1Construyó también casa para sí o su familia en la ciudad de David, y edificó para el arca de Dios un lugar propio, y le formó un tabernáculo.
2Entonces dijo David: No es lícito que el arca de Dios sea llevada por otros que por los de la tribu de Leví, escogidos por el Señor para llevarla, y para ser sus ministros perpetuamente.
3En consecuencia, congregó a todo Israel en Jerusalén , para trasladar el arca de Dios al lugar propio que le tenía preparado.
4Y convocó también a los hijos de Aarón y a los levitas.
5De los hijos de Caat el principal era Uriel, que tenía consigo ciento veinte hermanos.
6De los hijos de Merari era el principal Asaya, y tenía consigo doscientos veinte hermanos.
7De los hijos de Gersom era cabeza Joel, y tenía consigo ciento treinta hermanos.
8De los hijos de Elisafán era Semeías el principal, y doscientos sus hermanos.
9De los hijos de Hebrón el principal era Eliel, y ochenta los hermanos que tenía consigo.
10De los hijos de Oziel era Aminadab el principal, y tenía consigo ciento doce hermanos.
11Y llamó David en particular a los sacerdotes Sadoc, y Abiatar, y a los levitas Uriel, Asaya, Joel, Semeía, Eliel y Aminadab,
12y les dijo: Vosotros que sois los principales de las familias levíticas, purificaos junto con vuestros hermanos los demás levitas, y transportad el arca del Señor Dios de Israel al lugar que le está preparado.
13No sea que como antes nos castigó el Señor, porque vosotros no estabais presentes; acontezca ahora lo mismo, si hacemos alguna cosa que no nos es permitida.
14Se purificaron, pues, los sacerdotes y levitas para transportar el arca del Señor Dios de Israel.
15Y de este modo los hijos de Leví llevaron sobre sus hombros con las varas el arca de Dios, según lo había ordenado Moisés conforme al mandamiento del Señor.
16Mandó también David a los jefes de los levitas que señalasen de entre sus hermanos cantores y tocadores de instrumentos músicos, es a saber, de salterios, de liras y de címbalos; a fin de que resonasen hasta el cielo los sonidos de júbilo.
17Señalaron, pues, de los levitas a Hemam, hijo de Joel, y de los hermanos de éste a Asaf, hijo de Baraquís, y de los hijos de Merari, hermanos suyos, a Etán, hijo de Casaya,
18con sus hermanos. En el segundo orden o coro a Zacarías, a Ben, a Jaziel, a Semiramot, y Jahiel, y Ani; a Eliab, y Bananías, y Maasías, y Matatías, y Elifalú, y Masenías, y Obededom, y Jehiel que eran porteros.
19Los cantores Hemam, Asaf y Etán tocaban los címbalos de bronce;
20Zacarías, y Oziel, y Semiramot, y Jahiel, y Ani, y Eliab, y Maasías, y Banaías cantaban al son de salterios himnos misteriosos.
21Matatías, Elifalú, y Macenías, y Obededom, y Jehiel, y Ozaziú cantaban cánticos triunfales con cítaras de ocho cuerdas;
22Conenías, jefe de los levitas, era el maes-tro que dirigía el canto, por ser muy inteligente.
23Baraquías y Elcana hacían de porteros o ujieres del arca .
24Y Sebenías, y Josafat, y Natanael, y Amasaí, y Zacarías, y Banaías, y Eliezer, sacerdotes, tocaban las trompetas o clarines delante del arca de Dios; Obededom y Jehías eran asimismo porteros del arca .
25De este modo David y todos los ancianos de Israel, y los tribunos fueron a trasladar el arca del Testamento del Señor de la casa de Obededom a Jerusalén con fiestas y regocijos.
26Y por haber Dios asistido o mostrádose propicio con los levitas que llevaban el arca del Testamento del Señor, fueron inmolados siete toros y siete carneros.
27Iba David vestido de una ropa talar de biso, como también todos los levitas que llevaban el arca , y los cantores, y Conenías, su director; mas David estaba también revestido de un efod de lino.
28Y todo Israel acompañaba el arca de Testamento del Señor con voces de júbilo, y al son de clarines, y trompetas, y timbales, y salterios, y cítaras.
29Así que el arca del Testamento del Señor llegó a la ciudad de David, Micol, hija de Saúl, asomándose a mirar desde una ventana, vio al rey David que saltaba y bailaba delante del arca , y le despreció en su corazón.

