1O exército israelita estava dividido em doze regimentos, cada regimento com vinte e quatro mil soldados, incluindo comandantes de mil e de cem que serviam o rei e o pessoal da administração. Esses regimentos eram chamados para o serviço durante um mês em cada ano. Aqui está uma lista desses regimentos e dos nomes dos comandantes:
2O comandante da primeira divisão era Jasobeão, filho de Zabdiel. Ele tinha a responsabilidade por 24.000 soldados que estavam de serviço no primeiro mês de cada ano.
3Ele era descendente de Perez e chefe de todos os oficiais do exército para o primeiro mês.
4O comandante da segunda divisão era Dodai, filho de Aoí. Ele era responsável por 24.000 soldados que estavam de serviço no segundo mês de cada ano. Miclote era oficial imediato de Dodai.
5O comandante da terceira divisão era Benaia, filho do sacerdote Joiada. Ele era chefe da sua divisão de 24.000 homens que estavam de serviço no terceiro mês de cada ano.
6Ele era guerreiro, chefe do batalhão dos Trinta. Amizabade, filho de Benaia, ficou no lugar do pai como comandante da sua divisão.
7O comandante da quarta divisão era Asael, irmão de Joabe, que mais tarde foi substituído por seu filho Zebadias. Ele tinha 24.000 homens de serviço no quarto mês de cada ano.
8O comandante da quinta divisão era Samute, de Izrá, com 24.000 homens de serviço no quinto mês de cada ano.
9O comandante da sexta divisão era Ira, filho de Iques, de Tecoa; ele tinha 24.000 homens de serviço no sexto mês de cada ano.
10O comandante da sétima divisão era Helez, de Pelona, descendente de Efraim, com 24.000 homens de serviço no sétimo mês de cada ano.
11O comandante da oitava divisão era Sibecai, de Husate, da família de Zerá; ele tinha 24.000 homens de serviço no oitavo mês de cada ano.
12O comandante da nona divisão era Abiezer, de Anatote, da tribo de Benjamim; ele comandava 24.000 homens de serviço durante o nono mês de cada ano.
13O comandante da décima divisão era Maarai, de Netofa, da família de Zerá, com 24.000 homens de serviço no décimo mês de cada ano.
14O comandante da décima primeira divisão era Benaia, de Piratom, descendente de Efraim, com 24.000 homens de serviço durante o décimo primeiro mês de cada ano.
15O comandante da décima segunda divisão era Heldai, de Netofate, da família de Otoniel; ele tinha 24.000 homens de serviço durante o décimo segundo mês de cada ano.
16Os líderes mais importantes das tribos de Israel eram estes: de Rúben: Eliezer, filho de Zicri; de Simeão: Sefatias, filho de Maaca;
17de Levi: Hasabias, filho de Quemuel; de Arão: Zadoque;
18de Judá: Eliú, irmão do rei Davi; de Issacar: Onri, filho de Micael;
19de Zebulom: Ismaías, filho de Obadias; de Naftali: Jerimote, filho de Azriel;
20dos descendentes de Efraim: Oseias, filho de Azazias; da meia tribo de Manassés: Joel, filho de Pedaías;
21da outra metade de Manassés, em Gileade: Ido, filho de Zacarias; de Benjamim: Jaasiel, filho de Abner;
22de Dã, Azareel, filho de Jeroão.
23Quando Davi fez a contagem do povo, não contou os que tinham menos de vinte anos de idade, porque o Senhor havia prometido que a população de Israel seria muito numerosa, como as estrelas do céu.
24Joabe, filho de Zeruia, começou a contar o povo, mas nunca terminou de contar, porque a ira de Deus caiu sobre Israel por causa desse recenseamento. O resultado final nunca foi registrado na história do rei Davi.
25Azmavete, filho de Adiel, era o encarregado dos tesouros do palácio real. Jônatas, filho de Uzias, era o encarregado dos depósitos do rei nos campos em todas as cidades, nas vilas e nas fortalezas.
26Ezri, filho de Quelube, era o encarregado do rei, dos trabalhadores do campo e da lavoura do rei.
27Simei, de Ramate, era o encarregado pelas plantações de uvas do rei. Zabdi, de Sifma, era o encarregado pela fabricação do vinho e armazenamento em tonéis.
28Baal-Hanã, de Gederá, era o encarregado pelas plantações de oliveiras e pelas figueiras bravas que havia nas terras baixas do rei, vizinhas das terras dos filisteus. Porém, Joás era o encarregado pelos depósitos de azeite.
29Sitrai, de Sarom, era o encarregado pelos rebanhos que pastavam nos campos de Sarom. Safate, filho de Adlai, era o encarregado de cuidar dos rebanhos que pastavam nos vales.
30Obil, do território de Ismael, era o encarregado dos camelos. Jedias, de Meronote, era o encarregado dos jumentos.
31Jaziz, o hagareno, era o encarregado de cuidar das ovelhas. Todos esses homens eram encarregados de cuidar dos bens do rei Davi.
32Jônatas, tio de Davi, era seu conselheiro; ele era um homem prudente e educado. Jeiel, filho de Hacmoni, era quem ensinava os filhos do rei.
33Aitofel era conselheiro oficial do rei; Husai, o arquita, era amigo e conselheiro pessoal do rei.
34Joiada, filho de Benaia, e Abiatar eram ajudantes de Aitofel. Joabe era o comandante do exército israelita.

