1Et il bâtit pour lui des maisons dans la Cité de David, et prépara une place à l'Arche de Dieu et dressa une tente pour la recevoir.
2Alors David dit : L'Arche de Dieu ne doit être portée que par les Lévites, car c'est eux que l'Éternel a choisis pour porter l'Arche de Dieu et en faire le service à perpétuité.
3Et David assembla tout Israël à Jérusalem pour transporter l'Arche de l'Éternel à sa place, qu'il lui avait préparée.
4Et David réunit les fils d'Aaron et les Lévites ;
5des fils de Cahath : Uriel, le chef, et ses frères, cent vingt ;
6des fils de Merari : Asaïa, le chef, et ses frères, deux cent vingt ;
7des fils de Gersom : Joël, le chef, et ses frères, cent trente ;
8des fils d'Elitsaphan : Semaïa, le chef, et ses frères, deux cents ;
9des fils de Hébron : Eliel, le chef, et ses frères, quatre-vingts ;
10des fils de Uzziel : Amminadab, le chef, et ses frères, cent-douze.
11Et David manda Tsadoc et Abiathar, Prêtres ; et les Lévites Uriel, Asaïa et Joël ; Semaïa, Eliel, et Amminadab,
12et leur dit : Vous êtes les patriarches des Lévites ; mettez-vous en état de sainteté, vous et vos frères, et transportez l'Arche de l'Éternel, Dieu d'Israël, au lieu que je lui ai préparé.
13C'est parce que la première fois vous ne l'avez pas fait, que l'Éternel, notre Dieu, a frappé un coup sur nous, parce que nous ne l'avions pas consulté selon le droit.
14Et les Prêtres et les Lévites se mirent en état de sainteté pour faire la translation de l'Arche de l'Éternel, Dieu d'Israël.
15Et les fils des Lévites portèrent l'Arche de Dieu, comme Moïse l'avait prescrit d'après la parole de l'Éternel, sur leurs épaules où posaient les barres.
16Et David dit aux chefs des Lévites de mettre de service leurs frères les chantres, avec des instruments de musique, harpes et luths et cymbales, retentissants, pour prendre un ton éclatant en signe de joie.
17Et les Lévites mirent de service : Heiman, fils de Joël, et, de ses frères, Asaph, fils de Béréchia, et, des fils de Merari, leurs frères : Eithan, fils de Cusaïa,
18et avec eux leurs frères puînés Zacharie, Ben et Jaëziel et Semiramoth et Jehiel et Unni, Eliab et Benaïa et Maëséia et Matthithia et Eliphéléhou et Micnéihu et Obed-Edom et Jeïel, portiers ;
19et les chantres Heiman, Asaph et Eithan pour faire résonner les cymbales d'airain, et
20Zacharie et Aziel et Semiramoth et Jehiel et Unni et Eliab et Maëséia et Benaïa avec des harpes en mode virginal
21et Matthithia et Eliphéléhou et Micnéihu et Obed-Edom et Jeïel et Azazia avec des luths en octave de basse pour conduire le chant.
22Et Chenania, Maître chantre des Lévites, enseignait le chant, car il était entendu.
23Et Béréchia et Elcana étaient portiers de l'Arche.
24Et Sebania et Josaphat et Nethaneël et Amasaï et Zacharie et Benaïa et Eliézer, Prêtres, sonnaient des trompettes devant l'Arche de Dieu. Et Obed-Edom et Jehia étaient portiers de l'Arche.
25Ainsi David et les Anciens d'Israël et les chefs de mille partirent pour transporter l'Arche de l'alliance de l'Éternel de la maison d'Obed-Edom, dans l'allégresse.
26Et comme Dieu fut en aide aux Lévites qui portaient l'Arche d'alliance de l'Éternel, ils sacrifièrent sept taureaux et sept béliers.
27Et David était revêtu d'un manteau de byssus, de même que tous les Lévites, porteurs de l'Arche, et les chantres et Chenania, Maître chantre parmi les chantres ; et David portait un éphod de lin.
28Et tout Israël opéra la translation de l'Arche de l'alliance de l'Éternel avec des acclamations et au son des clairons et des trompettes et des cymbales, faisant résonner les harpes et les luths.
29Et lorsque l'Arche d'alliance de l'Éternel atteignait la cité de David, Michal, fille de Saül, regardait par la fenêtre, et elle vit le roi David dansant et sautant, et elle conçut pour lui du mépris en son cœur.

1HIZO también casas para sí en la ciudad de David, y labró un lugar para el arca de Dios, y tendióle una tienda.
2Entonces dijo David: El arca de Dios no debe ser traída sino por los Levitas; porque á ellos ha elegido Jehová para que lleven el arca de Jehová, y le sirvan perpetuamente.
3Y juntó David á todo Israel en Jerusalem, para que pasasen el arca de Jehová á su lugar, el cual le había él preparado.
