4Havia mais homens influentes entre os descendentes de Eleazar do que entre os descendentes de Itamar, então, eles dividiram os descendentes de Eleazar em dezesseis grupos. Eles fizeram isso pelos cabeças dos clãs e pelos descendentes de Itamar. Estas divisões eram oito em número, correspondendo aos seus clãs.
