Osservate, qual carità ha dato il Padre a noi, che siamo chiamati, e siamo figliuoli di Dio. Per questo il mondo non conosce noi: perché non conosce lui.

MIRAD cuál amor nos ha dado el Padre, que seamos llamados hijos de Dios: por esto el mundo no nos conoce, porque no le conoce á él.

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.

See how great a love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God! For this cause the world doesn’t know us, because it didn’t know him.

Carissimi, noi siamo adesso figliuoli di Dio: ma non ancora si è manifestato quel, che saremo. Sappiamo, che quand'egli apparirà, sarem simili a lui: perché lo vedremo, qual, egli è.

Muy amados, ahora somos hijos de Dios, y aun no se ha manifestado lo que hemos de ser; pero sabemos que cuando él apareciere, seremos semejantes á él, porque le veremos como él es.

Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

Beloved, now we are children of God. It is not yet revealed what we will be; but we know that when he is revealed, we will be like him, for we will see him just as he is.

E Chiunque ha questa speranza, in lui, si santifica, come egli pure è santo.

Y cualquiera que tiene esta esperanza en él, se purifica, como él también es limpio.

And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

Everyone who has this hope set on him purifies himself, even as he is pure.

Chiunque fa peccato, commetter iniquità: e il peccato è iniquità.

Cualquiera que hace pecado, traspasa también la ley; pues el pecado es transgresión de la ley.

Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

Everyone who sins also commits lawlessness. Sin is lawlessness.

E sapete com'egli è apparito per togliere i nostri peccati: e in lui peccato non è.

Y sabéis que él apareció para quitar nuestros pecados, y no hay pecado en él.

And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.

You know that he was revealed to take away our sins, and no sin is in him.

Chiunque sta in lui, non pecca, e chiunque pecca, non lo ha veduto, e non lo ha conosciuto.

Cualquiera que permanece en él, no peca; cualquiera que peca, no le ha visto, ni le ha conocido.

Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.

Whoever remains in him doesn’t sin. Whoever sins hasn’t seen him and doesn’t know him.

Figliuolini, nissuno vi seduca. Chi pratica la giustizia, è giusto: come, anche quegli è giusto.

Hijitos, no os engañe ninguno: el que hace justicia, es justo, como él también es justo.

Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.

Little children, let no one lead you astray. He who does righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.

Chi fa peccato, egli è dal diavolo: dappoiché il diavolo dal bel principio pecca. A questo fine è apparito il Figliuolo di Dio, per distruggere le opere del diavolo.

El que hace pecado, es del diablo; porque el diablo peca desde el principio. Para esto apareció el Hijo de Dios, para deshacer las obras del diablo.

He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. To this end the Son of God was revealed: that he might destroy the works of the devil.

Chiunque è nato di Dio, non fa peccato: conciossiaché tiene in se la semenza di lui, e non può peccare, perché è nato di Dio.

Cualquiera que es nacido de Dios, no hace pecado, porque su simiente está en él; y no puede pecar, porque es nacido de Dios.

Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

Whoever is born of God doesn’t commit sin, because his seed remains in him, and he can’t sin, because he is born of God.

In questo si distinguono i figliuoli di Dio, e i figliuoli del diavolo. Chiunque non pratica la giustizia, non è da Dio, e chi non ama il suo fratello.

En esto son manifiestos los hijos de Dios, y los hijos del diablo: cualquiera que no hace justicia, y que no ama á su hermano, no es de Dios.

In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

In this the children of God are revealed, and the children of the devil. Whoever doesn’t do righteousness is not of God, neither is he who doesn’t love his brother.

Imperocché questo è l'annunzio, che udiste da principio, che vi amiate l'un l'altro.

Porque este es el mensaje que habéis oído desde el principio: Que nos amemos unos á otros.

For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.

For this is the message which you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another—

Non come Caino, che era dal maligno, e ammazzò il suo fratello. E perché lo ammazzo? Perché le opere di lui eran cattive: e quelle del suo fratello giuste.

No como Caín, que era del maligno, y mató á su hermano. ¿Y por qué causa le mató? Porque sus obras eran malas, y las de su hermano justas.

Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother’s righteous.

unlike Cain, who was of the evil one and killed his brother. Why did he kill him? Because his deeds were evil, and his brother’s righteous.

Non vi stupite, fratelli, se il mondo vi odia.

Hermanos míos, no os maravilléis si el mundo os aborrece.

Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.

Don’t be surprised, my brothers, if the world hates you.

Noi sappiamo, che siamo stati traportati dalla morte alla vita, perché amiamo i fratelli. Chi non ama, è nella morte:

Nosotros sabemos que hemos pasado de muerte á vida, en que amamos á los hermanos. El que no ama á su hermano, está en muerte.

We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.

We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brothers. He who doesn’t love his brother remains in death.

Chiunque odia il proprio fratello, è omicida. E voi sapete, che qualunque omicida non ha abitante in se stesso la vita eterna.

Cualquiera que aborrece á su hermano, es homicida; y sabéis que ningún homicida tiene vida eterna permaneciente en sí.

Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.

Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life remaining in him.

Da questo abbiam conosciuto la carità di Dio, perché egli ha posto la sua vita per noi: e noi pur dobbiamo porre la vita pe' fratelli.

En esto hemos conocido el amor, porque él puso su vida por nosotros: también nosotros debemos poner nuestras vidas por los hermanos.

Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

By this we know love, because he laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.

Chi avrà de' beni di questo mondo, e vedrà il suo fratello in necessità, e chiuderà le sue viscere alla compassione di lui: come mai è costui la carità di Dio?

Mas el que tuviere bienes de este mundo, y viere á su hermano tener necesidad, y le cerrare sus entrañas, ¿cómo está el amor de Dios en él?

But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?

But whoever has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, then closes his heart of compassion against him, how does God’s love remain in him?

Figliuolini miei, non amiamo in parole, e colla lingua, ma coll'opera, e la verità:

Hijitos míos, no amemos de palabra ni de lengua, sino de obra y en verdad.

My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

My little children, let’s not love in word only, or with the tongue only, but in deed and truth.

E da questo conosciamo di essere dalla verità: e rassicureremo i nostri cuori dinanzi a lui.

Y en esto conocemos que somos de la verdad, y tenemos nuestros corazones certificados delante de él.

And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.

And by this we know that we are of the truth and persuade our hearts before him,

Imperocché se il cuor nostro ci condanna: Iddio è maggiore del nostro cuore, e conosce tutte le cose.

Porque si nuestro corazón nos reprendiere, mayor es Dios que nuestro corazón, y conoce todas las cosas.

For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.

because if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things.

Carissimi, se il nostro cuore non ci condanna, abbiam fiducia dinanzi a Dio.

Carísimos, si nuestro corazón no nos reprende, confianza tenemos en Dios;

Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.

Beloved, if our hearts don’t condemn us, we have boldness toward God;

E qualunque cosa domanderemo, la riceveremo da lui: perché osserviamo i suoi comandamenti, e facciam quelle cose, che a lui piacciono.

Y cualquier cosa que pidiéremos, la recibiremos de él, porque guardamos sus mandamientos, y hacemos las cosas que son agradables delante de él.

And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.

so whatever we ask, we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do the things that are pleasing in his sight.

E questo è il suo comandamento: che crediamo nel nome del Figliuolo suo Gesù Cristo: e ci amiamo l'un l'altro, come egli ci comandò.

Y éste es su mandamiento: Que creamos en el nombre de su Hijo Jesucristo, y nos amemos unos á otros como nos lo ha mandado.

And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.

This is his commandment, that we should believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another, even as he commanded.

E chi osserva i suoi comandamenti sta in lui, ed egli in esso: e dallo Spirito, che egli a noi diede, sappiamo, che egli sta in noi. Quali spiriti sian da Dio, e quali no. Dio avendoci prevenuti con la sua dilezione, e avendo dato per noi il proprio suo Figliuolo, dobbiam noi pure amare Dio, ed il prossimo. La perfetta carità manda fuora il timore.

Y el que guarda sus mandamientos, está en él, y él en él. Y en esto sabemos que él permanece en nosotros, por el Espíritu que nos ha dado.

And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.

He who keeps his commandments remains in him, and he in him. By this we know that he remains in us, by the Spirit which he gave us.
