1Et le roi David dit à toute l'Assemblée : Mon fils Salomon, le seul que Dieu ait choisi, est enfant et dans l'âge tendre, et l'entreprise est grande, car il ne s'agit pas du palais d'un homme, mais de celui de l'Éternel Dieu.
2Usant de tous mes moyens j'ai amassé en vue du Temple de mon Dieu de l'or pour ce qui sera d'or, de l'argent pour ce qui sera d'argent, de l'airain pour ce qui sera d'airain, du fer pour ce qui sera de fer, et du bois pour ce qui sera de bois, des pierres d'onyx et des gemmes enchâssées, des pierres à coloris et jaspées et toutes sortes de pierres précieuses, et des quartiers de marbre en masse ;
3de plus, comme je prends mon plaisir à la Maison de mon Dieu, je veux dédier l'or et l'argent que je possède, à la Maison de mon Dieu en sus de tout ce que j'ai amassé en vue de l'édifice sacré :
4trois mille talents d'or, d'or d'Ophir, et sept mille talents d'argent purifié, pour en revêtir les parois des bâtiments,
5l'or pour ce qui sera d'or, et l'argent pour ce qui sera d'argent, et pour tous les ouvrages d'art. Et aujourd'hui qui veut venir spontanément, les mains pleines, à l'Éternel ?
6Et vinrent spontanément les chefs des maisons patriarcales et les chefs des Tribus d'Israël et les chefs des milliers et des centaines et les intendants du roi.
7Et ils donnèrent pour les ouvrages du Temple de Dieu, en or cinq mille talents et dix mille dariques, et en argent dix mille talents, et en airain dix-huit mille talents, et en fer cent mille talents.
8Et ceux chez qui se trouvaient des pierreries, les remirent pour le trésor du Temple de l'Éternel entre les mains de Jehiel, le Gersonite.
9Et le peuple se réjouit de leurs dons spontanés, parce qu'ils les offraient de plein cœur à l'Éternel, et le roi David aussi était pénétré d'une grande joie.
10Et David bénit l'Éternel à la vue de toute l'Assemblée, et David dit : Sois béni, Éternel, Dieu d'Israël, notre Père, de l'éternité à l'éternité.
11A toi Éternel, la majesté et la puissance et la magnificence et la perpétuité et la splendeur, oui, tout dans les cieux et sur la terre ; à toi, Éternel, est l'empire, et tu domines tout comme Souverain ;
12richesse et honneur émanent de toi, et tu règnes sur toutes choses, et ta main est force et vertu, et c'est dans ta main qu'est le pouvoir de tout agrandir et de tout consolider.
13Maintenant donc, ô notre Dieu, nous te rendons grâces et célébrons ton Nom magnifique.
14Car que suis-je et qu'est mon peuple pour être à même de faire de tels dons ? Car tout vient de toi, et c'est de ta main que sortent les dons que nous t'offrons.
15Devant toi nous sommes des hôtes et des passagers ainsi que tous nos pères ; car nos jours sont comme l'ombre sur la terre, et il n'y a point d'arrêt.
16Éternel, notre Dieu, tout cet appareil que nous avons préparé en vue de t'élever un temple pour ton saint Nom, vient de ta main, et tout est à toi.
17Et je sais, ô mon Dieu, que tu sondes le cœur et aimes la droiture. C'est dans la droiture de mon cœur que j'ai fait tous ces dons spontanés, et maintenant ton peuple ici présent, je l'ai vu avec joie t'offrir ses dons volontaires.
18Éternel, Dieu d'Abraham, d'Isaac et d'Israël, nos pères, conserve à jamais dans le cœur de ce peuple cette volonté et ces pensées et dirige leurs cœurs vers toi !
19Et à mon fils Salomon donne un cœur tout entier à l'observation de tes commandements et de tes ordonnances et de tes statuts et à la pratique de toutes choses et à l'édification du palais dont j'ai fait les apprêts.
20Et David dit à toute l'Assemblée : Allons ! bénissez l'Éternel, votre Dieu. Et toute l'Assemblée bénit l'Éternel, Dieu de leurs pères, et s'inclina et se prosterna devant l'Éternel et devant le roi.
21Et ils sacrifièrent à l'Éternel des victimes et offrirent des holocaustes à l'Éternel le lendemain de cette journée, mille taureaux, mille béliers, mille brebis avec leurs libations, et d'autres sacrifices en quantité pour tout Israël.
22Et ils mangèrent et burent devant l'Éternel en ce jour avec grande allégresse, et pour la seconde fois ils firent roi Salomon, fils de David, et l'oignirent comme Prince de l'Éternel, et Tsadoc comme Prêtre.
23Et Salomon s'assit sur le trône de l'Éternel comme roi, en la place de David, son père, et il fut heureux et tout Israël lui obéit.
