en tu mano diez panes, y turrones, y una botija de miel, y ve á él; que te declare lo que ha de ser de este mozo.
4Y la mujer de Jeroboam hízolo así; y levantóse, y fué á Silo, y vino á casa de Ahías. Y no podía ya ver Ahías, que sus ojos se habían oscurecido á causa de su vejez.
5Mas Jehová había dicho á Ahías: He aquí que la mujer de Jeroboam vendrá á consultarte por su hijo, que está enfermo: así y así le has de responder; pues será que cuando ella viniere, vendrá disimulada.
6Y como Ahías oyó el sonido de sus pies cuando entraba por la puerta, dijo: Entra, mujer de Jeroboam; ¿por qué te finges otra? empero yo soy enviado á ti con revelación dura.
7Ve, y di á Jeroboam: Así dijo Jehová Dios de Israel: Por cuanto yo te levanté de en medio del pueblo, y te hice príncipe sobre mi pueblo Israel,
8Y rompí el reino de la casa de David, y te lo entregué á ti; y tú no has sido como David mi siervo, que guardó mis mandamientos y anduvo en pos de mí con todo su corazón, haciendo solamente lo derecho delante de mis ojos;
9Antes hiciste lo malo sobre todos los que han sido antes de ti: que fuiste y te hiciste dioses ajenos y de fundición para enojarme, y á mí me echaste tras tus espaldas:
10Por tanto, he aquí que yo traigo mal sobre la casa de Jeroboam, y yo talaré de Jeroboam todo meante á la pared, así el guardado como el desamparado en Israel; y barreré la posteridad de la casa de Jeroboam, como es barrido el estiércol, hasta que sea acabada.
11El que muriere de los de Jeroboam en la ciudad, le comerán los perros; y el que muriere en el campo, comerlo han las aves del cielo; porque Jehová lo ha dicho.
12Y tú levántate, y vete á tu casa; que en entrando tu pie en la ciudad, morirá el mozo.
13Y todo Israel lo endechará, y le enterrarán; porque sólo él de los de Jeroboam entrará en sepultura; por cuanto se ha hallado en él alguna cosa buena de Jehová Dios de Israel, en la casa de Jeroboam.
14Y Jehová se levantará un rey sobre Israel, el cual talará la casa de Jeroboam en este día; ¿y qué, si ahora?
15Y Jehová sacudirá á Israel, al modo que la caña se agita en las aguas: y él arrancará á Israel de esta buena tierra que había dado á sus padres, y esparcirálos de la otra parte del río, por cuanto han hecho sus bosques, enojando á Jehová.
16Y él entregará á Israel por los pecados de Jeroboam, el cual pecó, y ha hecho pecar á Israel.
17Entonces la mujer de Jeroboam se levantó, y se fué, y vino á Thirsa: y entrando ella por el umbral de la casa, el mozo murió.
18Y enterráronlo, y endechólo todo Israel, conforme á la palabra de Jehová, que él había hablado por mano de su siervo Ahías profeta.
19Los otros hechos de Jeroboam, qué guerras hizo, y cómo reinó, todo está escrito en el libro de las historias de los reyes de Israel.
20El tiempo que reinó Jeroboam fueron veintidós años; y habiendo dormido con sus padres, reinó en su lugar Nadab su hijo.
21Y Roboam hijo de Salomón reinó en Judá. De cuarenta y un años era Roboam cuando comenzó á reinar, y diecisiete años reinó en Jerusalem, ciudad que Jehová eligió de todas las tribus de Israel, para poner allí su nombre. El nombre de su madre fué Naama, Ammonita.
22Y Judá hizo lo malo en los ojos de Jehová, y enojáronle más que todo lo que sus padres habían hecho en sus pecados que cometieron.
23Porque ellos también se edificaron altos, estatuas, y bosques, en todo collado alto, y debajo de todo árbol frondoso:
24Y hubo también sodomitas en la tierra, é hicieron conforme á todas las abominaciones de las gentes que Jehová había echado delante de los hijos de Israel.
25Al quinto año del rey Roboam subió Sisac rey de Egipto contra Jerusalem.
26Y tomó los tesoros de la casa de Jehová, y los tesoros de la casa real, y saqueólo todo: llevóse también todos los escudos de oro que Salomón había hecho.
27Y en lugar de ellos hizo el rey Roboam escudos de metal, y diólos en manos de los capitanes de los de la guardia, quienes custodiaban la puerta de la casa real.
28Y cuando el rey entraba en la casa de Jehová, los de la guardia los llevaban; y poníanlos después en la cámara de los de la guardia.
29Lo demás de los hechos de Roboam, y todas las cosas que hizo, ¿no están escritas en las crónicas de los reyes de Judá?
30Y hubo guerra entre Roboam y Jeroboam todos los días.
31Y durmió Roboam con sus padres, y fué sepultado con sus padres en la ciudad de David. El nombre de su madre fué Naama, Ammonita. Y reinó en su lugar Abiam su hijo.

