1Hiram, roi de Tyr, envoya des messagers à David avec des cèdres, des maçons et des charpentiers, pour lui construire une maison.
2David s'aperçut que Yahvé l'avait établi roi sur Israël, car son royaume était très élevé, à cause de son peuple Israël.
3David prit d'autres femmes à Jérusalem, et il engendra d'autres fils et d'autres filles.
4Voici les noms des enfants qu'il eut à Jérusalem : Shammua, Shobab, Nathan, Salomon,
5Ibhar, Elishua, Elpelet,
6Nogah, Nepheg, Japhia,
7Elishama, Beeliada et Eliphelet.
8Lorsque les Philistins apprirent que David avait été oint roi sur tout Israël, tous les Philistins montèrent à la recherche de David ; David l'apprit et sortit à leur rencontre.
9Les Philistins étaient venus et avaient fait un raid dans la vallée des Rephaïm.
10David consulta Dieu, en disant : Monterai-je contre les Philistins ? Les livreras-tu entre mes mains ? » Yahvé lui dit : « Monte, car je vais les livrer entre tes mains. »
11Ils montèrent donc à Baal Perazim, et David les battit là. David dit : Dieu a brisé mes ennemis par ma main, comme des eaux qui jaillissent. C'est pourquoi on donna à ce lieu le nom de Baal Perazim.
12Ils y laissèrent leurs dieux ; David donna un ordre, et ils furent brûlés par le feu.
13Les Philistins firent un autre raid dans la vallée.
14David consulta de nouveau Dieu, et Dieu lui dit : « Tu ne monteras pas après eux. Détourne-toi d'eux, et tombe sur eux en face des mûriers.
15Quand tu entendras le bruit de la marche dans les cimes des mûriers, alors tu sortiras pour combattre, car Dieu est sorti devant toi pour frapper l'armée des Philistins. »
16David fit ce que Dieu lui avait ordonné, et ils attaquèrent l'armée des Philistins depuis Gabaon jusqu'à Guézer.
17La renommée de David se répandit dans tous les pays, et Yahvé fit craindre sa présence à toutes les nations.

1E HIRAM rey de Tiro envió embajadores á David, y madera de cedro, y albañiles y carpinteros, que le edificasen una casa.
2Y entendió David que Jehová lo había confirmado por rey sobre Israel, y que había ensalzado su reino sobre su pueblo Israel.
3Entonces David tomó también mujeres en Jerusalem y aun engendró David hijos é hijas.
4Y estos son los nombres de los que le nacieron en Jerusalem: Samua, Sobab, Nathán, Salomón,
5Ibhar, Elisua, Eliphelet,
6Noga, Nepheg, Japhías,
7Elisama, Beel-iada y Eliphelet.
8Y oyendo los Filisteos que David había sido ungido por rey sobre todo Israel, subieron todos los Filisteos en busca de David. Y como David lo oyó, salió contra ellos.
9Y vinieron los Filisteos, y extendiéronse por el valle de Raphaim.
10Entonces David consultó á Dios, diciendo: ¿Subiré contra los Filisteos? ¿los entregarás en mi mano? Y Jehová le dijo: Sube, que yo los entregaré en tus manos.
11Subieron pues á Baal-perasim, y allí los hirió David. Dijo luego David: Dios rompió mis enemigos por mi mano, como se rompen las aguas. Por esto llamaron el nombre de aquel lugar Baal-perasim.
12Y dejaron allí sus dioses, y David dijo que los quemasen al fuego.
13Y volviendo los Filisteos á extenderse por el valle,
14David volvió á consultar á Dios, y Dios le dijo: No subas tras ellos, sino rodéalos, para venir á ellos por delante de los morales;
15Y así que oyeres venir un estruendo por las copas de los morales, sal luego á la batalla: porque Dios saldrá delante de ti, y herirá el campo de los Filisteos.
16Hizo pues David como Dios le mandó, é hirieron el campo de los Filisteos desde Gabaón hasta Gezer.
17Y la fama de David fué divulgada por todas aquellas tierras: y puso Jehová temor de David sobre todas las gentes.

1Now Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and timber of cedars, with masons and carpenters, to build him an house.
2And David perceived that the LORD had confirmed him king over Israel, for his kingdom was lifted up on high, because of his people Israel.
3And David took more wives at Jerusalem: and David begat more sons and daughters.
4Now these are the names of his children which he had in Jerusalem; Shammua, and Shobab, Nathan, and Solomon,
5And Ibhar, and Elishua, and Elpalet,
6And Nogah, and Nepheg, and Japhia,
7And Elishama, and Beeliada, and Eliphalet.
8And when the Philistines heard that David was anointed king over all Israel, all the Philistines went up to seek David. And David heard of it, and went out against them.
9And the Philistines came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.
10And David enquired of God, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? and wilt thou deliver them into mine hand? And the LORD said unto him, Go up; for I will deliver them into thine hand.
11So they came up to Baal-perazim; and David smote them there. Then David said, God hath broken in upon mine enemies by mine hand like the breaking forth of waters: therefore they called the name of that place Baal-perazim.
12And when they had left their gods there, David gave a commandment, and they were burned with fire.
13And the Philistines yet again spread themselves abroad in the valley.
14Therefore David enquired again of God; and God said unto him, Go not up after them; turn away from them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees.
15And it shall be, when thou shalt hear a sound of going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt go out to battle: for God is gone forth before thee to smite the host of the Philistines.
16David therefore did as God commanded him: and they smote the host of the Philistines from Gibeon even to Gazer.
17And the fame of David went out into all lands; and the LORD brought the fear of him upon all nations.

1Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David with cedar trees, masons, and carpenters, to build him a house.
2David perceived that the LORD had established him king over Israel, for his kingdom was highly exalted, for his people Israel’s sake.
3David took more wives in Jerusalem, and David became the father of more sons and daughters.
4These are the names of the children whom he had in Jerusalem: Shammua, Shobab, Nathan, Solomon,
5Ibhar, Elishua, Elpelet,
6Nogah, Nepheg, Japhia,

10David inquired of God, saying, “Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will you deliver them into my hand?” The LORD said to him, “Go up; for I will deliver them into your hand.”
11So they came up to Baal Perazim, and David defeated them there. David said, God has broken my enemies by my hand, like waters breaking out. Therefore they called the name of that place Baal Perazim.
12They left their gods there; and David gave a command, and they were burned with fire.
13The Philistines made another raid in the valley.
14David inquired again of God; and God said to him, “You shall not go up after them. Turn away from them, and come on them opposite the mulberry trees.
15When you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry trees, then go out to battle; for God has gone out before you to strike the army of the Philistines.”
16David did as God commanded him; and they attacked the army of the Philistines from Gibeon even to Gezer.
17The fame of David went out into all lands; and the LORD brought the fear of him on all nations.
