En esto ustedes conocerán el Espíritu de Dios: todo espíritu que reconoce que Jesucristo ha venido en la carne es de Dios,

y todo espíritu que no reconoce a Jesús no es de Dios. Este es el espíritu del anticristo, que ustedes han oído que viene, y ahora ya está en el mundo.
Y todo espíritu que no confiesa que Jesucristo es venido en carne, no es de Dios: y éste es el espíritu del anticristo, del cual vosotros habéis oído que ha de venir, y que ahora ya está en el mundo.
And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

Amados, vamos a amarnos unos a otros, porque el amor es de Dios, y todo el que ama es nacido de Dios y conoce a Dios.
Carísimos, amémonos unos á otros; porque el amor es de Dios. Cualquiera que ama, es nacido de Dios, y conoce á Dios.
Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

La persona que no ama no conoce a Dios, pues Dios es amor.
El que no ama, no conoce á Dios; porque Dios es amor.
He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

Debido a esto, el amor de Dios fue revelado entre nosotros, que Dios ha enviado a Su único Hijo al mundo para que pudiéramos vivir debido a Él.
En esto se mostró el amor de Dios para con nosotros, en que Dios envió á su Hijo unigénito al mundo, para que vivamos por él.
In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
By this God’s love was revealed in us, that God has sent his only born Son into the world that we might live through him.
En esto consiste el amor, no en que nosotros hayamos amado a Dios, sino en que Él nos amó a nosotros, y que envió a Su Hijo como propiciación por nuestros pecados.

Nunca nadie ha visto a Dios. Si nos amamos unos a otros, Dios permanece en nosotros y Su amor es perfeccionado en nosotros.
Ninguno vió jamás á Dios. Si nos amamos unos á otros, Dios está en nosotros, y su amor es perfecto en nosotros:
No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.
No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God remains in us, and his love has been perfected in us.
En esto sabemos que permanecemos en Él y Él en nosotros, porque nos ha dado de Su Espíritu.

Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.

Además, nosotros hemos visto y hemos dado testimonio de que el Padre ha enviado a Su Hijo para ser el Salvador del mundo.

También, hemos conocido y creído el amor que Dios nos tiene. Dios es amor, y el que permanece en este amor, permanece en Dios, y Dios permanece en él.
Y nosotros hemos conocido y creído el amor que Dios tiene para con nosotros. Dios es amor; y el que vive en amor, vive en Dios, y Dios en él.
And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

No hay temor en el amor. A lo contrario, el amor perfecto echa fuera el temor, porque el temor tiene que ver con el castigo. Pero el que teme no ha sido perfeccionado en el amor.

Si alguien dice: "Amo a Dios," pero odia a su hermano, es mentiroso. Porque el que no ama a su hermano, a quien ha visto, no puede amar a Dios, a Quien no ha visto.
Si alguno dice, Yo amo á Dios, y aborrece á su hermano, es mentiroso. Porque el que no ama á su hermano al cual ha visto, ¿cómo puede amar á Dios á quien no ha visto?
If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?
If a man says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who doesn’t love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?
También, este es el mandamiento que tenemos de Él: el que ama a Dios tiene también que amar a su hermano.
Y nosotros tenemos este mandamiento de él: Que el que ama á Dios, ame también á su hermano.
And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.