1HIZO también casas para sí en la ciudad de David, y labró un lugar para el arca de Dios, y tendióle una tienda.
2Entonces dijo David: El arca de Dios no debe ser traída sino por los Levitas; porque á ellos ha elegido Jehová para que lleven el arca de Jehová, y le sirvan perpetuamente.
3Y juntó David á todo Israel en Jerusalem, para que pasasen el arca de Jehová á su lugar, el cual le había él preparado.
4Juntó también David á los hijos de Aarón y á los Levitas:
5De los hijos de Coath, Uriel el principal, y sus hermanos, ciento y veinte;
6De los hijos de Merari, Asaías el principal, y sus hermanos, doscientos y veinte;
7De los hijos de Gersón, Joel el principal, y sus hermanos, ciento y treinta;
8De los hijos de Elisaphán, Semeías el principal, y sus hermanos, doscientos;
9De los hijos de Hebrón, Eliel el principal, y sus hermanos, ochenta;
10De los hijos de Uzziel, Aminadab el principal, y sus hermanos, ciento y doce.
11Y llamó David á Sadoc y á Abiathar, sacerdotes, y á los Levitas, Uriel, Asaías, Joel, Semeías, Eliel, y Aminadab;
12Y díjoles: Vosotros que sois los principales de padres entre los Levitas, santificaos, vosotros y vuestros hermanos, y pasad el arca de Jehová Dios de Israel al lugar que le he preparado;
13Pues por no haberlo hecho así vosotros la primera vez, Jehová nuestro Dios hizo en nosotros rotura, por cuanto no le buscamos según la ordenanza.
14Así los sacerdotes y los Levitas se santificaron para traer el arca de Jehová Dios de Israel.
15Y los hijos de los Levitas trajeron el arca de Dios puesta sobre sus hombros en las barras, como lo había mandado Moisés conforme á la palabra de Jehová.
16Asimismo dijo David á los principales de los Levitas, que constituyesen de sus hermanos cantores, con instrumentos de música, con salterios, y arpas, y címbalos, que resonasen, y alzasen la voz con alegría.
17Y los Levitas constituyeron á Hemán hijo de Joel; y de sus hermanos, á Asaph hijo de Berechîas; y de los hijos de Merari y de sus hermanos, á Ethán hijo de Cusaías;
18Y con ellos á sus hermanos del segundo orden, á Zachârías, Ben y Jaaziel, Semiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Benaías, Maasías, y Mathithías, Eliphelehu, Micnías, Obed-edom, y Jehiel, los porteros.
19Así Hemán, Asaph, y Ethán, que eran cantores, sonaban con címbalos de metal.
20Y Zachârías, Jaaziel, Semiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Maasías, y Benaías, con salterios sobre Alamoth.
21Y Mathithías, Eliphelehu, Micnías, Obed-edom, Jehiel, y Azazías, cantaban con arpas en la octava sobresaliendo.
22Y Chênanías, principal de los Levitas, estaba para la entonación; pues él presidía en el canto, porque era entendido.
23Y Berechîas y Elcana eran porteros del arca.
24Y Sebanías, Josaphat, Nathanael, Amasai, Zachârías, Benaías, y Eliezer, sacerdotes, tocaban las trompetas delante del arca de Dios: Obed-edom y Jehías eran también porteros del arca.
25David pues y los ancianos de Israel, y los capitanes de millares, fueron á traer el arca del pacto de Jehová, de casa de Obed-edom, con alegría.
26Y ayudando Dios á los Levitas que llevaban el arca del pacto de Jehová, sacrificaban siete novillos y siete carneros.
27Y David iba vestido de lino fino y también todos los Levitas que llevaban el arca, y asimismo los cantores; y Chênanías era maestro de canto entre los cantores. Llevaba también David sobre sí un ephod de lino.
28De esta manera llevaba todo Israel el arca del pacto de Jehová, con júbilo y sonido de bocinas, y trompetas, y címbalos, y al son de salterios y arpas.
29Y como el arca del pacto de Jehová llegó á la ciudad de David, Michâl, hija de Saúl, mirando por una ventana, vió al rey David que saltaba y bailaba; y menospreciólo en su corazón.

