1También la reina de Saba, oída la fama de Salomón , vino en el nombre del Señor a hacer prueba de él con varias cuestiones oscuras.
2Y entretanto en Jerusalén con gran pompa de acompañamiento y de riquezas, con camellos cargados de aromas y de oro sin cuento, y de piedras preciosas, fue a ver al rey Salomón , y le propuso todas las cuestiones que traía meditadas en su corazón.
3Y satisfizo Salomón a todas sus preguntas; no hubo cosa que fuese oscura para el rey, y a la cual no le respondiese.
4Viendo, pues, la reina de Saba toda la sabiduría de Salomón y la casa o templo que había edificado,
5y la manera con que era servida su mesa, y las habitaciones de sus criados, y las varias clases de los ministros, y sus vestidos, y los coperos, y los holocaustos que ofrecía en el templo del Señor, se quedó atónita.
6Y dijo al rey: Verdadera es la fama de lo que oí en mi tierra
7sobre tus cosas, y sobre tu sabiduría; y no he dado crédito a los que me la contaban, hasta tanto que yo misma he venido y lo he visto por mis ojos, y he experimentado que no me habían dicho la mitad de lo que es en realidad. Tu sabiduría y tus hechos son mucho más grandes de lo que me habían contado.
8¡Dichosos los que están contigo!; ¡dichosos tus criados, los cuales gozan siempre de tu presencia, y escuchan tu sabiduría!
9Bendito sea el Señor Dios tuyo, que te ha amado y puesto sobre el trono de Israel, por el amor que siempre ha tenido a este pueblo, y te ha constituido rey para que ejerzas la equidad y la justicia.
10Dio después ella al rey ciento veinte talentos de oro, y grandísima cantidad de aromas y piedras preciosas; nunca jamás en adelante se trajo a Jerusalén tanta cantidad de aromas, como la que regaló la reina de Saba al rey Salomón .
11(Es de saber, que también la flota de Hiram, que conducía oro de Ofir, trajo asimismo de allí muchísima madera de tino y piedras preciosas;
12y el rey hizo de este tino los balaústres del templo del Señor y del palacio real, las cítaras y las liras para los cantores; nunca se volvió a traer ni se ha visto jamás semejante madera de tino hasta el día de hoy).
13El rey Salomón por su parte dio a la reina de Saba todo cuanto ella quiso y le pidió; sin contar los presentes que de su grado le hizo con regia magnificencia. Ella se volvió y partió para su tierra con sus criados.
14Era la cantidad de oro que cada año percibía Salomón de seiscientos sesenta y seis talentos de oro,
15sin contar lo que le traían los recaudadores de los tributos, y los negociantes, y todos los tenderos o especieros y todos los reyes de Arabia, y los gobernadores de los países de sus dominios.
16Hizo también el rey Salomón doscientos escudos o adargas de oro finísimo, empleando seiscientos siclos de oro en las planchas de cada uno de estos escudos.
17Además trescientas rodelas o escudos menores de oro de ley. Cubrían cada rodela trescientas minas de oro; y las colocó el rey en la casa del bosque del Líbano.
18Hizo asimismo el rey Salomón un trono grande de marfil, y lo guarneció de oro purísimo muy amarillo.
19Tenía el trono seis gradas, y lo alto del trono por el respaldo era redondo, y por uno y otro lado salían dos brazos o apoyos que sostenían el asiento, y junto a cada uno de estos brazos había dos leones.
20Sobre las seis gradas estaban de uno y otro lado doce leoncillos; en ningún otro reino del mundo se construyó jamás obra semejante.
21Fuera de esto, todos los vasos en que bebía el rey Salomón eran también de oro; e igualmente toda la vajilla de la casa o palacio del bosque del Líbano era de oro finísimo; no se usaba la plata para dichos vasos, ni casi se hacía aprecio de ella en tiempo del rey Salomón .
22Pues la flota del rey se hacía a la vela, e iba con la flota de Hiram una vez cada tres años a Tarsis a traer de allí oro y plata, y colmillos de elefantes, y monas, y pavos reales.