1Y LOS hijos de Israel según su número, á saber, príncipes de familias, tribunos, centuriones y oficiales de los que servían al rey en todos los negocios de las divisiones que entraban y salían cada mes en todos los meses del año, eran en cada división veinte y cuatro mil.
2Sobre la primera división del primer mes estaba Jasobam hijo de Zabdiel; y había en su división veinte y cuatro mil.
3De los hijos de Phares fué él jefe de todos los capitanes de las compañías del primer mes.
4Sobre la división del segundo mes estaba Dodai Ahohita: y Micloth era mayor general en su división, en la que también había veinte y cuatro mil.
5El jefe de la tercera división para el tercer mes era Benaías, hijo de Joiada sumo sacerdote; y en su división había veinte y cuatro mil.
6Este Benaías era valiente entre los treinta y sobre los treinta; y en su división estaba Amisabad su hijo.
7El cuarto jefe para el cuarto mes era Asael hermano de Joab, y después de él Zebadías su hijo; y en su división había veinte y cuatro mil.
8El quinto jefe para el quinto mes era Sambuth Izrita: y en su división había veinte y cuatro mil.
9El sexto para el sexto mes era Hira hijo de Icces, de Tecoa; y en su división veinte y cuatro mil.
10El séptimo para el séptimo mes era Helles Pelonita, de los hijos de Ephraim; y en su división veinte y cuatro mil.
11El octavo para el octavo mes era Sibbecai Husatita, de Zarahi; y en su división veinte y cuatro mil.
12El noveno para el noveno mes era Abiezer Anathothita, de los Benjamitas; y en su división veinte y cuatro mil.
13El décimo para el décimo mes era Maharai Nethophathita, de Zarahi; y en su división veinte y cuatro mil.
14El undécimo para el undécimo mes era Benaías Piratonita, de los hijos de Ephraim; y en su división veinte y cuatro mil.
15El duodécimo para el duodécimo mes era Heldai Nethophathita, de Othniel; y en su división veinte y cuatro mil.
16Asimismo sobre las tribus de Israel: el jefe de los Rubenitas era Eliezer hijo de Zichri; de los Simeonitas, Sephatías, hijo de Maachâ:
17De los Levitas, Hasabías hijo de Camuel; de los Aaronitas, Sadoc;
18De Judá, Eliú, uno de los hermanos de David; de los de Issachâr, Omri hijo de Michâel;
19De los de Zabulón, Ismaías hijo de Abdías; de los de Nephtalí, Jerimoth hijo de Azriel;
20De los hijos de Ephraim, Oseas hijo de Azazía; de la media tribu de Manasés, Joel hijo de Pedaía;

23Y no tomó David el número de los que eran de veinte años abajo, por cuanto Jehová había dicho que él había de multiplicar á Israel como las estrellas del cielo.
24Joab hijo de Sarvia había comenzado á contar, mas no acabó, pues por esto vino la ira sobre Israel: y así el número no fué puesto en el registro de las crónicas del rey David.
25Y Azmaveth hijo de Adiel tenía cargo de los tesoros del rey; y de los tesoros de los campos, y de las ciudades, y de las aldeas y castillos, Jonathán hijo de Uzzías;
26Y de los que trabajaban en la labranza de las tierras, Ezri hijo de Chêlud;
27Y de las viñas Simi Ramathita; y del fruto de las viñas para las bodegas, Zabdías Siphmita;
28Y de los olivares é higuerales que había en las campiñas, Baal-hanan Gederita; y de los almacenes del aceite, Joas;
29De las vacas que pastaban en Sarón, Sitrai Saronita; y de las vacas que estaban en los valles, Saphat hijo de Adlai;
30Y de los camellos, Obil Ismaelita; y de las asnas, Jedías Meronothita;
31Y de las ovejas, Jaziz Agareno. Todos estos eran superintendentes de la hacienda del rey David.
32Y Jonathán, tío de David, era consejero, varón prudente y escriba; y Jehiel hijo de Hacmoni estaba con los hijos del rey.
33Y también Achitophel era consejero del rey; y Husai Arachîta amigo del rey.
34Después de Achitophel era Joiada hijo de Benaías, y Abiathar. Y Joab era el general del ejército del rey.