1At that time Abijah the son of Jeroboam fell sick.
2And Jeroboam said to his wife, Arise, I pray thee, and disguise thyself, that thou be not known to be the wife of Jeroboam; and get thee to Shiloh: behold, there is Ahijah the prophet, which told me that I should be king over this people.
3And take with thee ten loaves, and cracknels, and a cruse of honey, and go to him: he shall tell thee what shall become of the child.
4And Jeroboam’s wife did so, and arose, and went to Shiloh, and came to the house of Ahijah. But Ahijah could not see; for his eyes were set by reason of his age.
5And the LORD said unto Ahijah, Behold, the wife of Jeroboam cometh to ask a thing of thee for her son; for he is sick: thus and thus shalt thou say unto her: for it shall be, when she cometh in, that she shall feign herself to be another woman.
6And it was so, when Ahijah heard the sound of her feet, as she came in at the door, that he said, Come in, thou wife of Jeroboam; why feignest thou thyself to be another? for I am sent to thee with heavy tidings.
7Go, tell Jeroboam, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Forasmuch as I exalted thee from among the people, and made thee prince over my people Israel,
8And rent the kingdom away from the house of David, and gave it thee: and yet thou hast not been as my servant David, who kept my commandments, and who followed me with all his heart, to do that only which was right in mine eyes;
9But hast done evil above all that were before thee: for thou hast gone and made thee other gods, and molten images, to provoke me to anger, and hast cast me behind thy back:
10Therefore, behold, I will bring evil upon the house of Jeroboam, and will cut off from Jeroboam him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel, and will take away the remnant of the house of Jeroboam, as a man taketh away dung, till it be all gone.
11Him that dieth of Jeroboam in the city shall the dogs eat; and him that dieth in the field shall the fowls of the air eat: for the LORD hath spoken it.
12Arise thou therefore, get thee to thine own house: and when thy feet enter into the city, the child shall die.
13And all Israel shall mourn for him, and bury him: for he only of Jeroboam shall come to the grave, because in him there is found some good thing toward the LORD God of Israel in the house of Jeroboam.
14Moreover the LORD shall raise him up a king over Israel, who shall cut off the house of Jeroboam that day: but what? even now.
15For the LORD shall smite Israel, as a reed is shaken in the water, and he shall root up Israel out of this good land, which he gave to their fathers, and shall scatter them beyond the river, because they have made their groves, provoking the LORD to anger.
16And he shall give Israel up because of the sins of Jeroboam, who did sin, and who made Israel to sin.
17And Jeroboam’s wife arose, and departed, and came to Tirzah: and when she came to the threshold of the door, the child died;
18And they buried him; and all Israel mourned for him, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by the hand of his servant Ahijah the prophet.
19And the rest of the acts of Jeroboam, how he warred, and how he reigned, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.
20And the days which Jeroboam reigned were two and twenty years: and he slept with his fathers, and Nadab his son reigned in his stead.
21And Rehoboam the son of Solomon reigned in Judah. Rehoboam was forty and one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which the LORD did choose out of all the tribes of Israel, to put his name there. And his mother’s name was Naamah an Ammonitess.
22And Judah did evil in the sight of the LORD, and they provoked him to jealousy with their sins which they had committed, above all that their fathers had done.
23For they also built them high places, and images, and groves, on every high hill, and under every green tree.
24And there were also sodomites in the land: and they did according to all the abominations of the nations which the LORD cast out before the children of Israel.
25And it came to pass in the fifth year of king Rehoboam, that Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem:

27And king Rehoboam made in their stead brasen shields, and committed them unto the hands of the chief of the guard, which kept the door of the king’s house.
28And it was so, when the king went into the house of the LORD, that the guard bare them, and brought them back into the guard chamber.
29Now the rest of the acts of Rehoboam, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
30And there was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all their days.