24Et tous les chefs et les héros et aussi tous les fils du roi David se soumirent à Salomon roi.
25Et l'Éternel rendit Salomon éminemment grand aux yeux de tous les Israélites et lui donna une magnificence royale, comme ne l'avait eue aucun de ceux qui avaient régné avant lui sur Israël.
26Or David, fils d'Isaï, régna sur la totalité d'Israël.
27Et la durée de son règne sur Israël fut de quarante années ; à Hébron il régna sept ans et à Jérusalem il en régna trente-trois.
28Et il mourut dans une belle vieillesse, comblé d'années, de richesse et de gloire, et Salomon, son fils, fut roi en sa place.
29Les actes du roi David, les premiers et les derniers, sont d'ailleurs consignés dans les histoires de Samuel, le Voyant, et dans les histoires de Nathan, le prophète, et dans les histoires de Gad, le contemplateur,
30avec tout son règne et ses exploits et les époques qui passèrent sur lui et sur Israël et sur tous les royaumes du monde.

1DESPUÉS dijo el rey David á toda la asamblea: A solo Salomón mi hijo ha elegido Dios; él es joven y tierno, y la obra grande; porque la casa no es para hombre, sino para Jehová Dios.
2Yo empero con todas mis fuerzas he preparado para la casa de mi Dios, oro para las cosas de oro, y plata para las cosas de plata, y metal para las de metal, y hierro para las de hierro, y madera para las de madera, y piedras oniquinas, y piedras preciosas, y piedras negras, y piedras de diversos colores, y toda suerte de piedras preciosas, y piedras de mármol en abundancia.
3A más de esto, por cuanto tengo mi gusto en la casa de mi Dios, yo guardo en mi tesoro particular oro y plata que, además de todas las cosas que he aprestado para la casa del santuario, he dado para la casa de mi Dios;
4A saber, tres mil talentos de oro, de oro de Ophir, y siete mil talentos de plata afinada para cubrir las paredes de las casas:
5Oro pues para las cosas de oro, y plata para las cosas de plata, y para toda la obra de manos de los oficiales. ¿Y quién quiere hacer hoy ofrenda á Jehová?
6Entonces los príncipes de las familias, y los príncipes de las tribus de Israel, tribunos y centuriones, con los superintendentes de la hacienda del rey, ofrecieron de su voluntad;
7Y dieron para el servicio de la casa de Dios cinco mil talentos de oro y diez mil sueldos, y diez mil talentos de plata, y dieciocho mil talentos de metal, y cinco mil talentos de hierro.
8Y todo el que se halló con piedras preciosas, diólas para el tesoro de la casa de Jehová, en mano de Jehiel Gersonita.
9Y holgóse el pueblo de haber contribuído de su voluntad; porque con entero corazón ofrecieron á Jehová voluntariamente.
10Asimismo holgóse mucho el rey David, y bendijo á Jehová delante de toda la congregación; y dijo David: Bendito seas tú, oh Jehová, Dios de Israel nuestro padre, de uno á otro siglo.
11Tuya es, oh Jehová, la magnificencia, y el poder, y la gloria, la victoria, y el honor; porque todas las cosas que están en los cielos y en la tierra son tuyas. Tuyo, oh Jehová, es el reino, y la altura sobre todos los que están por cabeza.
12Las riquezas y la gloria están delante de ti, y tú señoreas á todos: y en tu mano está la potencia y la fortaleza, y en tu mano la grandeza y fuerza de todas las cosas.
13Ahora pues, Dios nuestro, nosotros te confesamos, y loamos tu glorioso nombre.
14Porque ¿quién soy yo, y quién es mi pueblo, para que pudiésemos ofrecer de nuestra voluntad cosas semejantes? porque todo es tuyo, y lo recibido de tu mano te damos.
15Porque nosotros, extranjeros y advenedizos somos delante de ti, como todos nuestros padres; y nuestros días cual sombra sobre la tierra, y no dan espera.
16Oh Jehová Dios nuestro, toda esta abundancia que hemos aprestado para edificar casa á tu santo nombre, de tu mano es, y todo es tuyo.
17Yo sé, Dios mío, que tú escudriñas los corazones, y que la rectitud te agrada: por eso yo con rectitud de mi corazón voluntariamente te he ofrecido todo esto, y ahora he visto con alegría que tu pueblo, que aquí se ha hallado ahora, ha dado para ti espontáneamente.
18Jehová, Dios de Abraham, de Isaac, y de Israel, nuestros padres, conserva perpetuamente esta voluntad del corazón de tu pueblo, y encamina su corazón á ti.
19Asimismo da á mi hijo Salomón corazón perfecto, para que guarde tus mandamientos, tus testimonios y tus estatutos, y para que haga todas las cosas, y te edifique la casa para la cual yo he hecho el apresto.
