1David berief zu einer Versammlung nach Jerusalem alle höchststehenden Männer der Israeliten, nämlich die Stammesfürsten, die Obersten der Abteilungen, die im Dienst des Königs standen, die Befehlshaber der Tausendschaften und der Hundertschaften, die Verwalter der liegenden und beweglichen Güter des Königs und seiner Söhne, samt den Kämmerern und den Rittern und allen übrigen hervorragenden Männern.
2Da erhob sich der König David (inmitten der Versammlung) von seinem Sitz und hielt folgende Ansprache: »Hört mich an, meine Brüder und mein Volk! Ich hatte selbst die Absicht, für die Lade mit dem Bundesgesetz des HERRN und für den Schemel der Füße unsers Gottes eine Unterkunftsstätte zu erbauen, und hatte schon Vorbereitungen für den Bau getroffen.
3Aber da sprach Gott zu mir: ›Du sollst meinem Namen kein Haus bauen; denn du bist ein Kriegsmann und hast Blut vergossen.‹
4Nun hat aber der HERR, der Gott Israels, mich aus dem ganzen Hause meines Vaters erwählt, daß ich König für immer über Israel sein soll; denn Juda hat er zum Fürsten ausersehen und im Stamme Juda das Haus meines Vaters; und unter den Söhnen meines Vaters bin ich es, an dem er Wohlgefallen gefunden, so daß er mich zum König über ganz Israel gemacht hat.
5Von meinen sämtlichen Söhnen aber – der HERR hat mir ja viele Söhne geschenkt – hat er meinen Sohn Salomo dazu ersehen, auf dem Königsthrone des HERRN über Israel zu sitzen.
6Dabei hat er zu mir gesagt: ›Dein Sohn Salomo, der soll mein Haus und meine Vorhöfe bauen; denn ihn habe ich mir zum Sohn erwählt, und ich will ihm ein Vater sein;
7und ich will sein Königtum für immer fest gründen, wenn er so, wie es heute der Fall ist, daran festhält, meine Gebote und Weisungen zu beobachten.‹
8Und nun – vor den Augen von ganz Israel, der Gemeinde des HERRN, und vor den Ohren unseres Gottes ermahne ich euch: Beobachtet gewissenhaft alle Gebote des HERRN, eures Gottes, damit ihr im Besitz dieses schönen Landes bleibt und es später euren Nachkommen als Erbe auf ewig hinterlaßt!«
9»Du aber, mein Sohn Salomo, erkenne den Gott deines Vaters und diene ihm mit ungeteiltem Herzen und mit willigem Geiste; denn der HERR erforscht alle Herzen und weiß um jeden geheimen Gedanken; wenn du ihn suchst, wird er sich von dir finden lassen, wenn du ihn aber verläßt, wird er dich für immer verwerfen.
10So sieh nun wohl zu! Denn der HERR hat dich dazu ersehen, ihm ein Haus zum Heiligtum zu erbauen: mache dich mutig ans Werk!«
11Hierauf übergab David seinem Sohne Salomo das Modell der Vorhalle und des Tempelhauses, der Schatzkammern, Obergemächer und inneren Räume sowie des Raumes für die Sühnung;
12dazu den Plan von allem, was seinem Geiste vorschwebte: hinsichtlich der Vorhöfe des Tempelhauses des HERRN und der ringsum laufenden Zellen sowie hinsichtlich der Vorratskammern des Gotteshauses und der Schatzkammern für die geweihten Gegenstände;
13ferner (die Verordnungen) in betreff der Abteilungen der Priester und der Leviten sowie in betreff der ganzen Gestaltung der Dienstleistungen im Tempel des HERRN und bezüglich aller für den Tempeldienst erforderlichen Gerätschaften;
14hinsichtlich des Goldes – nach dem Gewicht des Goldes für jedes einzelne gottesdienstliche Gerät; desgleichen hinsichtlich aller silbernen Geräte – nach dem Gewicht für jedes einzelne gottesdienstliche Gerät;
15ebenso auch das Gewicht für die goldenen Leuchter und die zugehörigen goldenen Lampen – nach dem Gewicht eines jeden einzelnen Leuchters und der zugehörigen Lampen; auch für die silbernen Leuchter – nach dem Gewicht für jeden einzelnen Leuchter und die zugehörigen Lampen, wie es die Bestimmung jedes einzelnen Leuchters erforderte;
16ferner das Gold nach dem Gewicht für die Schaubrottische, für jeden einzelnen Tisch, und das Silber für die silbernen Tische;
17und für die Gabeln, Sprengschalen und Kannen – gediegenes Gold; ferner für die goldenen Krüge – nach dem Gewicht für jeden einzelnen Krug sowie für die silbernen Krüge – nach dem Gewicht für jeden einzelnen Krug;
18ferner für den Räucheraltar – geläutertes Gold nach dem bestimmten Gewicht; auch das Modell des Wagens, nämlich der goldenen Cherube, die mit ausgebreiteten Flügeln die Bundeslade des HERRN überdecken sollten.
