1König Salomoh aber liebte viele ausländische Weiber, und neben der Tochter Pharaos, moabitische, ammonitische, edomitische, zidonische und chethitische.
2Von den Völkerschaften, von denen Jehovah zu den Söhnen Israels gesprochen: Ihr sollt nicht zu ihnen eingehen, und sie sollen nicht zu euch kommen; sie würden fürwahr euer Herz neigen ihren Göttern nach. An sie hing sich Salomoh, sie zu lieben.
3Und er hatte zu Weibern siebenhundert Fürstinnen und dreihundert Kebsweiber und seine Weiber neigten sein Herz ab.
4Und es geschah zur Zeit, da Salomoh alt wurde, daß seine Weiber sein Herz anderen Göttern nach neigten, und sein Herz nicht mehr ganz mit Jehovah, seinem Gotte, war, wie das Herz Davids, seines Vaters.
5Und Salomoh wandelte der Aschthoreth, der Gottheit der Zidonier, und Milkom, dem Scheusal der Ammoniter, nach.
6Und Salomoh tat, was böse war in den Augen Jehovahs und folgte nicht völlig Jehovah nach, wie David, sein Vater.
7Da baute Salomoh dem Kemosch, dem Scheusal Moabs, eine Opferhöhe auf dem Berge, der vor Jerusalem ist, und dem Molech, dem Scheusal der Söhne Ammons.
8Und so tat er für alle seine ausländischen Weiber, und sie räucherten und opferten ihren Göttern.
9Und Jehovah zürnte wider Salomoh, weil sein Herz sich abgeneigt hatte von Jehovah, dem Gotte Israels, Der ihm zweimal erschienen war,
10Und ihm geboten hatte über dieses Wort, daß er nicht wandle anderen Göttern nach. Aber er hatte nicht gehalten, was Jehovah gebot.
11Und Jehovah sprach zu Salomoh: Weil solches bei dir geschehen und du Meinen Bund und Meine Satzungen, die Ich dir geboten, nicht gehalten hast, so werde Ich das Reich von dir reißen und es deinem Knechte geben.
12Doch will Ich in deinen Tagen es nicht tun, um Davids, deines Vaters willen, aus deines Sohnes Hand werde Ich es reißen.
13Doch nicht das ganze Reich werde Ich entreißen; einen Stamm will Ich deinem Sohne geben, um Davids, Meines Knechtes willen und um Jerusalem willen, das Ich erwählt habe.
14Und Jehovah ließ erstehen wider Salomoh einen Widersacher, den Edomiter Hadad, vom Samen des Königs, der in Edom war.
15Denn es geschah, als David in Edom war und Joab, der Oberste des Heeres, hinaufzog die Erschlagenen zu begraben, schlug derselbe alles, was männlich war in Edom.
16Denn sechs Monate war Joab und ganz Israel dort geblieben, bis er alles Männliche in Edom ausgerottet hatte.
17Und Hadad entwich, er und edomitische Männer von den Knechten seines Vaters mit ihm, um nach Ägypten zu gehen, und Hadad war ein kleiner Junge.
18Und sie machten sich auf aus Midjan und kamen nach Paran. Und von Paran nahmen sie Männer mit sich und kamen nach Ägypten zu Pharao, dem Könige Ägyptens, und der gab ihm ein Haus und verordnete ihm Brot und gab ihm Land.
19Und Hadad fand Gnade in den Augen Pharaos, so sehr, daß er ihm zum Weibe gab die Schwester seines Weibes, die Schwester der Tachpenes, der Gebieterin.
20Und die Schwester der Tachpenes gebar ihm Genubath, seinen Sohn, und Tachpenes entwöhnte ihn inmitten des Hauses Pharaos, und Genubath war im Hause Pharaos, inmitten der Söhne Pharaos.
21Und Hadad hörte in Ägypten, daß David zu seinen Vätern entschlafen war und der Oberste des Heeres, Joab, tot war; und Hadad sprach zu Pharao: Entlasse mich, daß ich in mein Land gehe.
22Und Pharao sprach zu ihm: Was mangelt dir bei mir? und siehe, du suchst in dein Land zu gehen. Er aber sprach: Nichts, aber entlasse mich.
23Und Gott ließ auch zum Widersacher gegen ihn erstehen Reson, den Sohn Eljadas, der von Hadadeser, dem Könige von Zobah, seinem Herrn, entwichen war.
24Und der zog Männer zu sich zusammen und ward der Oberste eines Kriegshaufens, als David jene erwürgte; und sie gingen nach Damask und wohnten darin, und sie machten ihn zum König in Damask.
