Et nous-mêmes nous avons connu l'amour que Dieu a pour nous et nous y avons cru ; Dieu est amour, et celui qui demeure dans l'amour demeure en Dieu, et Dieu demeure en lui. Voici comment l'amour est accompli en nous, afin que nous ayons une ferme assurance lors du jour du jugement :

Y nosotros hemos conocido y creído el amor que Dios tiene para con nosotros. Dios es amor; y el que vive en amor, vive en Dios, y Dios en él.

And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

We know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and he who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in him.