19»Über dies alles«, sagte David, »hat er mir Anweisung durch eine von der Hand des HERRN stammende Schrift gegeben, über alle zur Ausführung des Bauplanes erforderlichen Arbeiten.«
20Dann richtete David an seinen Sohn Salomo folgende Worte: »Sei stark und mutig und gehe ans Werk! Fürchte dich nicht und sei unverzagt! Denn Gott der HERR, mein Gott, wird mit dir sein: er wird dich nicht versäumen und dich nicht verlassen, bis alle Arbeiten für den Dienst am Hause des HERRN vollendet sind.
21Schon sind hier die Abteilungen der Priester und der Leviten für den gesamten Dienst am Hause Gottes bereit, und zur Verfügung stehen dir für die Ausführung des ganzen Werkes Männer, die zu allen Verrichtungen willig und geschickt sind, dazu auch die Fürsten und das ganze Volk für alle deine Anordnungen.«

1Y JUNTÓ David en Jerusalem á todos los principales de Israel, los príncipes de las tribus, y los jefes de las divisiones que servían al rey, los tribunos y centuriones, con los superintendentes de toda la hacienda y posesión del rey, y sus hijos, con los eunucos, los poderosos, y todos sus hombres valientes.
2Y levantándose el rey David, puesto en pie dijo: Oidme, hermanos míos, y pueblo mío. Yo tenía en propósito edificar una casa, para que en ella reposara el arca del pacto de Jehová, y para el estrado de los pies de nuestro Dios; y había ya aprestado todo para edificar.
3Mas Dios me dijo: Tú no edificarás casa á mi nombre: porque eres hombre de guerra, y has derramado mucha sangre.
4Empero Jehová el Dios de Israel me eligió de toda la casa de mi padre, para que perpetuamente fuese rey sobre Israel: porque á Judá escogió por caudillo, y de la casa de Judá la familia de mi padre; y de entre los hijos de mi padre agradóse de mí para ponerme por rey sobre todo Israel;
5Y de todos mis hijos (porque Jehová me ha dado muchos hijos,) eligió á mi hijo Salomón para que se siente en el trono del reino de Jehová sobre Israel.
6Y me ha dicho: Salomón tu hijo, él edificará mi casa y mis atrios: porque á éste me he escogido por hijo, y yo le seré á él por padre.
7Asimismo yo confirmaré su reino para siempre, si él se esforzare á poner por obra mis mandamientos y mis juicios, como aqueste día.
8Ahora pues, delante de lo ojos de todo Israel, congregación de Jehová, y en oídos de nuestro Dios, guardad é inquirid todos los preceptos de Jehová vuestro Dios, para que poseáis la buena tierra, y la dejéis por heredad á vuestros hijos después de vosotros perpetuamente.
9Y tú, Salomón, hijo mío, conoce al Dios de tu padre, y sírvele con corazón perfecto, y con ánimo voluntario; porque Jehová escudriña los corazones de todos, y entiende toda imaginación de los pensamientos. Si tú le buscares, lo hallarás; mas si lo dejares, él te desechará para siempre.
10Mira, pues, ahora que Jehová te ha elegido para que edifiques casa para santuario: esfuérzate, y hazla.
11Y David dió á Salomón su hijo la traza del pórtico, y de sus casas, y de sus oficinas, y de sus salas, y de sus recámaras, y de la casa del propiciatorio.