20Después dijo David á toda la congregación: Bendecid ahora á Jehová vuestro Dios. Entonces toda la congregación bendijo á Jehová Dios de sus padres, é inclinándose adoraron delante de Jehová, y del rey.
21Y sacrificaron víctimas á Jehová, y ofrecieron á Jehová holocaustos el día siguiente, mil becerros, mil carneros, mil corderos con sus libaciones, y muchos sacrificios por todo Israel.
22Y comieron y bebieron delante de Jehová aquel día con gran gozo; y dieron la segunda vez la investidura del reino á Salomón hijo de David, y ungiéronlo á Jehová por príncipe, y á Sadoc por sacerdote.
23Y sentóse Salomón por rey en el trono de Jehová en lugar de David su padre, y fué prosperado; y obedecióle todo Israel.
24Y todos los príncipes y poderosos, y todos los hijos del rey David, prestaron homenaje al rey Salomón.
25Y Jehová engrandeció en extremo á Salomón á los ojos de todo Israel, y dióle gloria del reino, cual ningún rey la tuvo antes de él en Israel.
26Así reinó David hijo de Isaí sobre todo Israel.
27Y el tiempo que reinó sobre Israel fué cuarenta años. Siete años reinó en Hebrón, y treinta y tres reinó en Jerusalem.
28Y murió en buena vejez, lleno de días, de riquezas, y de gloria: y reinó en su lugar Salomón su hijo.
29Y los hechos del rey David, primeros y postreros, están escritos en el libro de las crónicas de Samuel vidente, y en las crónicas del profeta Nathán, y en las crónicas de Gad vidente,
30Con todo lo relativo á su reinado, y su poder, y los tiempos que pasaron sobre él, y sobre Israel, y sobre todos los reinos de aquellas tierras.

1Furthermore David the king said unto all the congregation, Solomon my son, whom alone God hath chosen, is yet young and tender, and the work is great: for the palace is not for man, but for the LORD God.
2Now I have prepared with all my might for the house of my God the gold for things to be made of gold, and the silver for things of silver, and the brass for things of brass, the iron for things of iron, and wood for things of wood; onyx stones, and stones to be set, glistering stones, and of divers colours, and all manner of precious stones, and marble stones in abundance.
3Moreover, because I have set my affection to the house of my God, I have of mine own proper good, of gold and silver, which I have given to the house of my God, over and above all that I have prepared for the holy house,
4Even three thousand talents of gold, of the gold of Ophir, and seven thousand talents of refined silver, to overlay the walls of the houses withal:
5The gold for things of gold, and the silver for things of silver, and for all manner of work to be made by the hands of artificers. And who then is willing to consecrate his service this day unto the LORD?
6Then the chief of the fathers and princes of the tribes of Israel, and the captains of thousands and of hundreds, with the rulers of the king’s work, offered willingly,
7And gave for the service of the house of God of gold five thousand talents and ten thousand drams, and of silver ten thousand talents, and of brass eighteen thousand talents, and one hundred thousand talents of iron.
8And they with whom precious stones were found gave them to the treasure of the house of the LORD, by the hand of Jehiel the Gershonite.
9Then the people rejoiced, for that they offered willingly, because with perfect heart they offered willingly to the LORD: and David the king also rejoiced with great joy.
10Wherefore David blessed the LORD before all the congregation: and David said, Blessed be thou, LORD God of Israel our father, for ever and ever.
11Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all.
12Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all.
13Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name.
14But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? for all things come of thee, and of thine own have we given thee.
15For we are strangers before thee, and sojourners, as were all our fathers: our days on the earth are as a shadow, and there is none abiding.
16O LORD our God, all this store that we have prepared to build thee an house for thine holy name cometh of thine hand, and is all thine own.
17I know also, my God, that thou triest the heart, and hast pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of mine heart I have willingly offered all these things: and now have I seen with joy thy people, which are present here, to offer willingly unto thee.
18O LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, our fathers, keep this for ever in the imagination of the thoughts of the heart of thy people, and prepare their heart unto thee:
19And give unto Solomon my son a perfect heart, to keep thy commandments, thy testimonies, and thy statutes, and to do all these things, and to build the palace, for the which I have made provision.
20And David said to all the congregation, Now bless the LORD your God. And all the congregation blessed the LORD God of their fathers, and bowed down their heads, and worshipped the LORD, and the king.
21And they sacrificed sacrifices unto the LORD, and offered burnt offerings unto the LORD, on the morrow after that day, even a thousand bullocks, a thousand rams, and a thousand lambs, with their drink offerings, and sacrifices in abundance for all Israel:
22And did eat and drink before the LORD on that day with great gladness. And they made Solomon the son of David king the second time, and anointed him unto the LORD to be the chief governor, and Zadok to be priest.