23Así el rey Salomón sobrepujó a todos los reyes de la tierra en riquezas y sabiduría;
24y todo el mundo deseaba ver el rostro de Salomón , para oír la sabiduría que había infundido Dios en su corazón;
25y todos le enviaban presentes cada año, vasos de plata y de oro, ropas, armas o arneses de guerra, y también aromas, caballos y mulos;
26y juntó Salomón muchos carros de guerra, y tropa de caballería; y tuvo a su disposición mil cuatrocientos carros, y doce mil hombres de caballería, que distribuyó por las ciudades fortificadas y en Jerusalén cerca de él.
27E hizo que fuese tan abundante en Jerusalén la plata como las piedras, y tan común el cedro como los cabrahigos que nacen en las campiñas.
28De Egipto y de Coa se hacía saca de caballos para Salomón ; pues los comisarios del rey los compraban en Coa, y los conducían al precio concertado.
29Un tiro de cuatro caballos sacado de Egipto costaba seiscientos siclos de plata, y cada caballo ciento cincuenta; y a este tenor le vendían los caballos todos los reyes de los heteos y de la Siria.

1Y OYENDO la reina de Seba la fama de Salomón en el nombre de Jehová, vino á probarle con preguntas.
2Y vino á Jerusalem con muy grande comitiva, con camellos cargados de especias, y oro en grande abundancia, y piedras preciosas: y como vino á Salomón, propúsole todo lo que en su corazón tenía.
3Y Salomón le declaró todas sus palabras: ninguna cosa se le escondió al rey, que no le declarase.
4Y cuando la reina de Seba vió toda la sabiduría de Salomón, y la casa que había edificado,
5Asimismo la comida de su mesa, el asiento de sus siervos, el estado y vestidos de los que le servían, sus maestresalas, y sus holocaustos que sacrificaba en la casa de Jehová, quedóse enajenada.
6Y dijo al rey: Verdad es lo que oí en mi tierra de tus cosas y de tu sabiduría;
7Mas yo no lo creía, hasta que he venido, y mis ojos han visto, que ni aun la mitad fué lo que se me dijo: es mayor tu sabiduría y bien que la fama que yo había oído.
8Bienaventurados tus varones, dichosos estos tus siervos, que están continuamente delante de ti, y oyen tu sabiduría.
9Jehová tu Dios sea bendito, que se agradó de ti para ponerte en el trono de Israel; porque Jehová ha amado siempre á Israel, y te ha puesto por rey, para que hagas derecho y justicia.
10Y dió ella al rey ciento y veinte talentos de oro, y muy mucha especiería, y piedras preciosas: nunca vino tan grande copia de especias, como la reina de Seba dió al rey Salomón.
11La flota de Hiram que había traído el oro de Ophir, traía también de Ophir muy mucha madera de brasil, y piedras preciosas.
12Y de la madera de brasil hizo el rey balaustres para la casa de Jehová, y para las casas reales, arpas también y salterios para los cantores: nunca vino tanta madera de brasil, ni se ha visto hasta hoy.
13Y el rey Salomón dió á la reina de Seba todo lo que quiso, y todo lo que pidió, además de lo que Salomón le dió como de mano del rey Salomón. Y ella se volvió, y se fué á su tierra con sus criados.
14El peso del oro que Salomón tenía de renta cada un año, era seiscientos sesenta y seis talentos de oro;
15Sin lo de los mercaderes, y de la contratación de especias, y de todos los reyes de Arabia, y de los principales de la tierra.
16Hizo también el rey Salomón doscientos paveses de oro extendido: seiscientos siclos de oro gastó en cada pavés.
17Asimismo trescientos escudos de oro extendido, en cada uno de los cuales gastó tres libras de oro: y púsolos el rey en la casa del bosque del Líbano.
18Hizo también el rey un gran trono de marfil, el cual cubrió de oro purísimo.
19Seis gradas tenía el trono, y lo alto de él era redondo por el respaldo: y de la una parte y de la otra tenía apoyos cerca del asiento, junto á los cuales estaban colocados dos leones.
20Estaban también doce leones puestos allí sobre las seis gradas, de la una parte y de la otra: en ningún otro reino se había hecho trono semejante.