25Und er war ein Widersacher Israels alle Tage Salomohs, neben dem Bösen, das Hadad getan. Er hatte Überdruß an Israel und war König über Aram.
26Und Jerobeam, der Sohn Nebaths, ein Ephraititer aus Zeredah, und seiner Mutter Name war Zeruah, und sie war ein Weib, eine Witwe; er war ein Knecht Salomohs, und hob die Hand empor wider den König.
27Und das ist die Sache, darum er die Hand emporhob wider den König: Salomoh baute das Millo und schloß ein die Lücke der Stadt Davids, seines Vaters.
28Und der Mann, Jerobeam, war ein tapferer Held, und da Salomoh den Jungen sah, wie er das Werk tat, bestellte er ihn über die ganze Fronde des Hauses Joseph.
29Und es geschah um jene Zeit, daß Jerobeam aus Jerusalem hinausging, und Achijah aus Schiloh, der Prophet fand ihn auf dem Wege, und jener hatte sich mit einem neuen Gewand bedeckt, und die zwei waren allein auf dem Felde.
30Und Achijah faßte das neue Gewand, das auf ihm war, und riß es in zwölf Lappen.
31Und sprach zu Jerobeam: Nimm dir zehn Lappen; denn so spricht Jehovah, der Gott Israels: Siehe, Ich reiße das Königtum aus der Hand Salomohs, und gebe dir die zehn Stämme.
32Und der eine Stamm soll ihm sein, um Meines Knechtes David und der Stadt Jerusalem willen, die Ich aus allen Stämmen Israels erwählt habe.
33Weil sie Mich verlassen und Aschthoreth, die Gottheit der Zidonier, den Kemosch, Moabs Gott, und Milkom, den Gott der Söhne Ammons, angebetet und nicht in Meinen Wegen gewandelt, daß sie täten, was recht in Meinen Augen ist, und Meine Satzungen und Meine Rechte, wie David, sein Vater.
34Ich werde aber nicht das ganze Reich aus seiner Hand nehmen, sondern ihn zum Fürsten setzen alle Tage seines Lebens, wegen David, Meines Knechtes, den Ich erwählt, und der Meine Gebote und Meine Satzungen gehalten hat.
35Aber aus der Hand seines Sohnes nehme Ich das Königtum, und gebe dir die zehn Stämme.
36Aber seinem Sohne gebe Ich einen Stamm, auf daß denn David, Meinem Knechte, alle Tage eine Leuchte sei vor Meinem Angesicht in der Stadt Jerusalem, die Ich Mir erwählt habe, Meinen Namen allda einzusetzen.
37Und dich nehme Ich, daß du regierst über alles, was deine Seele gelüstet, und du sollst König sein über Israel.
38Und es soll sein, wenn du hörst auf alles, was Ich dir gebiete, und in Meinen Wegen wandelst und tust, was recht in Meinen Augen ist, so daß du Meine Satzungen und Meine Gebote hältst, wie David, Mein Knecht, getan: So will Ich mit dir sein und dir ein bewährtes Haus bauen, wie Ich dem David baute, und will dir Israel geben.
39Den Samen Davids aber will Ich darob demütigen, doch nicht für alle Tage.
40Und Salomoh suchte den Jerobeam zu töten, aber Jerobeam machte sich auf und entwich nach Ägypten zu Schischak, dem König Ägyptens; und war in Ägypten bis zum Tode Salomohs.
41Und die übrige Geschichte Salomohs, und alles, was er getan, und seine Weisheit, sind sie nicht geschrieben im Buche der Worte Salomohs?
42Die Tage aber, die Salomoh in Jerusalem über ganz Israel regierte, waren vierzig Jahre.
43Und Salomoh entschlief mit seinen Vätern und ward begraben in der Stadt Davids, seines Vaters, und Rechabeam, sein Sohn, ward König an seiner Stelle.

1EMPERO el rey Salomón amó, á más de la hija de Faraón, muchas mujeres extranjeras: á las de Moab, á las de Ammón, á las de Idumea, á las de Sidón, y á las Hetheas;
2Gentes de las cuales Jehová había dicho á los hijos de Israel: No entraréis á ellas, ni ellas entrarán á vosotros; porque ciertamente harán inclinar vuestros corazones tras sus dioses. A éstas pues se juntó Salomón con amor.
3Y tuvo setecientas mujeres reinas, y trescientas concubinas; y sus mujeres torcieron su corazón.