12Asimismo la traza de todas las cosas que tenía en su voluntad, para los atrios de la casa de Jehová, y para todas las cámaras en derredor, para los tesoros de la casa de Dios, y para los tesoros de las cosas santificadas:
13También para los órdenes de los sacerdotes y de los Levitas, y para toda la obra del ministerio de la casa de Jehová, y para todos los vasos del ministerio de la casa de Jehová.
14Y dió oro por peso para lo de oro, para todos los vasos de cada servicio: y plata por peso para todos los vasos, para todos los vasos de cada servicio.
15Oro por peso para los candeleros de oro, y para sus candilejas; por peso el oro para cada candelero y sus candilejas: y para los candeleros de plata, plata por peso para el candelero y sus candilejas, conforme al servicio de cada candelero.
16Asimismo dió oro por peso para las mesas de la proposición, para cada mesa: del mismo modo plata para las mesas de plata:
17También oro puro para los garfios y para las palanganas, y para los incensarios, y para los tazones de oro, para cada tazón por peso; y para los tazones de plata, por peso para cada tazón:
18Además, oro puro por peso para el altar del perfume, y para el á manera de carro de los querubines de oro, que con las alas extendidas cubrían el arca del pacto de Jehová.
19Todas estas cosas, dijo David, se me han representado por la mano de Jehová que me hizo entender todas las obras del diseño.
20Dijo más David á Salomón su hijo: Anímate y esfuérzate, y ponlo por obra; no temas, ni desmayes, porque el Dios Jehová, mi Dios, será contigo: él no te dejará, ni te desamparará, hasta que acabes toda la obra para el servicio de la casa de Jehová.
21He aquí los órdenes de los sacerdotes y de los Levitas, para todo el ministerio de la casa de Dios, serán contigo en toda la obra: asimismo todos los voluntarios é inteligentes para cualquiera especie de industria; y los príncipes, y todo el pueblo para ejecutar todas tus órdenes.

1And David assembled all the princes of Israel, the princes of the tribes, and the captains of the companies that ministered to the king by course, and the captains over the thousands, and captains over the hundreds, and the stewards over all the substance and possession of the king, and of his sons, with the officers, and with the mighty men, and with all the valiant men, unto Jerusalem.
2Then David the king stood up upon his feet, and said, Hear me, my brethren, and my people: As for me, I had in mine heart to build an house of rest for the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and for the footstool of our God, and had made ready for the building:
3But God said unto me, Thou shalt not build an house for my name, because thou hast been a man of war, and hast shed blood.
4Howbeit the LORD God of Israel chose me before all the house of my father to be king over Israel for ever: for he hath chosen Judah to be the ruler; and of the house of Judah, the house of my father; and among the sons of my father he liked me to make me king over all Israel:
5And of all my sons, (for the LORD hath given me many sons,) he hath chosen Solomon my son to sit upon the throne of the kingdom of the LORD over Israel.
6And he said unto me, Solomon thy son, he shall build my house and my courts: for I have chosen him to be my son, and I will be his father.
7Moreover I will establish his kingdom for ever, if he be constant to do my commandments and my judgments, as at this day.
8Now therefore in the sight of all Israel the congregation of the LORD, and in the audience of our God, keep and seek for all the commandments of the LORD your God: that ye may possess this good land, and leave it for an inheritance for your children after you for ever.
9And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.
10Take heed now; for the LORD hath chosen thee to build an house for the sanctuary: be strong, and do it.
11Then David gave to Solomon his son the pattern of the porch, and of the houses thereof, and of the treasuries thereof, and of the upper chambers thereof, and of the inner parlours thereof, and of the place of the mercy seat,
12And the pattern of all that he had by the spirit, of the courts of the house of the LORD, and of all the chambers round about, of the treasuries of the house of God, and of the treasuries of the dedicated things:
13Also for the courses of the priests and the Levites, and for all the work of the service of the house of the LORD, and for all the vessels of service in the house of the LORD.
14He gave of gold by weight for things of gold, for all instruments of all manner of service; silver also for all instruments of silver by weight, for all instruments of every kind of service:
15Even the weight for the candlesticks of gold, and for their lamps of gold, by weight for every candlestick, and for the lamps thereof: and for the candlesticks of silver by weight, both for the candlestick, and also for the lamps thereof, according to the use of every candlestick.