4Juntó también David á los hijos de Aarón y á los Levitas:
5De los hijos de Coath, Uriel el principal, y sus hermanos, ciento y veinte;
6De los hijos de Merari, Asaías el principal, y sus hermanos, doscientos y veinte;
7De los hijos de Gersón, Joel el principal, y sus hermanos, ciento y treinta;
8De los hijos de Elisaphán, Semeías el principal, y sus hermanos, doscientos;
9De los hijos de Hebrón, Eliel el principal, y sus hermanos, ochenta;
10De los hijos de Uzziel, Aminadab el principal, y sus hermanos, ciento y doce.
11Y llamó David á Sadoc y á Abiathar, sacerdotes, y á los Levitas, Uriel, Asaías, Joel, Semeías, Eliel, y Aminadab;
12Y díjoles: Vosotros que sois los principales de padres entre los Levitas, santificaos, vosotros y vuestros hermanos, y pasad el arca de Jehová Dios de Israel al lugar que le he preparado;
13Pues por no haberlo hecho así vosotros la primera vez, Jehová nuestro Dios hizo en nosotros rotura, por cuanto no le buscamos según la ordenanza.
14Así los sacerdotes y los Levitas se santificaron para traer el arca de Jehová Dios de Israel.
15Y los hijos de los Levitas trajeron el arca de Dios puesta sobre sus hombros en las barras, como lo había mandado Moisés conforme á la palabra de Jehová.
16Asimismo dijo David á los principales de los Levitas, que constituyesen de sus hermanos cantores, con instrumentos de música, con salterios, y arpas, y címbalos, que resonasen, y alzasen la voz con alegría.
17Y los Levitas constituyeron á Hemán hijo de Joel; y de sus hermanos, á Asaph hijo de Berechîas; y de los hijos de Merari y de sus hermanos, á Ethán hijo de Cusaías;
18Y con ellos á sus hermanos del segundo orden, á Zachârías, Ben y Jaaziel, Semiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Benaías, Maasías, y Mathithías, Eliphelehu, Micnías, Obed-edom, y Jehiel, los porteros.
19Así Hemán, Asaph, y Ethán, que eran cantores, sonaban con címbalos de metal.
20Y Zachârías, Jaaziel, Semiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Maasías, y Benaías, con salterios sobre Alamoth.
21Y Mathithías, Eliphelehu, Micnías, Obed-edom, Jehiel, y Azazías, cantaban con arpas en la octava sobresaliendo.
22Y Chênanías, principal de los Levitas, estaba para la entonación; pues él presidía en el canto, porque era entendido.
23Y Berechîas y Elcana eran porteros del arca.
24Y Sebanías, Josaphat, Nathanael, Amasai, Zachârías, Benaías, y Eliezer, sacerdotes, tocaban las trompetas delante del arca de Dios: Obed-edom y Jehías eran también porteros del arca.
25David pues y los ancianos de Israel, y los capitanes de millares, fueron á traer el arca del pacto de Jehová, de casa de Obed-edom, con alegría.
26Y ayudando Dios á los Levitas que llevaban el arca del pacto de Jehová, sacrificaban siete novillos y siete carneros.
27Y David iba vestido de lino fino y también todos los Levitas que llevaban el arca, y asimismo los cantores; y Chênanías era maestro de canto entre los cantores. Llevaba también David sobre sí un ephod de lino.
28De esta manera llevaba todo Israel el arca del pacto de Jehová, con júbilo y sonido de bocinas, y trompetas, y címbalos, y al son de salterios y arpas.
29Y como el arca del pacto de Jehová llegó á la ciudad de David, Michâl, hija de Saúl, mirando por una ventana, vió al rey David que saltaba y bailaba; y menospreciólo en su corazón.

1And David made him houses in the city of David, and prepared a place for the ark of God, and pitched for it a tent.
2Then David said, None ought to carry the ark of God but the Levites: for them hath the LORD chosen to carry the ark of God, and to minister unto him for ever.
3And David gathered all Israel together to Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the LORD unto his place, which he had prepared for it.
4And David assembled the children of Aaron, and the Levites:
5Of the sons of Kohath; Uriel the chief, and his brethren an hundred and twenty:
6Of the sons of Merari; Asaiah the chief, and his brethren two hundred and twenty:
7Of the sons of Gershom; Joel the chief, and his brethren an hundred and thirty:
8Of the sons of Elizaphan; Shemaiah the chief, and his brethren two hundred:
9Of the sons of Hebron; Eliel the chief, and his brethren fourscore:
10Of the sons of Uzziel; Amminadab the chief, and his brethren an hundred and twelve.
11And David called for Zadok and Abiathar the priests, and for the Levites, for Uriel, Asaiah, and Joel, Shemaiah, and Eliel, and Amminadab,
12And said unto them, Ye are the chief of the fathers of the Levites: sanctify yourselves, both ye and your brethren, that ye may bring up the ark of the LORD God of Israel unto the place that I have prepared for it.
13For because ye did it not at the first, the LORD our God made a breach upon us, for that we sought him not after the due order.
14So the priests and the Levites sanctified themselves to bring up the ark of the LORD God of Israel.
15And the children of the Levites bare the ark of God upon their shoulders with the staves thereon, as Moses commanded according to the word of the LORD.