1And David made him houses in the city of David, and prepared a place for the ark of God, and pitched for it a tent.
2Then David said, None ought to carry the ark of God but the Levites: for them hath the LORD chosen to carry the ark of God, and to minister unto him for ever.
3And David gathered all Israel together to Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the LORD unto his place, which he had prepared for it.
4And David assembled the children of Aaron, and the Levites:
5Of the sons of Kohath; Uriel the chief, and his brethren an hundred and twenty:
6Of the sons of Merari; Asaiah the chief, and his brethren two hundred and twenty:
7Of the sons of Gershom; Joel the chief, and his brethren an hundred and thirty:
8Of the sons of Elizaphan; Shemaiah the chief, and his brethren two hundred:
9Of the sons of Hebron; Eliel the chief, and his brethren fourscore:
10Of the sons of Uzziel; Amminadab the chief, and his brethren an hundred and twelve.
11And David called for Zadok and Abiathar the priests, and for the Levites, for Uriel, Asaiah, and Joel, Shemaiah, and Eliel, and Amminadab,
12And said unto them, Ye are the chief of the fathers of the Levites: sanctify yourselves, both ye and your brethren, that ye may bring up the ark of the LORD God of Israel unto the place that I have prepared for it.
13For because ye did it not at the first, the LORD our God made a breach upon us, for that we sought him not after the due order.
14So the priests and the Levites sanctified themselves to bring up the ark of the LORD God of Israel.
15And the children of the Levites bare the ark of God upon their shoulders with the staves thereon, as Moses commanded according to the word of the LORD.
16And David spake to the chief of the Levites to appoint their brethren to be the singers with instruments of musick, psalteries and harps and cymbals, sounding, by lifting up the voice with joy.
17So the Levites appointed Heman the son of Joel; and of his brethren, Asaph the son of Berechiah; and of the sons of Merari their brethren, Ethan the son of Kushaiah;
18And with them their brethren of the second degree, Zechariah, Ben, and Jaaziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, Eliab, and Benaiah, and Maaseiah, and Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneiah, and Obed-edom, and Jeiel, the porters.
19So the singers, Heman, Asaph, and Ethan, were appointed to sound with cymbals of brass;
20And Zechariah, and Aziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, and Eliab, and Maaseiah, and Benaiah, with psalteries on Alamoth;
21And Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneiah, and Obed-edom, and Jeiel, and Azaziah, with harps on the Sheminith to excel.
22And Chenaniah, chief of the Levites, was for song: he instructed about the song, because he was skilful.
23And Berechiah and Elkanah were doorkeepers for the ark.
24And Shebaniah, and Jehoshaphat, and Nethaneel, and Amasai, and Zechariah, and Benaiah, and Eliezer, the priests, did blow with the trumpets before the ark of God: and Obed-edom and Jehiah were doorkeepers for the ark.
25So David, and the elders of Israel, and the captains over thousands, went to bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD out of the house of Obed-edom with joy.
26And it came to pass, when God helped the Levites that bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD, that they offered seven bullocks and seven rams.
27And David was clothed with a robe of fine linen, and all the Levites that bare the ark, and the singers, and Chenaniah the master of the song with the singers: David also had upon him an ephod of linen.
28Thus all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of the LORD with shouting, and with sound of the cornet, and with trumpets, and with cymbals, making a noise with psalteries and harps.
29And it came to pass, as the ark of the covenant of the LORD came to the city of David, that Michal the daughter of Saul looking out at a window saw king David dancing and playing: and she despised him in her heart.

1David made himself houses in David’s city; and he prepared a place for God’s ark, and pitched a tent for it.
2Then David said, “No one ought to carry God’s ark but the Levites. For the LORD has chosen them to carry God’s ark, and to minister to him forever.”
3David assembled all Israel at Jerusalem, to bring up the LORD’s ark to its place, which he had prepared for it.
4David gathered together the sons of Aaron and the Levites:
5of the sons of Kohath, Uriel the chief, and his brothers one hundred twenty;
6of the sons of Merari, Asaiah the chief, and his brothers two hundred twenty;

8of the sons of Elizaphan, Shemaiah the chief, and his brothers two hundred;
9of the sons of Hebron, Eliel the chief, and his brothers eighty;

11David called for Zadok and Abiathar the priests, and for the Levites: for Uriel, Asaiah, Joel, Shemaiah, Eliel, and Amminadab,
12and said to them, “You are the heads of the fathers’ households of the Levites. Sanctify yourselves, both you and your brothers, that you may bring the ark of the LORD, the God of Israel, up to the place that I have prepared for it.
13For because you didn’t carry it at first, the LORD our God broke out in anger against us, because we didn’t seek him according to the ordinance.”
14So the priests and the Levites sanctified themselves to bring up the ark of the LORD, the God of Israel.
15The children of the Levites bore God’s ark on their shoulders with its poles, as Moses commanded according to the LORD’s word.
16David spoke to the chief of the Levites to appoint their brothers as singers with instruments of music, stringed instruments, harps, and cymbals, sounding aloud and lifting up their voices with joy.

22Chenaniah, chief of the Levites, was over the singing. He taught the singers, because he was skillful.
23Berechiah and Elkanah were doorkeepers for the ark.
24Shebaniah, Joshaphat, Nethanel, Amasai, Zechariah, Benaiah, and Eliezer, the priests, blew the trumpets before God’s ark; and Obed-Edom and Jehiah were doorkeepers for the ark.
25So David, the elders of Israel, and the captains over thousands went to bring the ark of the LORD’s covenant up out of the house of Obed-Edom with joy.