4Y ya que Salomón era viejo, sus mujeres inclinaron su corazón tras dioses ajenos; y su corazón no era perfecto con Jehová su Dios, como el corazón de su padre David.
5Porque Salomón siguió á Astaroth, diosa de los Sidonios, y á Milcom, abominación de los Ammonitas.
6E hizo Salomón lo malo en los ojos de Jehová, y no fué cumplidamente tras Jehová como David su padre.
7Entonces edificó Salomón un alto á Chêmos, abominación de Moab, en el monte que está enfrente de Jerusalem; y á Moloch, abominación de los hijos de Ammón.
8Y así hizo para todas sus mujeres extranjeras, las cuales quemaban perfumes, y sacrificaban á sus dioses.
9Y enojóse Jehová contra Salomón, por cuanto estaba su corazón desviado de Jehová Dios de Israel, que le había aparecido dos veces,
10Y le había mandado acerca de esto, que no siguiese dioses ajenos: mas él no guardó lo que le mandó Jehová.
11Y dijo Jehová á Salomón: Por cuanto ha habido esto en ti, y no has guardado mi pacto y mis estatutos que yo te mandé, romperé el reino de ti, y lo entregaré á tu siervo.
12Empero no lo haré en tus días, por amor de David tu padre: romperélo de la mano de tu hijo.
13Sin embargo no romperé todo el reino, sino que daré una tribu á tu hijo, por amor de David mi siervo, y por amor de Jerusalem que yo he elegido.
14Y Jehová suscitó un adversario á Salomón, á Adad, Idumeo, de la sangre real, el cual estaba en Edom.
15Porque cuando David estaba en Edom, y subió Joab el general del ejército á enterrar los muertos, y mató á todos los varones de Edom,
16(Porque seis meses habitó allí Joab, y todo Israel, hasta que hubo acabado á todo el sexo masculino en Edom;)
17Entonces huyó Adad, y con él algunos varones Idumeos de los siervos de su padre, y fuése á Egipto; era entonces Adad muchacho pequeño.
18Y levantáronse de Madián, y vinieron á Parán; y tomando consigo hombres de Parán, viniéronse á Egipto, á Faraón rey de Egipto, el cual le dió casa, y le señaló alimentos, y aun le dió tierra.
19Y halló Adad grande gracia delante de Faraón, el cual le dió por mujer á la hermana de su esposa, á la hermana de la reina Thaphnes.
20Y la hermana de Thaphnes le parió á su hijo Genubath, al cual destetó Thaphnes dentro de la casa de Faraón; y estaba Genubath en casa de Faraón entre los hijos de Faraón.
21Y oyendo Adad en Egipto que David había dormido con sus padres, y que era muerto Joab general del ejército, Adad dijo á Faraón: Déjame ir á mi tierra.
22Y respondióle Faraón: ¿Por qué? ¿qué te falta conmigo, que procuras irte á tu tierra? Y él respondió: Nada; con todo, ruégote que me dejes ir.
23Despertóle también Dios por adversario á Rezón, hijo de Eliada, el cual había huído de su amo Adad-ezer, rey de Soba.
24Y había juntado gente contra él, y habíase hecho capitán de una compañía, cuando David deshizo á los de Soba. Después se fueron á Damasco, y habitaron allí, é hiciéronle rey en Damasco.
25Y fué adversario á Israel todos los días de Salomón; y fué otro mal con el de Adad, porque aborreció á Israel, y reinó sobre la Siria.
26Asimismo Jeroboam hijo de Nabat, Ephrateo de Sereda, siervo de Salomón, (su madre se llamaba Serva, mujer viuda) alzó su mano contra el rey.
27Y la causa por qué éste alzó mano contra el rey, fué esta: Salomón edificando á Millo, cerró el portillo de la ciudad de David su padre.
28Y el varón Jeroboam era valiente y esforzado; y viendo Salomón al mancebo que era hombre activo, encomendóle todo el cargo de la casa de José.
29Aconteció pues en aquel tiempo, que saliendo Jeroboam de Jerusalem, topóle en el camino el profeta Ahías Silonita; y él estaba cubierto con una capa nueva; y estaban ellos dos solos en el campo.
30Y trabando Ahías de la capa nueva que tenía sobre sí, rompióla en doce pedazos,
31Y dijo á Jeroboam: Toma para ti los diez pedazos; porque así dijo Jehová Dios de Israel: He aquí que yo rompo el reino de la mano de Salomón, y á ti daré diez tribus;
32(Y él tendrá una tribu, por amor de David mi siervo, y por amor de Jerusalem, ciudad que yo he elegido de todas las tribus de Israel:)
33Por cuanto me han dejado, y han adorado á Astharoth diosa de los Sidonios, y á Chêmos dios de Moab, y á Moloch dios de los hijos de Ammón; y no han andado en mis caminos, para hacer lo recto delante de mis ojos, y mis estatutos, y mis derechos, como hizo David su padre.
