19Anche degli uomini di Manasse passarono a Davide, quando questi andò coi Filistei a combattere contro Saul; ma Davide e i suoi uomini non furono d’alcun aiuto ai Filistei; giacché i principi dei Filistei, dopo essersi consultati, rimandarono Davide, dicendo: “Egli passerebbe dalla parte del suo signore Saul, a prezzo delle nostre teste”.

19And there fell some of Manasseh to David, when he came with the Philistines against Saul to battle: but they helped them not: for the lords of the Philistines upon advisement sent him away, saying, He will fall to his master Saul to the jeopardy of our heads.

19Some of Manasseh also joined David when he came with the Philistines against Saul to battle, but they didn’t help them, for the lords of the Philistines sent him away after consultation, saying, “He will desert to his master Saul to the jeopardy of our heads.”