1At that time Abijah the son of Jeroboam became sick.
2Jeroboam said to his wife, “Please get up and disguise yourself, so that you won’t be recognized as Jeroboam’s wife. Go to Shiloh. Behold, Ahijah the prophet is there, who said that I would be king over this people.
3Take with you ten loaves of bread, some cakes, and a jar of honey, and go to him. He will tell you what will become of the child.”
4Jeroboam’s wife did so, and arose and went to Shiloh, and came to Ahijah’s house. Now Ahijah could not see, for his eyes were set by reason of his age.
5The LORD said to Ahijah, “Behold, Jeroboam’s wife is coming to inquire of you concerning her son, for he is sick. Tell her such and such; for it will be, when she comes in, that she will pretend to be another woman.”
6So when Ahijah heard the sound of her feet as she came in at the door, he said, “Come in, Jeroboam’s wife! Why do you pretend to be another? For I am sent to you with heavy news.
7Go, tell Jeroboam, ‘The LORD, the God of Israel, says: “Because I exalted you from among the people, and made you prince over my people Israel,
8and tore the kingdom away from David’s house, and gave it to you; and yet you have not been as my servant David, who kept my commandments, and who followed me with all his heart, to do that only which was right in my eyes,
9but have done evil above all who were before you, and have gone and made for yourself other gods, molten images, to provoke me to anger, and have cast me behind your back,
10therefore, behold, I will bring evil on the house of Jeroboam, and will cut off from Jeroboam everyone who urinates on a wall, he who is shut up and he who is left at large in Israel, and will utterly sweep away the house of Jeroboam, as a man sweeps away dung until it is all gone.
11The dogs will eat whoever belongs to Jeroboam who dies in the city; and the birds of the sky will eat whoever dies in the field, for the LORD has spoken it.”’
12Arise therefore, and go to your house. When your feet enter into the city, the child will die.
13All Israel will mourn for him and bury him; for he only of Jeroboam will come to the grave, because in him there is found some good thing toward the LORD, the God of Israel, in the house of Jeroboam.
14Moreover the LORD will raise up a king for himself over Israel who will cut off the house of Jeroboam. This is the day! What? Even now.
15For the LORD will strike Israel, as a reed is shaken in the water; and he will root up Israel out of this good land which he gave to their fathers, and will scatter them beyond the River, because they have made their Asherah poles, provoking the LORD to anger.
16He will give Israel up because of the sins of Jeroboam, which he has sinned, and with which he has made Israel to sin.”
17Jeroboam’s wife arose and departed, and came to Tirzah. As she came to the threshold of the house, the child died.
18All Israel buried him and mourned for him, according to the LORD’s word, which he spoke by his servant Ahijah the prophet.

20The days which Jeroboam reigned were twenty two years; then he slept with his fathers, and Nadab his son reigned in his place.
21Rehoboam the son of Solomon reigned in Judah. Rehoboam was forty-one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which the LORD had chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, to put his name there. His mother’s name was Naamah the Ammonitess.
22Judah did that which was evil in the LORD’s sight, and they provoked him to jealousy with their sins which they committed, above all that their fathers had done.

26and he took away the treasures of the LORD’s house and the treasures of the king’s house. He even took away all of it, including all the gold shields which Solomon had made.
27King Rehoboam made shields of bronze in their place, and committed them to the hands of the captains of the guard, who guarded the door of the king’s house.
28It was so, that as often as the king went into the LORD’s house, the guard bore them, and brought them back into the guard room.
29Now the rest of the acts of Rehoboam, and all that he did, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
30There was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam continually.
31Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in David’s city. His mother’s name was Naamah the Ammonitess. Abijam his son reigned in his place.
