E dopo il giro d'un anno, in quella stagione, nella quale sogliono i re andare alla guerra, Gioab raunò l'esercito, e il nerbo de' soldati, e diede il guasto alle terre de' figliuoli di Ammon; e andò innanzi, e assediò Rabba: or Davidde restò in Gerusalemme, quando Gioab espugnò Rabba, e la distrusse.

Y ACONTECIÓ á la vuelta del año, en el tiempo que suelen los reyes salir á la guerra, que Joab sacó las fuerzas del ejército, y destruyó la tierra de los hijos de Ammón, y vino y cercó á Rabba. Mas David estaba en Jerusalem: y Joab batió á Rabba, y destruyóla.

And it came to pass, that after the year was expired, at the time that kings go out to battle, Joab led forth the power of the army, and wasted the country of the children of Ammon, and came and besieged Rabbah. But David tarried at Jerusalem. And Joab smote Rabbah, and destroyed it.

E David prese la corona, che Melchom aveva in capo, e vi trovò il peso di un talento d'oro, e delle gemme di gran pregio, e ne fece un diadema per se: e fece anche grandissima preda in quella città:

E il popolo, che vi era dentro, lo fece uscir fuora: e fece passare sopra di essi delle tregge, e de' carri armati di ferro, e di falci, talmente che restavano trinciati, e stritolati: 1o stesso fece David in tutte le città de' figliuoli di Ammon: e tornossene colla sua gente a Gerusalemme.

E Un'altra guerra vi fu in Geth, dove si trovò un uomo di grandissima statura, che avea sei dita, viene a dire, in tutto ventiquattro dita: il quale anch'egli era nato della stirpe di Rapha.