16And by weight he gave gold for the tables of shewbread, for every table; and likewise silver for the tables of silver:
17Also pure gold for the fleshhooks, and the bowls, and the cups: and for the golden basons he gave gold by weight for every bason; and likewise silver by weight for every bason of silver:
18And for the altar of incense refined gold by weight; and gold for the pattern of the chariot of the cherubims, that spread out their wings, and covered the ark of the covenant of the LORD.
19All this, said David, the LORD made me understand in writing by his hand upon me, even all the works of this pattern.
20And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do it: fear not, nor be dismayed: for the LORD God, even my God, will be with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee, until thou hast finished all the work for the service of the house of the LORD.
21And, behold, the courses of the priests and the Levites, even they shall be with thee for all the service of the house of God: and there shall be with thee for all manner of workmanship every willing skilful man, for any manner of service: also the princes and all the people will be wholly at thy commandment.

1David assembled all the princes of Israel, the princes of the tribes, the captains of the companies who served the king by division, the captains of thousands, the captains of hundreds, and the rulers over all the substance and possessions of the king and of his sons, with the officers and the mighty men, even all the mighty men of valor, to Jerusalem.
2Then David the king stood up on his feet and said, “Hear me, my brothers and my people! As for me, it was in my heart to build a house of rest for the ark of the LORD’s covenant, and for the footstool of our God; and I had prepared for the building.
3But God said to me, ‘You shall not build a house for my name, because you are a man of war and have shed blood.’
4However the LORD, the God of Israel, chose me out of all the house of my father to be king over Israel forever. For he has chosen Judah to be prince; and in the house of Judah, the house of my father; and among the sons of my father he took pleasure in me to make me king over all Israel.
5Of all my sons (for the LORD has given me many sons), he has chosen Solomon my son to sit on the throne of the LORD’s kingdom over Israel.
6He said to me, ‘Solomon, your son, shall build my house and my courts; for I have chosen him to be my son, and I will be his father.
7I will establish his kingdom forever if he continues to do my commandments and my ordinances, as it is today.’
8Now therefore, in the sight of all Israel, the LORD’s assembly, and in the audience of our God, observe and seek out all the commandments of the LORD your God, that you may possess this good land, and leave it for an inheritance to your children after you forever.
9You, Solomon my son, know the God of your father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind; for the LORD searches all hearts, and understands all the imaginations of the thoughts. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will cast you off forever.

11Then David gave to Solomon his son the plans for the porch of the temple, for its houses, for its treasuries, for its upper rooms, for its inner rooms, for the place of the mercy seat;
12and the plans of all that he had by the Spirit, for the courts of the LORD’s house, for all the surrounding rooms, for the treasuries of God’s house, and for the treasuries of the dedicated things;
13also for the divisions of the priests and the Levites, for all the work of the service of the LORD’s house, and for all the vessels of service in the LORD’s house—
14of gold by weight for the gold for all vessels of every kind of service, for all the vessels of silver by weight, for all vessels of every kind of service;
15by weight also for the lamp stands of gold, and for its lamps, of gold, by weight for every lamp stand and for its lamps; and for the lamp stands of silver, by weight for every lamp stand and for its lamps, according to the use of every lamp stand;
16and the gold by weight for the tables of show bread, for every table; and silver for the tables of silver;
17and the forks, the basins, and the cups, of pure gold; and for the golden bowls by weight for every bowl; and for the silver bowls by weight for every bowl;
18and for the altar of incense, refined gold by weight; and gold for the plans for the chariot, and the cherubim that spread out and cover the ark of the LORD’s covenant.
19“All this”, David said, “I have been made to understand in writing from the LORD’s hand, even all the works of this pattern.”
20David said to Solomon his son, “Be strong and courageous, and do it. Don’t be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD God, even my God, is with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you, until all the work for the service of the LORD’s house is finished.
21Behold, there are the divisions of the priests and the Levites for all the service of God’s house. Every willing man who has skill for any kind of service shall be with you in all kinds of work. Also the captains and all the people will be entirely at your command.”