23Then Solomon sat on the throne of the LORD as king instead of David his father, and prospered; and all Israel obeyed him.
24And all the princes, and the mighty men, and all the sons likewise of king David, submitted themselves unto Solomon the king.
25And the LORD magnified Solomon exceedingly in the sight of all Israel, and bestowed upon him such royal majesty as had not been on any king before him in Israel.
26Thus David the son of Jesse reigned over all Israel.
27And the time that he reigned over Israel was forty years; seven years reigned he in Hebron, and thirty and three years reigned he in Jerusalem.
28And he died in a good old age, full of days, riches, and honour: and Solomon his son reigned in his stead.
29Now the acts of David the king, first and last, behold, they are written in the book of Samuel the seer, and in the book of Nathan the prophet, and in the book of Gad the seer,
30With all his reign and his might, and the times that went over him, and over Israel, and over all the kingdoms of the countries.

1David the king said to all the assembly, “Solomon my son, whom alone God has chosen, is yet young and tender, and the work is great; for the palace is not for man, but for the LORD God.
2Now I have prepared with all my might for the house of my God the gold for the things of gold, the silver for the things of silver, the bronze for the things of bronze, iron for the things of iron, and wood for the things of wood, also onyx stones, stones to be set, stones for inlaid work of various colors, all kinds of precious stones, and marble stones in abundance.
3In addition, because I have set my affection on the house of my God, since I have a treasure of my own of gold and silver, I give it to the house of my God, over and above all that I have prepared for the holy house:
4even three thousand talents of gold, of the gold of Ophir, and seven thousand talents of refined silver, with which to overlay the walls of the houses;
5of gold for the things of gold, and of silver for the things of silver, and for all kinds of work to be made by the hands of artisans. Who then offers willingly to consecrate himself today to the LORD?”
6Then the princes of the fathers’ households, and the princes of the tribes of Israel, and the captains of thousands and of hundreds, with the rulers over the king’s work, offered willingly;
7and they gave for the service of God’s house of gold five thousand talents and ten thousand darics, of silver ten thousand talents, of bronze eighteen thousand talents, and of iron one hundred thousand talents.
8People with whom precious stones were found gave them to the treasure of the LORD’s house, under the hand of Jehiel the Gershonite.
9Then the people rejoiced, because they offered willingly, because with a perfect heart they offered willingly to the LORD; and David the king also rejoiced with great joy.
10Therefore David blessed the LORD before all the assembly; and David said, “You are blessed, LORD, the God of Israel our father, forever and ever.
11Yours, LORD, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty! For all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, LORD, and you are exalted as head above all.
12Both riches and honor come from you, and you rule over all! In your hand is power and might! It is in your hand to make great, and to give strength to all!
13Now therefore, our God, we thank you and praise your glorious name.
14But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly as this? For all things come from you, and we have given you of your own.
15For we are strangers before you and foreigners, as all our fathers were. Our days on the earth are as a shadow, and there is no remaining.
16LORD our God, all this store that we have prepared to build you a house for your holy name comes from your hand, and is all your own.

18LORD, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Israel, our fathers, keep this desire forever in the thoughts of the heart of your people, and prepare their heart for you;
19and give to Solomon my son a perfect heart, to keep your commandments, your testimonies, and your statutes, and to do all these things, and to build the palace, for which I have made provision.”
20Then David said to all the assembly, “Now bless the LORD your God!” All the assembly blessed the LORD, the God of their fathers, and bowed down their heads and prostrated themselves before the LORD and the king.
21They sacrificed sacrifices to the LORD and offered burnt offerings to the LORD on the next day after that day, even one thousand bulls, one thousand rams, and one thousand lambs, with their drink offerings and sacrifices in abundance for all Israel,
22and ate and drank before the LORD on that day with great gladness. They made Solomon the son of David king the second time, and anointed him before the LORD to be prince, and Zadok to be priest.
23Then Solomon sat on the throne of the LORD as king instead of David his father, and prospered; and all Israel obeyed him.
24All the princes, the mighty men, and also all of the sons of King David submitted themselves to Solomon the king.
25The LORD magnified Solomon exceedingly in the sight of all Israel, and gave to him such royal majesty as had not been on any king before him in Israel.
26Now David the son of Jesse reigned over all Israel.
27The time that he reigned over Israel was forty years; he reigned seven years in Hebron, and he reigned thirty-three years in Jerusalem.
28He died at a good old age, full of days, riches, and honor; and Solomon his son reigned in his place.
29Now the acts of David the king, first and last, behold, they are written in the history of Samuel the seer, and in the history of Nathan the prophet, and in the history of Gad the seer,
30with all his reign and his might, and the events that involved him, Israel, and all the kingdoms of the lands.
