1El número de los hijos de Israel con arreglo a las cabezas de sus casas paternas, los jefes de miles y de cientos, y los magistrados que servían al rey en todo lo tocante a las formaciones militares, relevándose todos los meses del año, era de veinte y cuatro mil hombres para cada división.
2Al frente de la primera división, que era la del primer mes, estaba Jasobeam, hijo de Zabdiel; en su división había veinte y cuatro mil.
3Él era de los hijos de Fares, y mandaba a todos los jefes de los ejércitos del primer mes.
4Al frente de la división del segundo mes estaba Dodai ahohita, y su división, con la tropa que mandaba el príncipe Miclot, tenía veinte y cuatro mil.
5Jefe del tercer ejército, para el tercer mes, era el comandante Banaías, hijo del sacerdote Joiadá; en su división había veinte y cuatro mil.
6Este Banaías era héroe entre los treinta, y estaba al frente de los treinta; en su división estaba Amizabad, su hijo.
7El cuarto, para el cuarto mes, era Asael, hermano de Joab, y Zebadías, su hijo, después de él; su división comprendía veinte y cuatro mil.
8El quinto, para el mes quinto, era el jefe Samhut israíta, su división constaba de veinte y cuatro mil.
9El sexto, para el sexto mes, era Irá, hijo de Iqués tecoíta, en cuya división había veinte y cuatro mil.
10El séptimo, para el séptimo mes, era Heles pelonita, de los hijos de Efraím; su división era de veinte y cuatro mil.
11El octavo, para el mes octavo, era Sibecai husatita, de los Zarhitas; su división tenía veinte y cuatro mil.
12El noveno, para el mes noveno, era Abiéser anatotita, de los Benjaminitas; en su división había veinte y cuatro mil.
13El décimo, para el décimo mes, era Maharai netofatita, de los Zarhitas, en cuya división había veinte y cuatro mil.
14El undécimo, para el mes undécimo, era Banaías piratonita, de los hijos de Efraím; su división tenía veinte y cuatro mil.
15El duodécimo, para el mes duodécimo, era Heldai netofatita, del linaje de Otniel; su división comprendía veinte y cuatro mil.
16Al frente de las tribus de Israel estaban: al frente de los Rubenitas: Eliéser, hijo de Sicrí; de los Simeonitas: Sefatías, hijo de Maacá;
17de Leví: Hasabías, hijo de Kemuel; de la casa de Aarón: Sadoc;
18de Judá: Eliab, uno de los hermanos de David; de Isacar: Amrí, hijo de Micael;
19de Zabulón: Ismaías, hijo de Obadías; de Neftalí: Jerimot, hijo de Asriel;
20de los hijos de Efraím: Oseas, hijo de Azarías; de la media tribu de Manasés: Joel, hijo de Fedaías;
21de la otra tribu de Manasés en Galaad: Iddó, hijo de Zacarías; de Benjamín: Jaasiel, hijo de Abner;
22de Dan: Asarel, hijo de Jeroham. Estos eran los príncipes de las tribus de Israel.
23David no hizo el censo de los de veinte años para abajo, porque Yahvé había dicho que multiplicaría a Israel como las estrellas del cielo.
24Joab, hijo de Sarvia, había comenzado a hacer el censo, pero no lo finalizó, pues estalló con ese motivo la ira (de Yahvé) contra Israel, y el resultado no fue puesto en el registro de los anales del rey David.
25Asmávet, hijo de Abdiel, tenía a su cargo los tesoros del rey. Sobre lo que este poseía en el campo, en las ciudades, en las aldeas y en las torres, estaba Jonatán, hijo de Ucías;
26sobre los labradores del campo que cultivaban las tierras, Esrí, hijo de Kelub;
27sobre las viñas, Simeí de Ramá; sobre las provisiones de vino para las bodegas del vino, Sabdí de Safam;
28sobre los olivares y los sicomorales que había en la Sefelá, Baalhanán de Géder; sobre los depósitos de aceite, Joás;
29sobre las vacadas que pacían en Sarón, Sitrai saronita; sobre las vacadas en los valles. Safat, hijo de Adlai;
30sobre los camellos, Obil ismaelita; sobre las asnas, Jedías meronotita;
31sobre las ovejas, Jasís agareno. Todos estos eran administradores de la hacienda del rey David.
32Jonatán, tío de David, varón sensato y prudente, era consejero. Él y Jehiel, hijo de Hacmoní, estaban con los hijos del rey.
33Aquitófel era consejero del rey, y Cusai arquita amigo del rey.
34Luego de Aquitófel figuraban Joiadá, hijo de Banaías, y Abiatar. Joab era el generalísimo del ejército del rey.

