Miren qué clase de amor el Padre nos ha dado a nosotros, que nos llamemos hijos de Dios, y esto es lo que somos. Por esta razón, el mundo no nos conoce, porque a Él no lo conocieron.
MIRAD cuál amor nos ha dado el Padre, que seamos llamados hijos de Dios: por esto el mundo no nos conoce, porque no le conoce á él.
Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
See how great a love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God! For this cause the world doesn’t know us, because it didn’t know him.
Amados, ahora somos hijos de Dios, y aún no ha sido revelado lo que seremos. Sabemos que cuando Cristo aparezca, seremos como Él, porque Le veremos a Él tal como es.
Muy amados, ahora somos hijos de Dios, y aun no se ha manifestado lo que hemos de ser; pero sabemos que cuando él apareciere, seremos semejantes á él, porque le veremos como él es.
Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
Beloved, now we are children of God. It is not yet revealed what we will be; but we know that when he is revealed, we will be like him, for we will see him just as he is.
Todo el que tenga esta confianza en el futuro fijado en Él se purifica a sí mismo así como Él es puro.
Y cualquiera que tiene esta esperanza en él, se purifica, como él también es limpio.
And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
Everyone who has this hope set on him purifies himself, even as he is pure.
Todo el que comete pecado está haciendo lo que es ilícito; porque el pecado infringe la ley.
Cualquiera que hace pecado, traspasa también la ley; pues el pecado es transgresión de la ley.
Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
Everyone who sins also commits lawlessness. Sin is lawlessness.
Ustedes saben que Cristo fue revelado a fin de quitar los pecados, y en Él no hay pecado.
Y sabéis que él apareció para quitar nuestros pecados, y no hay pecado en él.
And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
You know that he was revealed to take away our sins, and no sin is in him.
Ninguno que permanece en Él continuará pecando. Nadie que continúa pecando Lo ha visto ni Le ha conocido.
Cualquiera que permanece en él, no peca; cualquiera que peca, no le ha visto, ni le ha conocido.
Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.
Whoever remains in him doesn’t sin. Whoever sins hasn’t seen him and doesn’t know him.
Amados hijos, no permitan que nadie los extravíe. El que hace justicia es justo, así como Cristo es justo.
Hijitos, no os engañe ninguno: el que hace justicia, es justo, como él también es justo.
Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
Little children, let no one lead you astray. He who does righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
El que comete pecado es del diablo, porque el diablo ha pecado desde el principio. Por esta razón el Hijo de Dios fue revelado, a fin de destruir las obras del diablo.
El que hace pecado, es del diablo; porque el diablo peca desde el principio. Para esto apareció el Hijo de Dios, para deshacer las obras del diablo.
He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. To this end the Son of God was revealed: that he might destroy the works of the devil.
Quien haya nacido de Dios no continúa pecando porque la semilla de Dios permanece en él. Él no puede continuar pecando porque ha nacido de Dios.
Cualquiera que es nacido de Dios, no hace pecado, porque su simiente está en él; y no puede pecar, porque es nacido de Dios.
Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

En esto los hijos de Dios y los hijos del diablo se dan a conocer. Quien no practique la justicia no es de Dios; tampoco lo es aquel que no ame a su hermano.
En esto son manifiestos los hijos de Dios, y los hijos del diablo: cualquiera que no hace justicia, y que no ama á su hermano, no es de Dios.
In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.
In this the children of God are revealed, and the children of the devil. Whoever doesn’t do righteousness is not of God, neither is he who doesn’t love his brother.
Porque este es el mensaje que ustedes oyeron desde el principio: que debemos amarnos los unos a los otros,

For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.

no como Caín que era del maligno y mató a su hermano. ¿Por qué lo mató? Porque sus obras eran malas, y las de su hermano eran justas.

No se asombren, mis hermanos, si el mundo los odia.
Hermanos míos, no os maravilléis si el mundo os aborrece.
Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.
Don’t be surprised, my brothers, if the world hates you.
Sabemos que hemos pasado de la muerte a la vida porque amamos a los hermanos. Cualquiera que no ama permanece en la muerte.
Nosotros sabemos que hemos pasado de muerte á vida, en que amamos á los hermanos. El que no ama á su hermano, está en muerte.
We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.
We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brothers. He who doesn’t love his brother remains in death.
Cualquiera que odia a su hermano es un asesino. Ustedes saben que ningún asesino tiene la vida eterna residiendo en él.
Cualquiera que aborrece á su hermano, es homicida; y sabéis que ningún homicida tiene vida eterna permaneciente en sí.
Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.
Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life remaining in him.
En esto conocemos el amor, porque Cristo dio Su vida por nosotros. Nosotros también debemos dar nuestra vida por los hermanos.
En esto hemos conocido el amor, porque él puso su vida por nosotros: también nosotros debemos poner nuestras vidas por los hermanos.
Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
By this we know love, because he laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.
Pero quien tenga los bienes del mundo, viendo a su hermano en necesidad y le cierra su corazón de compasión a él, ¿cómo permanece el amor de Dios en él?
Mas el que tuviere bienes de este mundo, y viere á su hermano tener necesidad, y le cerrare sus entrañas, ¿cómo está el amor de Dios en él?
But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?
But whoever has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, then closes his heart of compassion against him, how does God’s love remain in him?
Mis queridos hijos, no amemos de palabra ni de lengua, sino con hechos y verdad.

My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

Es por esto que sabemos que somos de la verdad, y aseguramos nuestros corazones ante Él.
Y en esto conocemos que somos de la verdad, y tenemos nuestros corazones certificados delante de él.
And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.

Porque si nuestros corazones nos condenan, Dios es más grande que nuestros corazones, y Él conoce todas las cosas.
Porque si nuestro corazón nos reprendiere, mayor es Dios que nuestro corazón, y conoce todas las cosas.
For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.

Amados, si nuestros corazones no nos condenan, tenemos confianza en Dios.
Carísimos, si nuestro corazón no nos reprende, confianza tenemos en Dios;
Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.
Beloved, if our hearts don’t condemn us, we have boldness toward God;
Todo lo que pedimos, lo recibiremos de Él, porque guardamos sus mandamientos y hacemos las cosas que son agradables ante Él.
Y cualquier cosa que pidiéremos, la recibiremos de él, porque guardamos sus mandamientos, y hacemos las cosas que son agradables delante de él.
And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
so whatever we ask, we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do the things that are pleasing in his sight.
Este es Su mandamiento: que debemos creer en el nombre de Su Hijo Jesucristo y amarnos los unos a los otros, así como Él nos dio este mandamiento.
Y éste es su mandamiento: Que creamos en el nombre de su Hijo Jesucristo, y nos amemos unos á otros como nos lo ha mandado.
And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.

El que guarda los mandamientos de Dios permanece en Él, y Dios permanece en él. En esto sabemos que Él permanece en nosotros, por el Espíritu que Él nos dio.
Y el que guarda sus mandamientos, está en él, y él en él. Y en esto sabemos que él permanece en nosotros, por el Espíritu que nos ha dado.
And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.
He who keeps his commandments remains in him, and he in him. By this we know that he remains in us, by the Spirit which he gave us.