34Empero no quitaré nada de su reino de sus manos, sino que lo retendré por caudillo todos los días de su vida, por amor de David mi siervo, al cual yo elegí, y él guardó mis mandamientos y mis estatutos:
35Mas yo quitaré el reino de la mano de su hijo, y darélo á ti, las diez tribus.
36Y á su hijo daré una tribu, para que mi siervo David tenga lámpara todos los días delante de mí en Jerusalem, ciudad que yo me elegí para poner en ella mi nombre.
37Yo pues te tomaré á ti, y tú reinarás en todas las cosas que deseare tu alma, y serás rey sobre Israel.
38Y será que, si prestares oído á todas las cosas que te mandare, y anduvieres en mis caminos, é hicieres lo recto delante de mis ojos, guardando mis estatutos y mis mandamientos, como hizo David mi siervo, yo seré contigo, y te edificaré casa firme, como la edifiqué á David, y yo te entregaré á Israel.
39Y yo afligiré la simiente de David á causa de esto, mas no para siempre.
40Procuró por tanto Salomón de matar á Jeroboam, pero levantándose Jeroboam, huyó á Egipto, á Sisac rey de Egipto, y estuvo en Egipto hasta la muerte de Salomón.
41Lo demás de los hechos de Salomón, y todas las cosas que hizo, y su sabiduría, ¿no están escritas en el libro de los hechos de Salomón?
42Y los días que Salomón reinó en Jerusalem sobre todo Israel, fueron cuarenta años.
43Y durmió Salomón con sus padres, y fué sepultado en la ciudad de su padre David: y reinó en su lugar Roboam su hijo.

1But king Solomon loved many strange women, together with the daughter of Pharaoh, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Zidonians, and Hittites;
2Of the nations concerning which the LORD said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall not go in to them, neither shall they come in unto you: for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods: Solomon clave unto these in love.
3And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines: and his wives turned away his heart.
4For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as was the heart of David his father.
5For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites.
6And Solomon did evil in the sight of the LORD, and went not fully after the LORD, as did David his father.
7Then did Solomon build an high place for Chemosh, the abomination of Moab, in the hill that is before Jerusalem, and for Molech, the abomination of the children of Ammon.
8And likewise did he for all his strange wives, which burnt incense and sacrificed unto their gods.
9And the LORD was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned from the LORD God of Israel, which had appeared unto him twice,
10And had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods: but he kept not that which the LORD commanded.
11Wherefore the LORD said unto Solomon, Forasmuch as this is done of thee, and thou hast not kept my covenant and my statutes, which I have commanded thee, I will surely rend the kingdom from thee, and will give it to thy servant.
12Notwithstanding in thy days I will not do it for David thy father’s sake: but I will rend it out of the hand of thy son.
13Howbeit I will not rend away all the kingdom; but will give one tribe to thy son for David my servant’s sake, and for Jerusalem’s sake which I have chosen.
14And the LORD stirred up an adversary unto Solomon, Hadad the Edomite: he was of the king’s seed in Edom.
15For it came to pass, when David was in Edom, and Joab the captain of the host was gone up to bury the slain, after he had smitten every male in Edom;
16(For six months did Joab remain there with all Israel, until he had cut off every male in Edom:)
17That Hadad fled, he and certain Edomites of his father’s servants with him, to go into Egypt; Hadad being yet a little child.
18And they arose out of Midian, and came to Paran: and they took men with them out of Paran, and they came to Egypt, unto Pharaoh king of Egypt; which gave him an house, and appointed him victuals, and gave him land.

22Then Pharaoh said unto him, But what hast thou lacked with me, that, behold, thou seekest to go to thine own country? And he answered, Nothing: howbeit let me go in any wise.
23And God stirred him up another adversary, Rezon the son of Eliadah, which fled from his lord Hadadezer king of Zobah:
24And he gathered men unto him, and became captain over a band, when David slew them of Zobah: and they went to Damascus, and dwelt therein, and reigned in Damascus.
25And he was an adversary to Israel all the days of Solomon, beside the mischief that Hadad did: and he abhorred Israel, and reigned over Syria.