5El jefe de la tercera división para el tercer mes era Benaías, hijo de Joiada sumo sacerdote; y en su división había veinte y cuatro mil.
6Este Benaías era valiente entre los treinta y sobre los treinta; y en su división estaba Amisabad su hijo.
7El cuarto jefe para el cuarto mes era Asael hermano de Joab, y después de él Zebadías su hijo; y en su división había veinte y cuatro mil.
8El quinto jefe para el quinto mes era Sambuth Izrita: y en su división había veinte y cuatro mil.
9El sexto para el sexto mes era Hira hijo de Icces, de Tecoa; y en su división veinte y cuatro mil.

25Y Azmaveth hijo de Adiel tenía cargo de los tesoros del rey; y de los tesoros de los campos, y de las ciudades, y de las aldeas y castillos, Jonathán hijo de Uzzías;
26Y de los que trabajaban en la labranza de las tierras, Ezri hijo de Chêlud;
27Y de las viñas Simi Ramathita; y del fruto de las viñas para las bodegas, Zabdías Siphmita;

1Now the children of Israel after their number, to wit, the chief fathers and captains of thousands and hundreds, and their officers that served the king in any matter of the courses, which came in and went out month by month throughout all the months of the year, of every course were twenty and four thousand.
2Over the first course for the first month was Jashobeam the son of Zabdiel: and in his course were twenty and four thousand.
3Of the children of Perez was the chief of all the captains of the host for the first month.
4And over the course of the second month was Dodai an Ahohite, and of his course was Mikloth also the ruler: in his course likewise were twenty and four thousand.
5The third captain of the host for the third month was Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, a chief priest: and in his course were twenty and four thousand.
6This is that Benaiah, who was mighty among the thirty, and above the thirty: and in his course was Ammizabad his son.
7The fourth captain for the fourth month was Asahel the brother of Joab, and Zebadiah his son after him: and in his course were twenty and four thousand.

18Of Judah, Elihu, one of the brethren of David: of Issachar, Omri the son of Michael:

23But David took not the number of them from twenty years old and under: because the LORD had said he would increase Israel like to the stars of the heavens.
24Joab the son of Zeruiah began to number, but he finished not, because there fell wrath for it against Israel; neither was the number put in the account of the chronicles of king David.
25And over the king’s treasures was Azmaveth the son of Adiel: and over the storehouses in the fields, in the cities, and in the villages, and in the castles, was Jehonathan the son of Uzziah:
26And over them that did the work of the field for tillage of the ground was Ezri the son of Chelub:
27And over the vineyards was Shimei the Ramathite: over the increase of the vineyards for the wine cellars was Zabdi the Shiphmite:
28And over the olive trees and the sycomore trees that were in the low plains was Baal-hanan the Gederite: and over the cellars of oil was Joash:
29And over the herds that fed in Sharon was Shitrai the Sharonite: and over the herds that were in the valleys was Shaphat the son of Adlai:
30Over the camels also was Obil the Ishmaelite: and over the asses was Jehdeiah the Meronothite:
31And over the flocks was Jaziz the Hagerite. All these were the rulers of the substance which was king David’s.
32Also Jonathan David’s uncle was a counsellor, a wise man, and a scribe: and Jehiel the son of Hachmoni was with the king’s sons:
33And Ahithophel was the king’s counsellor: and Hushai the Archite was the king’s companion:
34And after Ahithophel was Jehoiada the son of Benaiah, and Abiathar: and the general of the king’s army was Joab.

24Joab the son of Zeruiah began to take a census, but didn’t finish; and wrath came on Israel for this. The number wasn’t put into the account in the chronicles of King David.
25Over the king’s treasures was Azmaveth the son of Adiel. Over the treasures in the fields, in the cities, in the villages, and in the towers was Jonathan the son of Uzziah;
26Over those who did the work of the field for tillage of the ground was Ezri the son of Chelub.
27Over the vineyards was Shimei the Ramathite. Over the increase of the vineyards for the wine cellars was Zabdi the Shiphmite.
28Over the olive trees and the sycamore trees that were in the lowland was Baal Hanan the Gederite. Over the cellars of oil was Joash.
29Over the herds that fed in Sharon was Shitrai the Sharonite. Over the herds that were in the valleys was Shaphat the son of Adlai.
30Over the camels was Obil the Ishmaelite. Over the donkeys was Jehdeiah the Meronothite. Over the flocks was Jaziz the Hagrite.
31All these were the rulers of the property which was King David’s.
32Also Jonathan, David’s uncle, was a counselor, a man of understanding, and a scribe. Jehiel the son of Hachmoni was with the king’s sons.
33Ahithophel was the king’s counselor. Hushai the Archite was the king’s friend.
34After Ahithophel was Jehoiada the son of Benaiah, and Abiathar. Joab was the captain of the king’s army.