21Y todos los vasos de beber del rey Salomón eran de oro, y asimismo toda la vajilla de la casa del bosque del Líbano era de oro fino: no había plata; en tiempo de Salomón no era de estima.
22Porque el rey tenía la flota que salía á la mar, á Tharsis, con la flota de Hiram: una vez en cada tres años venía la flota de Tharsis, y traía oro, plata, marfil, simios y pavos.
23Así excedía el rey Salomón á todos los reyes de la tierra en riquezas y en sabiduría.
24Toda la tierra procuraba ver la cara de Salomón, para oir su sabiduría, la cual Dios había puesto en su corazón.
25Y todos le llevaban cada año sus presentes: vasos de oro, vasos de plata, vestidos, armas, aromas, caballos y acémilas.
26Y juntó Salomón carros y gente de á caballo; y tenía mil cuatrocientos carros, y doce mil jinetes, los cuales puso en las ciudades de los carros, y con el rey en Jerusalem.
27Y puso el rey en Jerusalem plata como piedras, y cedros como los cabrahigos que están por los campos en abundancia.
28Y sacaban caballos y lienzos á Salomón de Egipto: porque la compañía de los mercaderes del rey compraban caballos y lienzos.
29Y venía y salía de Egipto, el carro por seiscientas piezas de plata, y el caballo por ciento y cincuenta; y así los sacaban por mano de ellos todos los reyes de los Hetheos, y de Siria.

1And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of the LORD, she came to prove him with hard questions.
2And she came to Jerusalem with a very great train, with camels that bare spices, and very much gold, and precious stones: and when she was come to Solomon, she communed with him of all that was in her heart.
3And Solomon told her all her questions: there was not any thing hid from the king, which he told her not.
4And when the queen of Sheba had seen all Solomon’s wisdom, and the house that he had built,
5And the meat of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the attendance of his ministers, and their apparel, and his cupbearers, and his ascent by which he went up unto the house of the LORD; there was no more spirit in her.
6And she said to the king, It was a true report that I heard in mine own land of thy acts and of thy wisdom.
7Howbeit I believed not the words, until I came, and mine eyes had seen it: and, behold, the half was not told me: thy wisdom and prosperity exceedeth the fame which I heard.
8Happy are thy men, happy are these thy servants, which stand continually before thee, and that hear thy wisdom.
9Blessed be the LORD thy God, which delighted in thee, to set thee on the throne of Israel: because the LORD loved Israel for ever, therefore made he thee king, to do judgment and justice.
10And she gave the king an hundred and twenty talents of gold, and of spices very great store, and precious stones: there came no more such abundance of spices as these which the queen of Sheba gave to king Solomon.
11And the navy also of Hiram, that brought gold from Ophir, brought in from Ophir great plenty of almug trees, and precious stones.
12And the king made of the almug trees pillars for the house of the LORD, and for the king’s house, harps also and psalteries for singers: there came no such almug trees, nor were seen unto this day.
13And king Solomon gave unto the queen of Sheba all her desire, whatsoever she asked, beside that which Solomon gave her of his royal bounty. So she turned and went to her own country, she and her servants.
14Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred threescore and six talents of gold,
15Beside that he had of the merchantmen, and of the traffick of the spice merchants, and of all the kings of Arabia, and of the governors of the country.
16And king Solomon made two hundred targets of beaten gold: six hundred shekels of gold went to one target.
17And he made three hundred shields of beaten gold; three pound of gold went to one shield: and the king put them in the house of the forest of Lebanon.
18Moreover the king made a great throne of ivory, and overlaid it with the best gold.
19The throne had six steps, and the top of the throne was round behind: and there were stays on either side on the place of the seat, and two lions stood beside the stays.
20And twelve lions stood there on the one side and on the other upon the six steps: there was not the like made in any kingdom.
21And all king Solomon’s drinking vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were of pure gold; none were of silver: it was nothing accounted of in the days of Solomon.
22For the king had at sea a navy of Tharshish with the navy of Hiram: once in three years came the navy of Tharshish, bringing gold, and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks.
23So king Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth for riches and for wisdom.
24And all the earth sought to Solomon, to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart.