26And Jeroboam the son of Nebat, an Ephrathite of Zereda, Solomon’s servant, whose mother’s name was Zeruah, a widow woman, even he lifted up his hand against the king.
27And this was the cause that he lifted up his hand against the king: Solomon built Millo, and repaired the breaches of the city of David his father.
28And the man Jeroboam was a mighty man of valour: and Solomon seeing the young man that he was industrious, he made him ruler over all the charge of the house of Joseph.
29And it came to pass at that time when Jeroboam went out of Jerusalem, that the prophet Ahijah the Shilonite found him in the way; and he had clad himself with a new garment; and they two were alone in the field:
30And Ahijah caught the new garment that was on him, and rent it in twelve pieces:
31And he said to Jeroboam, Take thee ten pieces: for thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, Behold, I will rend the kingdom out of the hand of Solomon, and will give ten tribes to thee:
32(But he shall have one tribe for my servant David’s sake, and for Jerusalem’s sake, the city which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel:)
33Because that they have forsaken me, and have worshipped Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, Chemosh the god of the Moabites, and Milcom the god of the children of Ammon, and have not walked in my ways, to do that which is right in mine eyes, and to keep my statutes and my judgments, as did David his father.
34Howbeit I will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand: but I will make him prince all the days of his life for David my servant’s sake, whom I chose, because he kept my commandments and my statutes:
35But I will take the kingdom out of his son’s hand, and will give it unto thee, even ten tribes.
36And unto his son will I give one tribe, that David my servant may have a light alway before me in Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen me to put my name there.
37And I will take thee, and thou shalt reign according to all that thy soul desireth, and shalt be king over Israel.
38And it shall be, if thou wilt hearken unto all that I command thee, and wilt walk in my ways, and do that is right in my sight, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as David my servant did; that I will be with thee, and build thee a sure house, as I built for David, and will give Israel unto thee.
39And I will for this afflict the seed of David, but not for ever.
40Solomon sought therefore to kill Jeroboam. And Jeroboam arose, and fled into Egypt, unto Shishak king of Egypt, and was in Egypt until the death of Solomon.
41And the rest of the acts of Solomon, and all that he did, and his wisdom, are they not written in the book of the acts of Solomon?
42And the time that Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel was forty years.
43And Solomon slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David his father: and Rehoboam his son reigned in his stead.

14The LORD raised up an adversary to Solomon: Hadad the Edomite. He was one of the king’s offspring in Edom.
15For when David was in Edom, and Joab the captain of the army had gone up to bury the slain, and had struck every male in Edom
16(for Joab and all Israel remained there six months, until he had cut off every male in Edom),
17Hadad fled, he and certain Edomites of his father’s servants with him, to go into Egypt, when Hadad was still a little child.

29At that time, when Jeroboam went out of Jerusalem, the prophet Ahijah the Shilonite found him on the way. Now Ahijah had clad himself with a new garment; and the two of them were alone in the field.
30Ahijah took the new garment that was on him, and tore it in twelve pieces.
31He said to Jeroboam, “Take ten pieces; for the LORD, the God of Israel, says, ‘Behold, I will tear the kingdom out of the hand of Solomon and will give ten tribes to you
32(but he shall have one tribe, for my servant David’s sake and for Jerusalem’s sake, the city which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel),
33because they have forsaken me, and have worshiped Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians, Chemosh the god of Moab, and Milcom the god of the children of Ammon. They have not walked in my ways, to do that which is right in my eyes, and to keep my statutes and my ordinances, as David his father did.
34“‘However, I will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand, but I will make him prince all the days of his life for David my servant’s sake whom I chose, who kept my commandments and my statutes,
35but I will take the kingdom out of his son’s hand and will give it to you, even ten tribes.
36I will give one tribe to his son, that David my servant may have a lamp always before me in Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen for myself to put my name there.
37I will take you, and you shall reign according to all that your soul desires, and shall be king over Israel.
38It shall be, if you will listen to all that I command you, and will walk in my ways, and do that which is right in my eyes, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as David my servant did, that I will be with you, and will build you a sure house, as I built for David, and will give Israel to you.
39I will afflict the offspring of David for this, but not forever.’”
40Therefore Solomon sought to kill Jeroboam, but Jeroboam arose and fled into Egypt, to Shishak king of Egypt, and was in Egypt until the death of Solomon.
41Now the rest of the acts of Solomon, and all that he did, and his wisdom, aren’t they written in the book of the acts of Solomon?
42The time that Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel was forty years.
43Solomon slept with his fathers, and was buried in his father David’s city; and Rehoboam his son reigned in his place.
