In vece de' quali il re Roboamo fece degli scudi di bronzo, e li pose nelle mani dei capitani delle guardie, e di quelli, che facevano sentinella dinanzi alla porta della casa del re.

Y en lugar de ellos hizo el rey Roboam escudos de metal, y diólos en manos de los capitanes de los de la guardia, quienes custodiaban la puerta de la casa real.

And king Rehoboam made in their stead brasen shields, and committed them unto the hands of the chief of the guard, which kept the door of the king’s house.

King Rehoboam made shields of bronze in their place, and committed them to the hands of the captains of the guard, who guarded the door of the king’s house.