25And they brought every man his present, vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and garments, and armour, and spices, horses, and mules, a rate year by year.
26And Solomon gathered together chariots and horsemen: and he had a thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, whom he bestowed in the cities for chariots, and with the king at Jerusalem.
27And the king made silver to be in Jerusalem as stones, and cedars made he to be as the sycomore trees that are in the vale, for abundance.
28And Solomon had horses brought out of Egypt, and linen yarn: the king’s merchants received the linen yarn at a price.
29And a chariot came up and went out of Egypt for six hundred shekels of silver, and an horse for an hundred and fifty: and so for all the kings of the Hittites, and for the kings of Syria, did they bring them out by their means.

1When the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the LORD’s name, she came to test him with hard questions.
2She came to Jerusalem with a very great caravan, with camels that bore spices, very much gold, and precious stones; and when she had come to Solomon, she talked with him about all that was in her heart.
3Solomon answered all her questions. There wasn’t anything hidden from the king which he didn’t tell her.
4When the queen of Sheba had seen all the wisdom of Solomon, the house that he had built,
5the food of his table, the sitting of his servants, the attendance of his officials, their clothing, his cup bearers, and his ascent by which he went up to the LORD’s house, there was no more spirit in her.
6She said to the king, “It was a true report that I heard in my own land of your acts and of your wisdom.
7However, I didn’t believe the words until I came and my eyes had seen it. Behold, not even half was told me! Your wisdom and prosperity exceed the fame which I heard.
8Happy are your men, happy are these your servants who stand continually before you, who hear your wisdom.
9Blessed is the LORD your God, who delighted in you, to set you on the throne of Israel. Because the LORD loved Israel forever, therefore he made you king, to do justice and righteousness.”
10She gave the king one hundred twenty talents of gold, and a very great quantity of spices, and precious stones. Never again was there such an abundance of spices as these which the queen of Sheba gave to King Solomon.
11The fleet of Hiram that brought gold from Ophir also brought in from Ophir great quantities of almug trees and precious stones.
12The king made of the almug trees pillars for the LORD’s house and for the king’s house, harps also and stringed instruments for the singers; no such almug trees came or were seen to this day.
13King Solomon gave to the queen of Sheba all her desire, whatever she asked, in addition to that which Solomon gave her of his royal bounty. So she turned and went to her own land, she and her servants.
14Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred sixty-six talents of gold,
15in addition to that which the traders brought, and the traffic of the merchants, and of all the kings of the mixed people, and of the governors of the country.
16King Solomon made two hundred bucklers of beaten gold; six hundred shekels of gold went to one buckler.
17He made three hundred shields of beaten gold; three minas of gold went to one shield; and the king put them in the House of the Forest of Lebanon.
18Moreover the king made a great throne of ivory, and overlaid it with the finest gold.
19There were six steps to the throne, and the top of the throne was round behind; and there were armrests on either side by the place of the seat, and two lions standing beside the armrests.
20Twelve lions stood there on the one side and on the other on the six steps. Nothing like it was made in any kingdom.
21All King Solomon’s drinking vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the House of the Forest of Lebanon were of pure gold. None were of silver, because it was considered of little value in the days of Solomon.
22For the king had a fleet of ships of Tarshish at sea with Hiram’s fleet. Once every three years the fleet of Tarshish came bringing gold, silver, ivory, apes, and peacocks.
23So King Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth in riches and in wisdom.
24All the earth sought the presence of Solomon to hear his wisdom which God had put in his heart.
25Year after year, every man brought his tribute, vessels of silver, vessels of gold, clothing, armor, spices, horses, and mules.
26Solomon gathered together chariots and horsemen. He had one thousand four hundred chariots and twelve thousand horsemen. He kept them in the chariot cities and with the king at Jerusalem.
27The king made silver as common as stones in Jerusalem, and cedars as common as the sycamore trees that are in the lowland.
28The horses which Solomon had were brought out of Egypt. The king’s merchants received them in droves, each drove at a price.
29A chariot was imported from Egypt for six hundred shekels of silver, and a horse for one hundred fifty shekels; and so they exported them to all the kings of the Hittites and to the kings of Syria.