16And David spake to the chief of the Levites to appoint their brethren to be the singers with instruments of musick, psalteries and harps and cymbals, sounding, by lifting up the voice with joy.
17So the Levites appointed Heman the son of Joel; and of his brethren, Asaph the son of Berechiah; and of the sons of Merari their brethren, Ethan the son of Kushaiah;
18And with them their brethren of the second degree, Zechariah, Ben, and Jaaziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, Eliab, and Benaiah, and Maaseiah, and Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneiah, and Obed-edom, and Jeiel, the porters.
19So the singers, Heman, Asaph, and Ethan, were appointed to sound with cymbals of brass;
20And Zechariah, and Aziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, and Eliab, and Maaseiah, and Benaiah, with psalteries on Alamoth;
21And Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneiah, and Obed-edom, and Jeiel, and Azaziah, with harps on the Sheminith to excel.
22And Chenaniah, chief of the Levites, was for song: he instructed about the song, because he was skilful.
23And Berechiah and Elkanah were doorkeepers for the ark.
24And Shebaniah, and Jehoshaphat, and Nethaneel, and Amasai, and Zechariah, and Benaiah, and Eliezer, the priests, did blow with the trumpets before the ark of God: and Obed-edom and Jehiah were doorkeepers for the ark.
25So David, and the elders of Israel, and the captains over thousands, went to bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD out of the house of Obed-edom with joy.
26And it came to pass, when God helped the Levites that bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD, that they offered seven bullocks and seven rams.
27And David was clothed with a robe of fine linen, and all the Levites that bare the ark, and the singers, and Chenaniah the master of the song with the singers: David also had upon him an ephod of linen.
28Thus all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of the LORD with shouting, and with sound of the cornet, and with trumpets, and with cymbals, making a noise with psalteries and harps.
29And it came to pass, as the ark of the covenant of the LORD came to the city of David, that Michal the daughter of Saul looking out at a window saw king David dancing and playing: and she despised him in her heart.

1David made himself houses in David’s city; and he prepared a place for God’s ark, and pitched a tent for it.
2Then David said, “No one ought to carry God’s ark but the Levites. For the LORD has chosen them to carry God’s ark, and to minister to him forever.”
3David assembled all Israel at Jerusalem, to bring up the LORD’s ark to its place, which he had prepared for it.
4David gathered together the sons of Aaron and the Levites:
5of the sons of Kohath, Uriel the chief, and his brothers one hundred twenty;
6of the sons of Merari, Asaiah the chief, and his brothers two hundred twenty;
7of the sons of Gershom, Joel the chief, and his brothers one hundred thirty;
8of the sons of Elizaphan, Shemaiah the chief, and his brothers two hundred;
9of the sons of Hebron, Eliel the chief, and his brothers eighty;
10of the sons of Uzziel, Amminadab the chief, and his brothers one hundred twelve.
11David called for Zadok and Abiathar the priests, and for the Levites: for Uriel, Asaiah, Joel, Shemaiah, Eliel, and Amminadab,
12and said to them, “You are the heads of the fathers’ households of the Levites. Sanctify yourselves, both you and your brothers, that you may bring the ark of the LORD, the God of Israel, up to the place that I have prepared for it.
13For because you didn’t carry it at first, the LORD our God broke out in anger against us, because we didn’t seek him according to the ordinance.”
14So the priests and the Levites sanctified themselves to bring up the ark of the LORD, the God of Israel.
15The children of the Levites bore God’s ark on their shoulders with its poles, as Moses commanded according to the LORD’s word.
16David spoke to the chief of the Levites to appoint their brothers as singers with instruments of music, stringed instruments, harps, and cymbals, sounding aloud and lifting up their voices with joy.
17So the Levites appointed Heman the son of Joel; and of his brothers, Asaph the son of Berechiah; and of the sons of Merari their brothers, Ethan the son of Kushaiah;

20and Zechariah, Aziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Maaseiah, and Benaiah, with stringed instruments set to Alamoth;
21and Mattithiah, Eliphelehu, Mikneiah, Obed-Edom, Jeiel, and Azaziah, with harps tuned to the eight-stringed lyre, to lead.
22Chenaniah, chief of the Levites, was over the singing. He taught the singers, because he was skillful.
23Berechiah and Elkanah were doorkeepers for the ark.
24Shebaniah, Joshaphat, Nethanel, Amasai, Zechariah, Benaiah, and Eliezer, the priests, blew the trumpets before God’s ark; and Obed-Edom and Jehiah were doorkeepers for the ark.
25So David, the elders of Israel, and the captains over thousands went to bring the ark of the LORD’s covenant up out of the house of Obed-Edom with joy.
26When God helped the Levites who bore the ark of the LORD’s covenant, they sacrificed seven bulls and seven rams.
27David was clothed with a robe of fine linen, as were all the Levites who bore the ark, the singers, and Chenaniah the choir master with the singers; and David had an ephod of linen on him.
28Thus all Israel brought the ark of the LORD’s covenant up with shouting, with sound of the cornet, with trumpets, and with cymbals, sounding aloud with stringed instruments and harps.