1Now the children of Israel after their number, to wit, the chief fathers and captains of thousands and hundreds, and their officers that served the king in any matter of the courses, which came in and went out month by month throughout all the months of the year, of every course were twenty and four thousand.
2Over the first course for the first month was Jashobeam the son of Zabdiel: and in his course were twenty and four thousand.
3Of the children of Perez was the chief of all the captains of the host for the first month.
4And over the course of the second month was Dodai an Ahohite, and of his course was Mikloth also the ruler: in his course likewise were twenty and four thousand.
5The third captain of the host for the third month was Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, a chief priest: and in his course were twenty and four thousand.
6This is that Benaiah, who was mighty among the thirty, and above the thirty: and in his course was Ammizabad his son.
7The fourth captain for the fourth month was Asahel the brother of Joab, and Zebadiah his son after him: and in his course were twenty and four thousand.
8The fifth captain for the fifth month was Shamhuth the Izrahite: and in his course were twenty and four thousand.
9The sixth captain for the sixth month was Ira the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite: and in his course were twenty and four thousand.
10The seventh captain for the seventh month was Helez the Pelonite, of the children of Ephraim: and in his course were twenty and four thousand.

16Furthermore over the tribes of Israel: the ruler of the Reubenites was Eliezer the son of Zichri: of the Simeonites, Shephatiah the son of Maachah:
17Of the Levites, Hashabiah the son of Kemuel: of the Aaronites, Zadok:
18Of Judah, Elihu, one of the brethren of David: of Issachar, Omri the son of Michael:
19Of Zebulun, Ishmaiah the son of Obadiah: of Naphtali, Jerimoth the son of Azriel:
20Of the children of Ephraim, Hoshea the son of Azaziah: of the half tribe of Manasseh, Joel the son of Pedaiah:

22Of Dan, Azareel the son of Jeroham. These were the princes of the tribes of Israel.
23But David took not the number of them from twenty years old and under: because the LORD had said he would increase Israel like to the stars of the heavens.
24Joab the son of Zeruiah began to number, but he finished not, because there fell wrath for it against Israel; neither was the number put in the account of the chronicles of king David.
25And over the king’s treasures was Azmaveth the son of Adiel: and over the storehouses in the fields, in the cities, and in the villages, and in the castles, was Jehonathan the son of Uzziah:
26And over them that did the work of the field for tillage of the ground was Ezri the son of Chelub:
27And over the vineyards was Shimei the Ramathite: over the increase of the vineyards for the wine cellars was Zabdi the Shiphmite:
28And over the olive trees and the sycomore trees that were in the low plains was Baal-hanan the Gederite: and over the cellars of oil was Joash:
29And over the herds that fed in Sharon was Shitrai the Sharonite: and over the herds that were in the valleys was Shaphat the son of Adlai:
30Over the camels also was Obil the Ishmaelite: and over the asses was Jehdeiah the Meronothite:
31And over the flocks was Jaziz the Hagerite. All these were the rulers of the substance which was king David’s.
32Also Jonathan David’s uncle was a counsellor, a wise man, and a scribe: and Jehiel the son of Hachmoni was with the king’s sons:
33And Ahithophel was the king’s counsellor: and Hushai the Archite was the king’s companion:
34And after Ahithophel was Jehoiada the son of Benaiah, and Abiathar: and the general of the king’s army was Joab.

1Now the children of Israel after their number, the heads of fathers’ households and the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and their officers who served the king in any matter of the divisions which came in and went out month by month throughout all the months of the year—of every division were twenty-four thousand.

25Over the king’s treasures was Azmaveth the son of Adiel. Over the treasures in the fields, in the cities, in the villages, and in the towers was Jonathan the son of Uzziah;
26Over those who did the work of the field for tillage of the ground was Ezri the son of Chelub.
27Over the vineyards was Shimei the Ramathite. Over the increase of the vineyards for the wine cellars was Zabdi the Shiphmite.
28Over the olive trees and the sycamore trees that were in the lowland was Baal Hanan the Gederite. Over the cellars of oil was Joash.
29Over the herds that fed in Sharon was Shitrai the Sharonite. Over the herds that were in the valleys was Shaphat the son of Adlai.
30Over the camels was Obil the Ishmaelite. Over the donkeys was Jehdeiah the Meronothite. Over the flocks was Jaziz the Hagrite.
31All these were the rulers of the property which was King David’s.
32Also Jonathan, David’s uncle, was a counselor, a man of understanding, and a scribe. Jehiel the son of Hachmoni was with the king’s sons.
33Ahithophel was the king’s counselor. Hushai the Archite was the king’s friend.
34After Ahithophel was Jehoiada the son of Benaiah, and Abiathar. Joab was the captain of the king’s army.
